Anyway, did Sam did his eye poked out in morph or out? It didn't seem very clear.

Sam isn´t morph capable, he is teenager upgraded to the peak of human potential by an andalite experiment. He can thought speak because of technology and only when he wears a headset given to him by his parents too.
