Back on-topic, has anybody managed to get Applegate's opinion or Grant's opinion on this? I would love to see whether they back Scholastic or RAF.
I'm guessing that they are quite aware, considering MG follows Rich on Twitter, along with Jake. Back in the day when we got them to come answer questions, they said they can't give us permission to do the books, but at the same time they weren't going to tell on us either (or something to that effect).
But another point I want to make, is that these new re-releases won't be the same as the eBook versions we had (content wise). Wasn't it said that there were going to be a re-release with new covers
and updates?, as in updates to the content. Remember, these books were originally written when other things were popular. ex:
References in books to Walkmans will be changed to iPods or something, because think about it, how many grade 2 kids out there REALLY know what a Walkman is??
So, that being said, will the ebooks that we have now, be considered NOT the same as what they're republishing? I know that if I wanna go read an Animorphs book (and I didn't have the physical copies), I would want to read it like
I remember, the way I read it back in the day, which this reprint cannot provide. But again, the books are property of Scholastic and they do own the copyright, and nothing will change that...
But a question that I would like to ask KA/MG (going off topic a bit here) is if the new print will be set back then, or will it be set in 2011 for example? Cause I ain't readin no books where Jake is a kid TODAY. lol
Anywho... I made a topic a LONG time ago about my local thrift stores having a bunch of the first twenty-something books, that I would be willing to send your way if you want. If you want one, I can look, but remember: this is from a thrift store. a $2.50 CAN (plus s&h) book in most likely rough shape, may not be worth your money.
