I don't think describing exactly what Erek did in there would have been a good idea.   :o  I mean, he killed, what, 50-60 people?  Like a third of them humans?

That alone makes it the most intense knock-down drag-out standing battle in the entire series.  With a target audience of 12 year olds, you don't exactly want to be describing the canine android pulling people's heads from their shoulders, etc.

But the way it was structured works really well.  Fade to black, open on scene of building with eerie smoke and tales of destruction.  Scares the hell out of anyone.

“He is very wise man and very strong - although perhaps not so strong as his father Barbara.  Tough guy!" - Borat, on President Bush.

With that, I definitely concur.  The series certainly had its moments...

actually I would have loved that description

/sick fascination with violence

I think we have Animorphs to thank for that lol

I do remember one time Marco is fighting with one hand while using his other hand to hold in his guts lol

Maybe because Marcos morph was so close to human they thought it would hit home more. Reading about losing a paw or a tail isnt quite as visually graphic or jarring than spilling guts or a gash across the chest.

Yea the way they did that scene in #10 was fantastic. They could have described it and it would have been gruesome, but in the end it would have gotten kinda repetitive and wouldnt have really covered the scope of his actions. Instead they cut to five little kids who have to relay what just happened with horrified looks while erek sits alone in shame and horror. Much better lol

I agree, I think that scene worked fantastically the way it was executed, but I still have to question, exactly how did he cut through 50 Hork-Bajir and a dozen or so humans in all of two minutes?

Maybe imagining how is the point
I go off topic on purpose.

It's shown in book 17 that he can move extremely fast. And it's said that his planet's gravity is stringer than Earth's. So he's quite strong as well. He ran from California to the bottom of the ocean in ten minutes, if I'm correct.

well not exactly run. you can't run on water no matter how fast, at least I don't think you can...

and I don't think erek was even in book 17...

27. Yeah. And I'm not saying he ran on water. I'm saying through, which would be difficult to do. Water has a tendency to impede movement.

He's a super-strong, super-fast, super-advanced android from another planet.  Taking all that as a given  ::) , his ability to destroy even hundreds of enemies at once somehow doesn't seem like that much of a stretch...  ;)

you can't exactly run through water either. you can run along the bottom of the ocean but you can't exactly run through water...

Sorry, Morf, but I think you might be being a tiny bit too literal. Erek either ran on the ocean floor or swam really fast. Considering his weight, he probably ran.

If you're running along the bottom of the ocean, you're still running through water. But that's not the point. The point is that erek is frickin' fast.

True, but what we're saying is that... even if he's running on ocean floor, there's still water all around him. Thus, he's running THROUGH the water. That's being precise.

running through water isn't necessarily on the ocean floor. it could also be floating in the middle of the ocean and running, which would be getting nowhere...
