I don't think any of the characters came off as gay. You can talk about gay people and stuff without being gay. I would definitely keep them all straight, but that won't stop the shipping fans from doing whatever they want.

I'm with Think on this, when did the guy who went into self imposed exile over the death of his girlfriend become gay? Are you asking whether or not they should make him gay? To what end? I don't see it increasing ticket sales, in fact I see it getting the movie banned from Utah which would mean I wouldn't get to see it  :'(

It would totally screw up the whole Tobias/Rachel relationship, so no. Not make him gay. Especially if the movie miraculously turns out spectacular, and JFalcon can't see it. If there's a good Ani movie out there, my bud JF needs to see it.

I'm from Alabama, and my grandmother is that way. Homosexuality is plain wrong, aliens can't possibly exist because the Bible doesn't mention them, and there won't be any animals in heaven because only Humans have souls. Could you imagine a perfect afterlife with no nature at all?

Unless you're reading into some ridiculous "subtext", there's no hint that Tobias could be gay. He likes Rachel a lot.

Chad, my maternal grandmother (I've never met my paternal grandmother -- died before we were properly introduced, but I digress) is quite similar -- basically throwing a fit when an American, Muslim government official was sworn in on the Koran instead of the Bible  -- that's basically the tip of the iceberg.

Anyway, I digress to the topic.  I do not nor did I ever think Tobias is gay, not that I'm against homosexuality but I think it is not in his character.  Besides, KAA didn't say he was, like JKR outted Dumbles.
