"Tarry, are you going to die?" Jo asked.

Oh crud... "What wrong with Tarry? Kristen, you know what's happening?" Now he had to deal with a dying alien/parrot?!? Could he even take him to the vet safely? 'Sir, this is an alien... we don't treat aliens.' He could just see that conversation going so well. He knew he should have locked away all of his other stuff, but.. how was he to know that Tarry was going to get into the cabinets when there was a bunch of bananas on the counter? And why hadn't Sean noticed the coffee spill earlier? This wasn't helping anything. Stupid bird...

"I think he ate that...and caffeine is poison to birds...but I don't know, how to cure him!" Kristen said in frustration, rubbing her temples, trying to think.  She racked her brains...she had read it somewhere..."I...don't think...we can do anything..."

For the time being, Brian was worrying about their parrot pal. "Tarry, how are you feeling?" He was calm, simply asking his opinion. Everyone else overreacting wasn't going to help anyone. He didn't know anything about parrots, but well, this wasn't really just a parrot. Tarry had the advantage of being able to talk to them. And not just parrot squawk, either. Hopefully, he'd be able to tell them what was wrong, if anything. So far, he hadn't even said anything himself indicating something was amiss...

This was not helping Olivia's anxiety level.  If something was wrong she wanted to know what she could do to fix it.  But if there was nothing that could be done that would drive her insane.

<Hot> Tarry replied.  He was starting to become disoriented.  <My pulse is too rapid. I am losing control of my body.>

Tarry's shaking became worse.  He was having difficulty staying standing.

Biting his lip, Chad wondered if Tarry was okay. He didn't want to say anything yet, as pretty much everyone else was kind of worried about the sick alien parrot. Inside though, Chad was feeling pretty worried. His stomach churned. What would happen if their parrot friend died? "...drinking lots of water wouldn't help, would it?"

"I'll get some ice," Sean said.

"That might send him into shock. Which... he probably already is. Not water, not ice. Turn up the AC, but... not too much. Turn on the fan too." Brian said, reaching over his head to pull the chain, setting the ceiling fan higher. He spoke to Tarry, "This is just going to help get some air flowing, maybe help you cool down. Whoa... you're looking kinda woozy. Is it okay if we help you lay down?"

Sean was caught off guard by Brian 'taking charge'. He'd simply frozen up, really.

In reality, Brian had no idea what he was doing. What were the chances that first aid worked the same for birds? "Does that sound good to you, Kristen?"

"Water might not be the best for birds," she said.  "But we need to do more than the fan...caffeine...ca ffeine...this is serious guys."  Tarry then said something about his pulse being too rapid.  "Right!"  The passage from the book she was thinking about came back.  "His heartbeat is probably irregular..."

"What are we supposed to do about that?!" Brian exclaimed. He was pretty sure an AED would just deep fry Tarry, who was becoming visibly worse as the clock ticked by. "Okay, plan two. Um, let's fill the sink with some cold water. Maybe some ice. Yeah, yeah, put some ice in it."

See, I was right. Sean thought as he did so.

"Tarry, we're going to help you cool down. Will you let Kristen put you in some water? You probably won't like it, but don't worry. We're right here." Brian felt... odd... telling an alien warrior that it was all going to be okay as if he was a toddler. But chances were, he was going to go into shock, and his first aid training told him to 'keep reassuring the victim that you're with them'.

Kildor had gotten a cup of juice from the library refreshment center... he took a sip and tapped his toe. <Maybe they don't trust you, you big bad yeerk warrior.>
<Silence, Rightly> Kildor commanded, <I will make you pay if you continue to mock me.> Kildor scowled so intensely when he yelled at his host that a woman sitting across from him go offended.
Meh.

(((I do believe that I posted for the Yeerks with the Visser last.)))

"As much as I liked the plan for the Wickershams," Olivia began, "I don't think we can do it with Tarry sick."

"But that's Brian's family," Jo said.  "We can't let them be left to the Yeerks.  Even if they are Kildor's."

"We have to go to the pool." Brian said, expressionless. "I believe Kildor. If we help him, he'll help us. Maybe he isn't our friend, but at least he's business partner. If we don't help him, we have a lot more to worry about than my family." Now what to do with Tarry while we're down there....

Visser three's Andalite Eyes flared dangerously, and his tail quivered as if in anticipation of attack. <If you, as you so bodly claim, are the leader of this operation, then you will know what I am TALKING ABOUT! THE VERY FACT THAT YOU WOULD ASK FOR A LIST SHOWS THAT YOU ARE EITHER A LIAR OR A TRAITOR!>
Regalis leaned over and whispered something in the Visser's ear. The Visser three took several breaths, his andalite chest heaving, normally he would not have spared a fool such as this, but he wanted and needed information. <You three will give me a complete debriefing of the situation, and then you will  bring to me the Sub-Visser's former host. If any part of this is unclear I suggest you flee now, because if you ask a single question, I will morph a Grettin and Devour you whole.>
Meh.

Jo looked at Brian in utter shock.  "If Tarry came up with a mission to save my family I would jump at it.  You don't know what you are missing here.  You can spare yourself watching your mothers eyes look at you and knowing that she isn't behind them anymore.  Or having to fight them when Kildor turns on us, which he will.  To have that opportunity and not take it makes you..."  Jo had elevated her voice to almost yelling.  After a deep breath she continued quieter, "an ungrateful [censored]"

Wintium nodded.  "It would appear that while on a trip to the Caribbean, my host's daughter, Josefina Woodhouse, and some friends of hers acquired morph technology.  We heard of suspicion activity at the customs office that they came through, so we went to infest the workers.  One Olivia Rush escaped.  Is that the incompetence you speak of?  Because that was Jazar's fault."
