Animorphs: An alternate future

Ana nodded. "I will." She turned off and ran after him quickly. She was able to move fairly fast, but she ran rather solidly and could be heard as she moved.

[Cloak]

Shadow realized that he might be followed . . . he dove into a small recess, never leaving the shadows.  He closed his eyes to sense the aura of the creature pursuing him.

She stopped after a minute, breathing. Her eyes went this way and that, as she tried to determine where he might have gone. "Come out, please. If you are not a creature set to harm others, I will not kill you. However, if you do not come out, or if you wish others harm, I will destroy you, bounty or no."

[Cloak]

Shadow let out a series of snarls and growls, which meant in the Chitiger language, "How did I know I should trust you?  You could be one of those world-destroying parasites.  There auras were blue --"

But, no, it was not true.  They had blue auras and red auras.  Shadow realized that none of these creatures had that small red aura. . . . Could he possibly trust them?  If they were in league with his enemies their auras would be reddish. . . .

She smirked and started slowly edging his way, prepared for battle. "I'm afraid I don't have enough for my translator to work," she coaxed. "Would you mind repeating that?"

[Cloak]

Shadow did not coax well.  He pulled out his sword, but despite what the creatue may have thought, deftly sank into a bladed creatures neck lurking behind it.  Shadow had decided to trust this creature -- but just barely.

(let's move the story along we need to get off the moon and decide how to proceed)
Yarin stood before his ship and turned to three beings before him. "We need to get off this moon that much is clear but where should we go?"

So no one else can join now?

"Thank you," she said calmly, nodding at him. She had seen it, but it hadn't presented a threat to her. Not at that second.
"We should attempt to see if there are any rebels still alive." She didn't add that some of what she had done involved tracking down rebel Yeerks. She wasn't sure if any had survived. And if they had, she wouldn't know where they could be.

Shadow was well aware that she was hiding something, but as her aura was still friendly, Shadow found himself not caring.  He felt exhausted emotionally and mentally.

They all boarded Yarin's ship and flew it down to the nearby planet.
