I haven't seen them in person, but I don't mind the pictures I've seen of the covers. They're different than the old ones, and that's not a bad thing. I do think that's it's kind of odd that they're re-releasing them so slowly, but I guess I do see the point that someone mentioned earlier that they're testing the waters. That makes sense. Honestly, I was half-tempted to buy them when they were started being re-released, but I already have the entire series (and yes, I do mean the entire thing, side-books included, even both Alternamorphs). So, that doesn't make any sense to me. I can't afford to start buying them again, anyway. I spent a long time getting the collection together, and I'm happy with it.

One question: is the new covers like the old ones? When you open the front cover, do you get a 2nd picture before the text?

...I have no idea if THAT even makes sense. =_=;

There is no inside cover illustration, sadly. It would have been a great opportunity for them to illustrate new and different scenes from the ones depicted back in '96. (1: Lizard in locker; 2: Fluffer McKitty on doorstep, ect.)

Noooooooooooooooooo oooo! All my fanart covers are in vain!

Ah well, guess I'll just do them as the old version and not the new ones.  :bored:

the holes in the front were interesting, but at least we don't have to worry about our books ending up like #3's cover.

What was wrong with #3's cover? Was the hole for the hawk image too big, and the cover tore easily? There were other covers with larger holes, right? Hmm... maybe that is the biggest cover hole.

And Vickie1, what exactly do you mean?

I've yet to see a copy of book 3 where the inside cover wasn't torn off :dull:

the size doesn't matter - the location of the wing was too close to the edge of the cover.

I should take a picture of mine, then! XD

My book 15 is my most torn up one, but that's because it was the first one I got, so it's had more days of getting shoved in my bookbag than the rest of them.

40 is pretty bad, too, but it's because of a manufacturer's deffect. They didn't use enough glue, so the cover comes right off.

I love the lenticular covers, but I feel like you have to hold the book at a really weird angle to see the starting and ending images clearly.  Did anyone else see that?

Also, The Invasion was in my sister's Scholastic book fair flyer, except the caption said "Cover changes from boy to alien!"  Ha.
