Concepts: Interactive Fanfics

This is a concept I just came up with, I haven't really seen anything like this (yet).  The concept of an interactive fanfic where multiple people on RAF collaborate to try and come up with something that MAKES SENSE FOR A FIC.  The topic would be Animorphs, of course, but I have two ideas of how this can be done.

Okay, two ideas:

Idea #1: in the nature of a "Choose your own adventure" where I'd write it and YOU GUYS would choose what happens next (or pick ideas from a list, really).  For Example (and I'm not sure these are actually the characters I'll be using, but this is just to give you guys the idea of what I'm talking about) I'd be the author, and I'd post that you can either....have Chapter two be narrated by Jake (and you'd have two options for what could happen to Jake - does he make a surprise discovery that the yeerks are back, or does he ask Cassie out on a date -- again, not what I'd necessarily do, just an example), or you could have chapter two narrated by Tobias (and you'd have two options for what could happen with him if you choose him for that chapter).

Idea #2: We take turns writing chapters.  I'll write Chapter One and set it up, you guys get to put your own spin on it in Chapter Two and add more, and Chapter Three is another person, etc, etc.  But the trick is it can only be  people who can FOLLOW A STORY LINE AND ARE SERIOUS ABOUT IT.  Please.  We need to be true to the Animorphs, and NOT mary-sue it half the chapters (like you see in some of those fics on ff.net).  Hope that didn't come out too harsh, but I have to stress that.

I like #1, it sounds fun.  I'm a bit confused on #2 though.  Would other people be writing the following chapters, or would you be writing them with the plot ideas others have suggested?

we'd all take turns writing -- I'm not entirely sure yet of how we'd KNOW it was our turn, maybe set up a list beforehand or whoever writes a chapter nominates someone to write the next chapter...

Ah.  That sounds cool, then.  Although it might be a problem if people have very different writing styles or very different ideas of what they want to do with the plot. xD

Maybe pick the next writer by random?  That would make it extra interesting.

ive actually been wanting to do a better alternamorphs for awhile, but i was thinking of doing a different way, i like your idea and i would love to see you do it and would vote every time

also, liked #2 (part of the reason for my vote, wheres the 'do both of them' option? lol) But yea if you get some goofy writers in there throwing too many twists and stuff it could be dangerous but i think around here it might work, and i would love to throw a chapter in sometime

I'd do either.  Both of them sound good.  I've been wanting to do an "alternamorphs" type thing of my own, but it would just be too much work for one person to handle.

If the votes stay for "either", I might just do both! XD  who knows.  You're right, musicman, it would be a lot of work for one person, but...I dunno, the hard part would be starting it, I think, the rest would be easy because someone else picks it for you XD  at least the way I'm doing it... if you're talking about a real choose-your-own-adventure, yeah, that's a bit more difficult.
