Shaun walks out of the ship and goes and picks up Kage and puts him on his back and carries him to the ship. He then returns from inside the ship. <Okay this is nonsense we dont kill anybody that is part of the group unless they have betryed us and im pretty sure that Kage is in no condition to do that and Jim is just a kid who has no experience so why would he try and do that? He wouldn't plain and simple so now shut your mouth, get on the ship and if you have a problem with that you can kill me right here and now, but remember i will not go down without a fight then we have Reli who will gut you in a matter of seconds, so if i were you i would do what i say or i will put you on the ship myself conscious or unconscious it doesnt matter to me.>

Shaun then replied to Mesa privately,<And Mesa i know what happened to Tobias he was actually the one i wanted to meet the most next to Marco of course, but i will do my best to save myself from becoming a nothlit but i need to stay in morph right now to protect Jim and Kage.>
Marco: Now do you see why it's crazy to think we can beat the Yeerks? I mean, come on: We can barely beat zoo security.

Tobias: (now stuck as a hawk) They'll come. The Andalites will come. And until then...
Jake: (nods and wipes tears) Yeah. Until then, we fight.

Ayrow's ears prick up at Shaun's outburst. <Gut me?> He says, turning to face Shaun, undaunted by his Gorilla morph, <Conscious or unconscious? Those are bold claims, stranger, from someone who does not know which part of the galaxy they are in. Or which planets the Kelbrid occupy and the sectors they police. Or how to pilot a Kelbrid ship.> he says, stalking forward. <Make no mistake, 'friend', this is not an act of retreat or mercy on my part. The longer you champion your companions cause, the closer we come to the entire ship being alerted of our escape. Or would you prefer I take my friend here to one of the other four ships? I'm sure you can work out the nuances of psionic piloting, something that the Kelbrid are trained in for years.>

Ayrow turns back to the unconscious Ehruf, slapping him lightly. <Ehruf, come on!> he say, worry hinted in his voice, <I need you awake and morphed! There's been a change of plans!>

Ehruf's eyes slowly open. Wordlessly his barely conscious mind takes hold of Ayrow's instructions, and he begins to morph a Kelbrid once more.

<Then go ahead. We will use the other pods. There are plenty of viable pilots among us.>

Arhareli mustered enough energy to slowly, slowly morph the Kelbrid she had acquired.
Good thing blood contains DNA.

<I will only have enough energy to demorph, but not to morph again until I have eaten and slept.> Her voice was strained.
<In the meantime, if somebody else would be so kind and acquire a Kelbrid morph from one of these conveniently large blood pools, I would be appreciative.>

Reli walked over to Kage and carefully hoisted him up on her shoulder.

<Now everybody. For the last time. MOVE.>

Shaun knuckle walked into the pod. <You heard her lets get moving! Now!> Shaun couldn't believe how easily he was able to kill the Kelbrid he wasnt much of a violent person. I guess its everything that has happened over the past few days that did this to me. The way that Kelbrid's neck snapped under his arm made him happy almost it was a weird feeling to him but it made him feel like nobody could harm him, and now that i have all my body parts useful i can be of more assistance. Why couldn't i have this power forever i would be able to continue the fight and destroy all my enemies with it! The sick thing is i liked killing the Kelbrid!

Ayrow starts to slowly back away from Reli. <Ehruf... Morph faster. Now, please.>

Need food... humans too weak. Pemalites not worthy, Leerans belong to water. But the bladed one...

The Kelbrid's instincts and genetic memory hit Reli like a brick to the face, overwhelming her and making her hunger exponentially more urgent. But only some foods would be acceptable... only some essences could be taken to strengthen her Kelbrid body... the Hork-Bajir in her arms, unconscious, but a walking weapon...

Reli leaned down, preparing to rip into his shoulder with her beak.

almost as good as the four eyes and the tail of the Andalite, but they're herbivores... Her beak had only just drawn a line of blood down his arm, and she felt a gear shift in her mind.

Wait. Tail. Andalite.
<I am Andalite.>

Reli shook her head rapidly. She felt like she had been standing still, contemplating eating Kage, for hours, even if only moments had passed.

<On s-second thought... nobody else morph Kelbrid. The instincts- don't.>

She knew who and what she was, but that hunger was so insistent.

I stare at Reli, watching as she almost rips a chunk out of Kage. I can't say anything, though. Those thoughts... That Ke... They're both so... Hungry. Hungry and dark.

Jim is still slowly making his way to the ship, unaware of what has happened, while Kage is still deeply unconscious. For how long, no one knows.

Ayrow continues to look at Reli with caution yet relief.
<She tried to become Kelbrid. Didn't she?> Ehruf says weakly, his morph slowly finishing. <And we aren't dead. She's either very strong or we're very lucky.>

((Just a heads up. Kelbrid morph will require 2 Willpower rolls each time. Like controlling Taxxon hunger. Este only managed to snap out of it with two 9's. Kelbrid instincts got a 10. And Reli still drew blood. Kelbrid also have this habit of eating their dead.))

<The->
"khhhhhh..." Reli panted hard for a moment, trying to focus. She could suppress the instincts, but the hunger... it was making it so hard to think...

<The humans, Leerans, and Pemalites are safe. The Kelbrid doesn't want to eat them. But we need to get Kage awake enough to protect himself. As long as there is a Hork-Bajir present, the other three species don't interest the Kelbrid for food. I think if he wasn't here, though, the hunger would win out over the pickiness, or else I would have tried to eat Chris' lion morph. It's... can we just go now?>

She glanced at Jim, and a faint thought crossed her memory.
<Jim,> she whispered, <when we get in the pods, ask to acquire a Leeran. We'll go from there.>

Jim nods at Reli, still stunned.

In light of all these developments, we all enter the ship as quickly as possible.

Ehruf stands weakly and moves towards a panel of sorts. Initiate. Seal airlock, leave dock. Shaper permitted action.

There seems to be a common theme with Kelbrid technology. All the material is semi-organic, yet again, and jet black. The ship itself is twice the size of the cell with a series of six semi-organic pods lining the rear of the vessel. What seems to be a massive refrigeration unit dominates the left side of the ship, holding large quantities of not only raw meat, but also water.

As the ship pulls away, you see the exterior of the Scythe Ship for the first time. It appears to be the scaled head of a bird with a segmented body behind it. Three massive engines adorn its' rear while two large 'scythes' jut from either side of the 'neck' of the brid head. The ship itself has almost reached the orbit of a large planet, completely green with only one small ocean.

<Etheriper.> Ayrow says. <Far too close.>

A series of smaller ships line the exterior of the Scythe Ship, all presumably the same ship Ehruf is now piloting. They have the same segmented body, but the front area is triangular and segmented with small bladed appendages coming from the side of each segment. The entire design makes it look like a...

Yeerks. I say. The smaller ships all look like Yeerks.

Ayrow looks at me, <Hardly,> he snarls, <They are Kelbrid Dagger Fighters. We are in one currently.>

<You said there was a change of plans?> Ehruf asks, turning to Ayrow, <What did you mean?>

Ayrow motions to Kage and Jim. <They have been impregnated with Kel-Spawn. We can't take them home. We need to go to Feytheer.>

<Then they need to be put to sleep.> Ehruf says, nodding towards the semi-organic pods. <We jump in two minutes.>

Reli stepped over to where Ehruf was operating the controls. She payed close attention, memorizing what she could. Even so, her head was so foggy from hunger... she knew she'd be able to pilot one of these black monstrosities, but not with any degree of grace or precision.
Yaolin, I wish this were a normal Pod ship, or even a Bug Fighter! I also wish this Taxxon-hunger came with Taxxon-weaknesses... if Kelbrid were easier to kill, I wouldn't have to worry as much about the young ones. As it is, they would all be better off with Shredders used in their own human hands. At least they wouldn't look as appetizing... change subject!!

<Ehruf, what kind of weapons system does this bucket have?>

Ehruf turns to look at Reli, <The 'blades' along this ship charge, back to front, which results in a highly concentrated, directed electric burst. Kelbrid aim to disable ships. Not destroy them. More food, that way.> Ehruf ****s his head to the side, <Speaking of which, your scent says that you're hungry.> He motions towards the large quantity of meat, <Eat what you can. You'll need it. If it's not too much trouble, I'm going to need something to eat, also.>

Marty assisted Chris aboard the strange ship, thankful that the now remorphed Kelbrid was able to pilot it. He doubted that he would have been able to do anything, particularly if it was fully psionic. He was a little bothered by Reli's new morph. It may turn out to be useful, but it seemed perilous.  But he trusted Reli. "Put them to sleep?" he questioned. "I'm sure hoping you mean in stasis..." he says. He had to restrain himself from using a few choice words.

<Of course, and thank you.> Reli dug into one of the piles of meat and downed a piece the size of a large steak. It took the edge off her hunger, and her thoughts quickly regained a measure of clarity. She kept eating for a few moments longer, and finally she mentally felt like herself again. She knew better than to expect the hunger to go away completely.

<It's just a pity that when I demorph, I'll lose the benefit of the food. I hope we get someplace with vegetation sooner than later. And yes, Marty, he means stasis. I've had a hard time getting any useful information from the Kelbrid's genetic memory about these ships, but one of the few things I've gleaned is that those pods are designed for three purposes: long-term space travel, housing and sustaining injured crew, and storing food animals live to keep them fresh for long trips. They will be safe for both Jim and Kage. In fact, if somebody would go ahead and stand up Kage in one of the pods, it would probably be a good idea. I don't how badly I hurt him, but if he can't wake to morph and heal, we don't want him bleeding out or getting infected.>

They situation was good, for now. Jim and Kage were still alive, for now. Fisher intended to keep it that way. Now as their ‘dagger fighter’ cruised through space which was decently piloted by Reli in Kelbrid morph, who knew the wretched things were so food obsessed, Fisher felt more relaxed, content to sit back and listen to the banter.

Taking a glance out of the viewport, Fisher noted the curious design of the Kelbrid Scythe ship, it looked like it had a bad attitude. Fascinating though, Fisher almost wished for a photo to take. As the conversation between the Pemalite and Reli turned to weapons, his ears perked up and he tuned in.

Hearing about the Kelbrid’s preference of capturing rather than destroying, Fisher barked a satisfied laugh aloud.

“Well in that case it’ll be easier for us to smoke them if we ever have fleet engagements.” Then another topic popped into mind. Turning to Ayrow, he curiously asked “Hey, is there any weapons locker or an armoury me and my team can arm up at on this ship?”
"Now I can't speak for everyone; at least not until 'The Device' is completed."

<It occurs to me that it was the Kelbrid who took our weapons, and that in capturing other ships, they have also acquired the weapons of the creatures they used for food. I wonder what the odds would be of finding beam or ballistic weapons here...>
