And it's not only same-species. Remember when Marco was doing it by accident?
Yeah, but those were completely random. and none of them were useful. In fact KA used this as an answer to why the animorphs don't mix morphs. Because you end up with a bunch of useless parts. like a lobster out of water, or an osprey that needs to be in water to survive.

ax's human morph doesn't count. you're not mixing animals. You're mixing humans. It's almost like giving birth to a human. DNA from two humans. you get some from each parent and you create a new human. Mixing animal DNA, would be like two different animals mating. Hmm...I wonder if the animorphs could use the frolis maneuver to combine lion and tiger dna into a liger?

strangely, I once found some animrophs books in the fantasy section...

Marco also wasn't thinking right in that book, which is why that was happening in the first place.

If the mix was intentional, and someone with enough talent and skill tried it, then there's a stronger chance that it'll work.

Because it would mean creating a situation where they meet these creatures, and as a general rule you can't jump genres from science fiction to fantasy.  High technology and magic just don't mix.
So no, in my opinion it would make no sense whatsoever.

Just send the Animorphs to visit the planet Pern, which is choc full of dragons!

How to get a centaur: Acquire DNA from a human and a horse, and combine them.  Ditto for harpies, griffins, mermaids, and other mixed species fantasy creatures.

Well, if the universe is infinite, there probably is a planet where fantasy creatures exist. Maybe the Animorphs could find it in their travels in the Rachel.

...They all ostensibly die in the Rachel, pretty soon after christening it.

Person Of Interest re-watch.  Still stunning as ever.

Although we obviously don't see that for sure.

Whoever has the Latios icon, nice :)

Hmmm I've thought about this a lot, the centaur bit of course and it would have been nice but again there was really no fit or need for it unless they went over to Greece or that because that'd be the only place that would be "logically" correct in a way. Now would it be interesting? Possibly for me if they had centaurs but Ax is one kindof so that works for me. Could they use the myth morphs a lot? Not really unless they wore a mask and trotted into battle like in Narnia but in public everyone would see it's either real a prank or they've been drinking to much beer or coffee.

All in all it WOULD be fun/neat to have seen it happen but that's why there are things called fanfictions and you can make your creations come alive...or just roleplay them too.
