((I rolled 7 for luck in defending against the lion attack. I also rolled for luck in keeping Reyna out of the lion's way, and got yet another 7. Here goes. :P))

GRWOOOOWRRRR!!!
One stalk-eye swiveled to the sound, which was getting rapidly closer. The eye widened and Reli pivoted to place Reyna as far from the approaching lion as possible. Reli slapped the lion hard on each side of his head. She didn't want to hurt him if she didn't have to-

<CHRIS, CONTROL YOURSELF!>

-one of the flat-strikes was at just enough of a wrong angle. It drew a bright line of blood across the lion's muzzle.
Curses.
The next strike, intended to trip all four paws, instead sliced deeply into one of the lion's ankles. Reli felt claws dig into several places on her body... some of them too close for comfort to where Reyna sat.

<Reyna, are you hurt?>

((I rolled 6 to control the instincts. I shall assume that that means he comes out somewhat dazed or shell-shocked.))
The sudden pain and Reli's mental shout brought Chris back to himself. <What have I done! Reli are you alright!? Reyna?!> Chris drew back and sat down on his haunches, shellshocked.

<I've had worse injuries from unregulated practice-fights before. I'll manage. In the mean time, I suggest you coax Shaun to demorph-remorph to heal, and you cover him while he does. Whether or not he realizes it, his gorilla is... broken... right now.>

Marty had frozen as the battle began. He watched his friends morph. He heard the Kelbrid calling out to each other. He saw the 'Pemalite' in morph attack. Then he snapped out of his daze. Someone called him. They wanted him to carry the morphed Kelbrid that had released them from their cell. He stalled, but only for a second before picking him up and tossing him on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. He then took off quickly down the hall ,in the direction pointed out to him, regardless of the extra weight.

"Marty! Wai-" I call out after him, but he's already gone, carrying the half-demorphed Ehruf.

<Here,> says Ehruf, weakly, after having been carried roughly six hundred meters. <The vessels... should be here.>
On the left side of Marty are a series of organic doors, nine in total, each presumably leading to a Kelbrid fighter.

It didn't take much more than the promise of a way off this blasted ship to get Fisher and his team moving. Walking quickly backwards to make sure no other Kelbrid were following them, they then turned and helped Marty hoist the wounded Pemalite, dragging it for a few hundred meters until they were at what must have been fighter bay doors or something like that.

Remembering how the prison had worked Fisher wheeled around to Lee.

"Lee, use your thought speak and open this damn door!"
"Now I can't speak for everyone; at least not until 'The Device' is completed."

Thought-spea-? I barely catch Fishers demand as I stay back to make sure the others are ok. Oh. Right.
<I can't!> I reply in thought-peak, which would hopefully carry further. <It seems to be tied to Leeran telepathy, or the Pemalite would have used his to escape! I'd need to demorph first!> Turning to Mesa, I say, <I can keep us covered with my blades, Mesa! Can you demorph?>

At one point, Fisher's men had caught up to Marty as he sped down the hall. When they decided to 'help' transport him, he didn't argue, though they did end up going noticeably slower while dragging him down the hall. Their injured rescuer told them they were near their best chance of escape, and Marty halted at the doors, if you could call them that. He stands by the door, allowing Fisher and his group to support the 'Pemalite'.

<Okay.> Shaun said to Chris as he concentrated on his own self and the changes began. The first thing he noticed to go was the fur and then the feeling of the power was drained from him and he started to want it back but continued his demorph. After about 2 minutes he was himself. "Okay ill go back to gorilla now." The process was started over again and the first thing to change was his hands and feet the leathery pattern appeared on his chest and face and he grew in size his arms changed and then his legs, lastly the fur sprouted and it was complete. <Okay Chris ill cover you now.>
Marco: Now do you see why it's crazy to think we can beat the Yeerks? I mean, come on: We can barely beat zoo security.

Tobias: (now stuck as a hawk) They'll come. The Andalites will come. And until then...
Jake: (nods and wipes tears) Yeah. Until then, we fight.

Arhareli moved quickly to the other side of the room, debating chasing the others up the hall to the escape, or else waiting here until Chris and Shaun were both remorphed.

I don't expect Chris to lose it again, but if he does, I can't leave him alone with Shaun... and neither of them is singly equipped to take down one of these Kelbrid without extra backup, not just yet.

<When you two are ready, go on ahead, and I'll pick up the rear. Please move quickly; there may be more of them coming. Reyna, I'm not a human, and I can't tell how you're faring unless you tell me. I'll get us out of here as soon as I can, and we can take stock of injuries and morph to heal them. Hopefully we'll find some food before everybody passes out from morphing fatigue.>

When Reli mentions food, a wave of hunger overwhelms me. With all the rcent developments my body hadn't had time to register that I had gone two days without food. Or water.
"We need supplies." I say, walking towards Fisher and the others, slowly demorphing as I go. "Let's just hope there are some on these escape vessels."

Jim starts to feel the same way. <I'm going to demorph. I don't know how big the ships are, but if they're anything like this hallway, I'm better off being human.> As quickly as he can manage, Jim starts to demorph.

Kage, however, remains motionless, still staring silently at the two Kelbrid bodies in front of him.

Marty looked at the door, as if frustrated that it didn't open already. He looked anxiously down the hall. Reli, with Reyna, was waiting for Chris and Shaun to finish demorphing before they came along to their exit. And Kage seemed frozen in place..... "Lee, get the door open, I'll go get Kage." Marty began walking briskly down the hall, back to Kage. Without a moment's hesitation, he reached out and gently grasped Kage's wrist tugging lightly in the direction of their escape route, saying, "It's okay now. We're going to be alright. We found a ship... Come with me."

Mesa was also frozen as the battle progressed.  She had to calm the leopard's mind, and by then there were no openings.  However, when Lee asked her to demorph, she bounded down after Marty and Ehruf, demorphing as she went.  In around a minute and a half, she was done.  Let's see... she mused, facing the doors.  Doors, open, she said.  Lee's questions had activated things, surely this would do the trick.

((rolled for whether or not the lion attack hit Reyna and got a 9))

Reyna clutches Reli's waist, her eyes wide as the battle commences around her. She finds herself wishing desperately that she had risked morphing wolf, but it is too late now. She is stuck quite literally riding the battle out. She seems to be doing well enough, but then Reli's tail snaps forward, halting Shaun and killing one of the Kelbrid. The speed of the Andalite's attack shocks Reyna and she almost slips off. Quickly correcting her balance, Reyna is met by another challenge. A lion is lunging for her - or rather, for Arheli. Once again, Reyna bumps and rattles, clinging for dear life as Arheli sidesteps the majority of the attack. Reyna shifts her weight to the far left, as distant from the reaching claws as she can manage. She feels the breeze of a claw as it narrowly misses her right leg, drawing only a small cut instead of the deadly gash it is capable of. She rights herself and looks around, eyes wide, preparing for the next attack...

...but none comes. The Kelbrid have been defeated and everyone seems to be planning their next move.

"Let me down," Reyna croaks, "I need to morph. I'm not...that was..." She cannot continue. Her teeth are chattering with fear and she feels incredibly exposed. "I'm getting down. Please."
