swords? O_o
But yes, add Taxxon and Yeerks... something about Animorphs without any Yeerk? no way!

They are good for close combat with Hork-bajir. Read my Fan fic and you'll see what I mean.

what genra are you aiming for? because swords are pretty much a must have in Cyberpunk.

I mean, I guess I could see adding taxxons and yeerks, but for one thing, the gameplay would be very lacking. You'd have to return somewhere every 3 days as a yeerk, and gametime goes by much faster. Where's the logistics there? Plus, you'd have to wait in a yeerk pool to infest someone anyhow, so you wouldn't really be a yeerk, right? You'd be whatever race you infest.

And as a taxxon, I mean, they are really useless, unless they come with an ability to create several other, swarming taxxons around them at any time. Because just about ANYTHING can kill a taxxon.
I went to the window and looked up at the stars. Somewhere up there, around one of those
cold, twinkling stars, was the Andalite home world. Somewhere up there was . . . hope.

<They'll come,> Tobias said. <The Andalites will come. And until then . . . >

I nodded and wiped away my tears. "Yeah," I said. "Until then, we fight."

would creating more taxxons really be better? if there are more taxxons, you're dead if you bleed.

taxxons are pretty fast swimmers and good diggers.

About Yeerk, you're right ^_^ I just wanted to say that maybe you should let people choose if they wanna be with Yeerks or with Andalites or with Animorphs. Kind of "angel or devil" thing, as you can see in some MMORPG (Dofus for example). I think it's quite good to make it like in Dofus: you can show that you're a angler or a devil, and fight against the others, but you also can hide it if you want... for example if you aren't enough strong or doing other things and don't wanna fight against other players everytime.
About Taxxons, if you don't wanna make them playable (does this word exist? ^_^'), just add them as monsters who attack the no-Yeerks or everybody who is hurt. It would be fun ;)

I don't think you necessarily understand how monumentally difficult and expensive making an MMO is.

Make Taxxons not as someone you can be, but someone that is there. Oh, and Swords are really effective when Hork-bajir get too close for dracon beams. read my Fanfic and you'll know what I mean.

You could have Yeerks as a playable character and when they level up they could change species. I don't think it would make sense to make them go to a Yeerk Pool every three days, but they could start out as a Gedd and upgrade to Taxxon, Hork-Bajir, human, etc. as they reach certain levels.

Or you could just be "Yeerk-aligned".

Still, how realistic is getting this project to work? MMO's are incredibly complicated and costly, not just to make, but also to maintain. I would totally play one if it existed and probably even donate to it. I just don't want to get my hopes up!

Being broke has nothing to do with it. All he can do is ask for donations, but it'd be illegal for him to charge an actual fee.

I don't think it'd be illegal, but he'd have to do a lot of extra paperwork if he was actually charging for the game and wanted to do it legally.
YOU'RE WINNER !

No, it is illegal to charge money for it, unless he has permission from Schoolastic. You're not allowed to make money off someone else's copyright, without their permission. Trust me, I'm a published author, I know how these things work.

Maybe he doesn't have to use any real names....?
