Just a thought...

Has anyone ever thought if it could be possible for 2 Yeerks to infest a person? I was just toying around with that idea earlier today, trying to see if it made any sense.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work. Either they wouldn't both fit or it simply wouldn't be possible for two Yeerks to control a host at the same time.

However, we don't know enough about how Yeerk infestation works, so it's something you could possibly use in a fanfic.

I have wondered if a second Yeerk could fit in a person's skull, but doubt that it would be able to control the host if there's already a Yeerk attached to the brain.

I would assume a second Yeerk wouldn't fit, since we know Yeerks flatten their bodies and sink into the crevices of the brain. If one is already present, it seems unlikely a second would be able to fit inside without potentially damaging the host.

My thoughts exactly.

it probably depends on the host

human, idk--Edriss did seem to express a lot of shock and surprise that the human brain is bifurcated, so I think it's a reasonable plot element to include in a fic, or something, if that's what you're planning. One Yeerk driving the left side, and another Yeerk driving the right might make for an interesting psychological experiment.

as for other hosts, who knows? Hork-Bajir seem to have bigger cranial cavities than humans, and there was that one race (Ongachics, I want to say?) that had their brains distributed throughout their bodies in separate nerve clusters. I mean it is pretty explicitly stated that that means they're uninfestable, but maybe there could be some radical-thinking Yeerk scientist who tries to infest them with more than one, idk.

it's an interesting idea, and if you explore it in a fic, definitely post it here :)
I go off topic on purpose.

On the otherhand, we do know that siamese twins are a real phenomenon. Some are capable of moving about and functioning in real life without being considered a "vecol" by Andalite standards.

You get a siamese twin with two different heads and you would need a yeerk a brain. Now that would be an interesting experiment.

What if there was a yeerk that controlled Yeerks?

I doubt the Yeerks would find siamese twins to be suitable hosts. No disrespect to Siamese twins. I just don't think the Yeerks would find them to be useful.

What if a yeerk infested an andalite, who then morphed into a human? The yeerk would be integrated into the morph, as seen with Visser Three, or as simply as the the clothes the Animorphs wear. If that morphed human were to be infested, what would happen?

What if Visser 3 morphed into a 5 headed monster,
(like this one http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Five-Headed_Dragon)
and 5 yeerks enter each head, and demorphs?

So that's 5 yeerks somehow mentally connected in zero-space,
1 yeerk physically in the andalite,
and the andalite's own mind.
