I like it Este. +1 for your effort and dedication.
Okay, first I'd like to say that I'm going to arrange for Chris to be dragged off. If and/or when he returns, he has the option of still being alive.
And second, I approve of Estelore's (simplified) system here. Unless someone has a serious issue (aka, not just a minor complaint), I'm going to use my awesome GM powers to say that this is how we're gonna do it. Let me summarize:
1) This will actually mean that
your character might die. Play smart. Every time you roll, I want/need you to post the numbers of your roll. Don't lie. That's cheating, and basically the same as powergaming in this system.
2) When you confront an
NPC enemy (*NOT* another player's character), you roll twice. The first is for your attack, the second is for the NPC's defense. (This means you don't have to wait for me to dispose of enemies.)
2a) If your attack is higher than their defense, the difference is subtracted from their HP.
2b) If their defense is higher than your attack, you fail, but don't lose any HP.
3) After you've attacked an NPC, assume that
it attacks back. Thus, you roll two more times. The first of these is it's attack, the second, your defense. Same rules as 2a and 2b apply, except reversed. Basically, if you attack, that was your choice, but now you have to deal with being attacked back.
No hit-and-runs!
3a) If you attack an NPC, they attack back. Only a GM can make a NPC initiate an attack.
4) As well as teaming up and cooperating to drain an enemies HP, you can attack repeatedly in hopes of chipping away at it. Kinda like Pokemon.
5) To make things easier, I will say that if you have armor (something that a GM has approved as armor) then you can add +1 for defense. I don't care if it's tree bark or kevlar,
you get +1. Same thing for weapons. Anything approved as a weapon, from a stick to a lightsaber, gets you +1 for attack. I know, this sounds ridiculous, but it's stats and modifiers like that that bogged us down before.
6) If you kill a NCP,
let the GM write the death, but rest assured, it will actually die. (Unless it has certain special effects or whatnot.
) If you kill another players character, allow the other player to write the death. If your character is supposed to die THEN YOU MUST DIE!!!!
7) Last note. According to this HP chart listed below, technically, a human could kill another person with a punch. *Marty swings his fist at Franky* Attack - 9, Defense - 2 *Franky dies* But... how?
Be creative! Maybe he fell and hit his head on a rock, or accidentally stabbed himself, or maybe an NPC monster got him while he was disoriented. Also,
be creative with your battles too. If you get a large difference between rolls, explain what that means in your post. Did your attack miss? Maybe you lost your grip, or they ducked, or you hiccuped right as you fired. Did you get hit? Maybe you've got a broken arm now, or they found that one hole in your armor.
Be creative![spoiler=HP Chart]

...AAAAAAAND, that's one heckuva 'summary'.
This is how it is now. For an example, check out the RP thread, where Reli is being attacked by a Kel-Hound. *evil laughter* Let's see what happens next.
Please don't die, Reli!

Woo! Reli didn't die! I'm very happy about this!
but... um.... ... I changed the HP chart. >.<
According the the HP amounts you'd used in your last post, Este, (Kel-Hound 7, Andalite
You did it perfectly right. In the new chart, Kel-Hounds have 22 HP and Andalites have 14 HP. Kel-Hounds are the size of rhinoceroses, btw. Don't worry about changing it, I'll just say it was a juvenille. Way to go Reli!
