Ax doesn't have any sense of homour so he will not laugh or even smile, so I think she'll just believe he have the same problem.

Unless she's so sensitive she thinks he won't give up on the joke. Too many stutters makes for annoying reading for me. IMHO. Besides, once Ax is no longer amused by the sound, he doesn't do it again. People with true stutters stutter more often than not, Ax does it sporadically.

She's got to be a little forceful and in control as well since I doubt Ax is going to know what exactly a chick wants to do.  Otherwise I can't see how they'd stay a couple long enough for a story.

I'd like to go back to her being different from rachel and Cassie. Instead of being forceful, like rachel might be, I'd make her talkative. She would talk enough about herself that ax gets a good idea of what she likes and wants.
