If you had a sibling as a controller....
« on: August 09, 2008, 06:31:48 PM »
I have a little brothrer ( hes 11) and if I ever saw him go to a sharing meeting, I think I'd cry (even though im a boy)

Its just so sad, thinking there's a helpless, innocent brother of mine being controlled, and he thinks no one knows. It gets tears in my eyes thinking of it.

I'd probaly starve the yeerk, and take my brother to Toby and Ket and Jara. Then he'd be safe  Then i'd take my parents and we would have to  live there.

If you have a sibling what would you do?

pretend I don't know, and just go on living my life. anything else I do could end up getting me killed or turned into a controller.

This.  It seems like the best strategy.  But I'd make sure that under no circumstances would I ever be alone with him.

I'm sorry, but to me that sounds kinda heartless. Even if I didn't like my siblings (which I do) I still couldn't just pretend they weren't being enslaved by evil aliens. Plus there is the fact that if I don't do anything, they will turn on me sooner or later and I will be killed or enslaved anyway, so I might as well die trying to save someone I care about.

I'd do something. I'm not sure what I'd do, though. I just wouldn't feel safe living in the same house as a controller.

That's why you watch out for those things. and if you live and wait long enough, an opportunity to save them will come.

*sigh* That's a tough question. I love my older sister so much. It would hurt to know that for who knows how long, I'd been talking to someone else. Knowing she was in there the entire time. What's even creepier, is if she told me about this "great new group" called "The Sharing" I would totally go with her and join. Even request to be a full member. Amazing, how people can have such a big influence on younger siblings.

If I knew? Well, I'd panic, at first. I'd probably grab my money stash, pack a bag full of food and water, and head out the door. I'd probably come to my senses, though, before my absence was noticed, and return home.

Perhaps I would make an attempt to starve the Yeerk, but that would be difficult, considering I'd be fighting a nineteen year-old, as well as a very angry alien who would not hesitate to hurt me. I'd have to find a place to keep her for three days. Yeah, I don't think I'd be able to starve the Yeerk.

Like morf, I'd have to just deal with it and pretend I didn't know. Getting killed or infested wouldn't be worth it, considering my chances of actually freeing my sister would be unbelievably small. And if I were infested, I'd have to worry about freeing both of us. Couldn't handle that.

If I were an Animorph, now, I think I'd be tempted to do something very bad to that Yeerk. And I WOULD, more or less, have a way of keeping her hidden and tied up for three days...

If I ever found out she was voluntary... I don't know what I would do then.
If you are not in my avatar, and would like to be, or if you changed your name and avatar and would like me to update it, PM me. I cannot add or change anyone at the moment as I lost the file I use for this, but if people still want in, I'll work on it.

I am RAFmarried to my sweet shnukums, Rachel. ;D

I'd know. It'd make it harder to live with them, but there isn't much I could do without the possibility of getting infested myself. I can't really try to do things like starve them, cuz that would give away that I know.

So, pretty much what morf said.
There's a method to my madness, I just haven't figured it out yet.

I think this is one case where waiting would be a bad thing. After all, it's going to be a lot harder to "make your move" nearer the end of the war when there are a lot more Controllers around.

I'm not entirely sure what I'd do, but I wouldn't just bury my head in the sand. If I was an Animorph then that would help, but otherwise I'd just have to come up with a plan.

And if I found out they were voluntary... I'd be very angry and upset at them. I don't think I'd ever forgive them for that.

I'd find out her feeding schedule, first, and then try and form a plan around that. If my parents were still free, then I'd try to arrange a "suprise trip" around the time she's due to feed (would take less time to starve the Yeerk). If this succeeds, then the whole family can... go into hiding. ^^; Join the witness protection program or something.

You don't really have to hold them for three days to starve the Yeerk. Just figure out their schedule, then grab them on the third day right before they try to leave for the pool.

If my sister's life was really crappy enough to justify becoming a voluntary controller, then trying to free her wouldn't be the highest priority on my list of helping her.

Then again, she may become voluntary because she figures they're going to take her one way or the other. They can't just let her walk out. So she decides sitting on a couch watching TV during her Yeerk-free time is better than sitting in a cage with nothing to do but wait.

If I was an Animorph, I'd rescue her and have her go missing. Better for my parents to worry about where she is than for her to be infested. Then again, I'd probably try to help them too.

If voluntary, I'd just forget it. Obviously they're happy being a controller, so let them be.

I have a 28 year old brother, that's married. I'd let him get taken. It'd do wonders for his social status. Right now, all he does is work and then goes home and plays World of Warcraft until he goes to bed, wake up, goes to work, repeat. I actually haven't even talked to him in the last 3 months, cause he doesn't even have time to talk. He's always busy with some Raid or another.

Thats not entirely true. remember in in 11# (I cant reember exactly what book num, its when rachel morphs into a crok) and the celebertie she and cassie has a crush on is on the yatch, and the controllers are persuaadeing him into thinking being a voluntary host is great.

So I'd bet if you had a sister that voluntary and she escapes the pool, comes to you, she'd say it was a horrible expierience.

hmm...that wouldn't really count as voluntary to me. if the host hates it and resists, then it's involuntary no matter how they were infested.
