"Sure, you can go shopping. I'll let you take my..." Sean was going to offer Olivia his car, but he remembered that she couldn't be seen around town. "Um... You should demorph now. You've got eighteen minutes left." Maybe Josefina could go shopping for her.... Or maybe she could go shopping as Jo. He again felt somewhat sorry for her, since she gave up everything for people she'd known for ten minutes.
Brian got home in about ten minutes. He said hi to his mom and brother who was watching TV, and then went out the back door. Brian made sure no one was watching him, though he had no reason to be secretive. If anyone asked why he'd gone over to the compost barrel, he'd say he was looking for the pruning shears. His mom had been nagging him to trim the straggly bush under the window out front for a while, so it would be believable. There were flies all over the place by the side of the shed where the compost bin was, exactly like he'd expected. Within a minute, one had landed on his arm. Instead of swatting at it, he thought about it. Focused on it, like the others had said to do. The fly was still for a long time before it began to slowly walk along, finally flying off after thirty seconds or so. Had it worked? He wasn't sure. Should he try it, maybe in the bathroom? Again, he wasn't sure. Sean had said not to morph alone, and it was good advice. But still....
