Andalites -- they're so intelligent and those tails are awesome.
I also have a special thing for Taxxons...but Andalites are better.

lol and you, you love parasites who love @_@
And yes, I'm a Yeerks-lover ;)

Andalites are intelligent... but not really wise...
And look... May be Andalites are intelligent, and have a very good technology. It's true, it's wonderful! (I also like Andalites ;) ) but they needed a lot of years... of century for that. Even them said that Humans need less...
Look at the Yeerks now. They didn't know to build anything (or about anything), they didn't know there were stars in the sky... then they meet Andalites... and in few years only they understood how to use the Andalite technology, they copy it, and they even change it to suit them more...
Andalites are the most intelligent... but Yeerks learn really too quickly ^_^'
And neither of them is the wiser... The wiser is... Ellimist, I guess! lol

PS: Really, Katherine and Michael did a good serie... every species have good parts and bad parts... every one have "defects" and "qualities"... Many choices, and look, about everybody vote for a different one! lol

Hehehe, yes, that's all the Yeerks want...is to be loved! Just give 'em a big hug and the war's over!  ;D

That's more like the Howlers I guess... ??

I loved how no one species was pure good or evil, even the Taxxons had rebels who helped in the end.  Yay, good hearted giant centipedes!

I love the Andalites, they're so intelligent and efficient in battle. Then the Hork bajir, Ketrans and Leerans are also very cool.

Hork-Bajir.  :hork: They're just so sweet and innocent. It's hard not to love them.

I voted Ketrans. Personally I don't really care for the Andalite's unadaptable mindset or their prejudice against vecols. My choice for favourite alien species is not just about fighting potential (which for Ketrans was virtually non-existent). They're not massively technologically advanced and only 1 member actually advanced further than any other.

They have an interesting occupational caste society and due to their almost symbiotic relationship with their crystal environment they have developed a supportive community. "Lift for all". Unlike the Yeerks who have no qualms with usurping other species' lives or betraying each other for their own selfish benefits. Yeerks even callously destroy their environment.

The Ketran also have advanced games! I think a species that doesn't develop games or entertainment is rare. (Where entertainment equates to art form too.) The Andalites have their tail blade practice (game), their pride (self-sacrifice) for their species and they take joy in looking after their environment. In their natural states, Yeerks just...swim I guess for entertainment. Even non-sentient races like lion cubs play with each other. Yeerks in their natural state are quite limited.

The Hork Bajir I look on as similar to Howlers. Both are capable fighters but both end up being pawns because of their lack of intelligence. The Leeran and Mecora are on the opposite ends. Both intelligent species (one through telepathy the other scientific endeavour) however they're less capable physically. These 4 species I treat more with pity than favour.

The Ketrans are one of the very few sentient flying races which I think makes them value freedom. Living with an extra dimension (as opposed to land species with just 2D movement for the most part) means you also think more open mindedly. Obviously, I would consider them highly intelligent which is one of the virtues I quite value.

I do also like the Pemalites and Chee but sadly we don't really know too much about them.

Obviously since we're only human, there are definite aspects to each of these species that we can relate to (otherwise Applegate really would have an alien imagination!) The Ketrans to me have the most positive aspects of humanity, our scientific curiosity, adaptability, our entertainment/arts, and an idealistic caring social nature without the need to destroy the environment or put one's own agenda ahead of the community. Maybe such extreme idealism exist only in fiction. The only other species like the Ketran were the Pemalites and both species end up being wiped out.

Just out of curiosity, who else voted Ketran?

"People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true. That's how they define "reality". But what does it mean to be "correct" or "true"? Merely vague concepts… their "reality" may all be a mirage. Can we consider them to simply be living in their own world, shaped by their beliefs?"
