I was yanked back into consciousness by a sudden blast of cold.  I coughed and sputtered as the water ran off my face.

Oh, jeeze, owwww. Instinctively I reached up to the back of my head, checking for blood where whatever-it-was had hit me, only to discover my hands were bound together with a zip-tie; it was just loose enough to allow circulation, but still painfully tight. My head swam for a second as I sat up; I was in a cell... there was a ferret in the cage next to me.  Probably Cobra...

"Who are you, and why am I bound? I am just a tourist; I was on my way to Jerusalem to sight-see."

<Stop trying to fool us, miss Finch. We know who you are, and it may save you much trouble to come to grips with that realization.>

I glanced around the room; everybody else here was apparently human... or ferret, in Cobra's case... so who was using thought-speech?

Suddenly, across the narrow room, the wall shuddered, reality appeared to shift... holographic projection.  The wall vanished completely, and three beings stepped forward into the room.

I admit my jaw dropped.

Flanked by two shredder-armed Hork-Bajir... maybe others in morph?...

directly in front of me stood a lone female Andalite.

<Jay, I suppose at this point it will not hurt to allow the other to demorph, but shoot it if it so much as blinks funny without being told.>

One of the humans pressed a remote button, and the latch opened on Cobra's cage, giving him the chance to step out.

((ooc: I know that's probably more plot-hopping than you want or anticipate, and I'll be willing to alter it later with the consensus of the other players, but I'll be away again until Saturday-ish. I figure this will leave you something to use until my return.))

I hurried out of the cage and demorphed as quickly as possible. When I was fully human I turned and faced the andalite. "Where are we and what would an Andalite want with us?" I demanded. I glared at the Andalite as if daring her to order me to be shot. No andalite was going to scare me.

(I might just wait for your return or if Gorrilla posts. I don't like making up characters alot.)

EDIT: I turned to Finch. "Are you ok?" I sat next to her and secretly slid one of his concealed daggers over to her behind our backs.

I looked up from my drawings on the floor to see that their were two new people in the cells next to mine i saw they had weapons which wasn't going to end well i'd warn them but it would risk getting whipped again and i've been whipped to many times the scars on my back show for that.

I decided to sit and watch to see what would happen next.
Marco: Now do you see why it's crazy to think we can beat the Yeerks? I mean, come on: We can barely beat zoo security.

Tobias: (now stuck as a hawk) They'll come. The Andalites will come. And until then...
Jake: (nods and wipes tears) Yeah. Until then, we fight.

<You will all have to forgive us for the methods used to bring you here.  We sincerely regret the lack of hospitality...> Her voice was saturated with scorn, not regret.

<...That being said, the transportation went entirely as planned, and by morning, to the outside world it will look exactly like your plane was shot down by local hostiles.>

I silently cringed; it would be too much to hope for anything resembling a rescue party.

<You came here under the belief that you were doing infiltration work for the United States government; in reality that was a ploy to get you here without suspicion.  You, like other groups with similar skills before you, have been brought here for matters that exceed the international scale.>

(Okay, somebody else's turn to grab the plot-setup and take it someplace. :) My NPC is your NPC; make her say what you like.)

I looked at the other prisoners beside me and wondered if they would fight back or even utter one word because if they didn't i would have to step up to show my courage and bravery.

Cobra stood and addressed the Andalite. "What sort of matters?"
<You will find out later as it is you and the other prisoner-> She gestured towards the prisoner in the next cell over. <-will follow me. But you will not try anything!>
She turned and walked down the corridor she had come from. The door clicked open and I walked out the cell door on the next cell opened as well. I kept my knife concealed and hoped Finch did the same. I still didn't trust the Andalite.

I was shocked that the alien actually wanted me to go with this new guy, i have been a prisoner so long i forgot what it feels like to walk. I hope this guy doesn't try anything stupid because it won't go well for either of us, i thought. "I wonder where we are going i asked him."

Cobra nodded and replied, "So do I. So do I." He followed the andalite into a largeconference room with many species of aliens in it. Some that Cobra had never seen. They shared one trait: they all looked dangerous. He made sure he had his knife ready for if he needed it. <<You may want to sheath your blades.>> I complied. "What is it you want from us?" <You have been selected to be part of a special force to combat a new enemy that has appeared. The Howlers have returned in force.> The andalite let her statement sink in.

((Beautiful progression of plot; thank you! :) ))

I failed to suppress a sharp gasp.  The Howlers... we had all read the histories, and it was common knowledge how close the Howlers had come to completely destroying the original Animorphs.

"But... the Howlers were supposed to be extinct. How could they have returned?  And how are we of all people supposed to be able to do anything about it? It looks like you already have a powerful force here, and and they all look more capable than just a few humans with morphing skills."

There was a moment of silence as the rest of the creatures in the room eyeballed Finch and I. I turned to the andalite. "Yes, what do you want from us." <As much as I hate to admit it, Humans are the best at adapting to a situation and you are some of the best humans at that. We need you for strategy.>

<You will be given the ability. For the time you were imprisoned we were testing you. You have proved that you are strong for a human.> She turned to me. <I, Jenmia-Firaguth-Shemali, asked you to join this group to destroy the Howlers.>

"Assuming what you say is true, what threat do the Howlers pose Earth, at this particular moment? If they aren't nearby, in a relative sense, then this sounds like an offworld mission... I didn't sign up for that, and there are others more capable than me. If they are nearby, then we are already wasting too much time chatting here."

<It isn't going to be offworld. The howlers are coming. They will be here in a day or two. They just confuse a planet in a neighboring system. Our intelligence says they are regrouping before coming. But there is an outpost of them in the desert and the invasion may be deterred if we wipe out the outpost.> I looked at Finch and then looked back to the Andalite "I'll do it, Jenmia-Firaguth-Shemali."
