I shrugged awkwardly, not knowing what to say back. I knew how awesome flying was, but it was equally awesome to have a house to come back to at night and not have to worry about catching your own food. Unless... I had heard from somewhere, was it from Cassie? I had heard something about bullies and Jake and Tobias once. Was it possible that life for Tobias could really be better in that body? I realised with a start that I knew nothing about the guy's home life. Did anyone even...?
"Hey, it's OK, it was a high-stress situation." I spoke softly, wondering what exactly would make Tobias go so far as to trap himself as a hawk. I guess he must have felt some kind of kinship with it to be so attached to that body. I felt bad for him. "I... I can always, you know, get some meat or whatever hawks eat, leave it on my desk, leave the window open..." It would feel wrong to let him starve or something.
