:( I kept trying to convince my cousins to read from 1 onward, but it was hard to give them access to all the books.

Now their mother won't let them read non-fiction unless it's a "classic" in the way that Alice in Wonderland is a classic. D:

Yeah it's just not gonna happen. Disappointing.

I get a copy of The Weakness today. Not my favorite book but it's one I didn't have.

I never got MM#1 back to the person I loaned it to, lol.

I love #37 because Marco's just so spot-on during it, and runs the gamut of his many hats. Group sense of humor who watches kids' TV? Uncooperative, immature, petulant, brutally honest jerk? Paranoid and hesitant strategist? Pain in the neck? BAMF with a cobra morph? It's all in there! It tickles my fangirlishness in all the right places.

Also, HAWKS DROPPING SNAKES. That has to be the most terrifying thing to be a victim of, besides maybe jumping sharks.

Personally, I felt that Rachel was alright in #37 if you read it as "I resent authority and don't want to take orders from Marco" instead of "I wanna be leader!".

Reason to get friends to read Animorphs: So someone else gets why random things make you smile.

That's what I told my friend who's on #6. :P I need someone to practically trip over random references with me! XD Like yesterday: Reading The Week magazine, and discovered Airplane! is going to be on AMC on Saturday.

My first thought: Marco watched that in #54!

Does the Animorphs remind you guys of the Power Rangers? I dunno. With the Morphing and all. I can imagine the scene. The Animorphs and Ax(the White Ranger) cornered by Hork Bajir and Jake says

"It's Morphing time!"

I'm just a writer, and my main goal was always to entertain. But I've never let Animorphs turn into just another painless video game version of war, and I wasn't going to do it at the end. I've spent 60 books telling a strange, fanciful war story, sometimes very seriously, sometimes more tongue-in-cheek. I've written a lot of action and a lot of humor and a lot of sheer nonsense. But I have also, again and again, challenged readers to think about what they were reading. To th

I'm actually really disappointed that KA never had Marco or someone else reference Power rangers. Maybe she never watched it, or didn't like it. It's possible. I definitely would have put that one in, if not make it a catch phrase for someone.

So, I was watching VH1 the other night, and they sometimes have a "new singles" spot during the commercials where they show like ten seconds of a video. The Goo Goo Dolls have a new song out, and I remembered that Tobias and Rachel dance to a Goo Goo Dolls song in #33. Then I spent an inordinate amount of time wondering which song it was. Probably Iris.

Tobias totally would be a Goo Goo Dolls fan. I'm surprised they made it through the whole series without a single mention of Green Day or No Doubt, both of whom would have been popular in middle/high school then.

What music do they each like? Off the top of my head.

Tobias likes Goo Goo Dolls. Jake likes The Offspring. Cassie doesn't really like Nine Inch Nails. Marco likes Offspring, Alanis Morissette, Nine Inch Nails, The Ramones (enough to list them!) and Bob Marley and dislikes The Spice Girls and Hanson. I don't think we ever hear from Rachel. Ax dislikes all human music.

I could see Rachel having Britney Spears and NSync CDs in her room for her mom and sisters to see, but secretly enjoying speed metal. She could hide the Slayer, Metallica and Megadeth CDs under her mattress.

Going to the zoo is kind anti-climactic when the one around here doesn't have a roller coaster. :-\
