Melissa was described as small with a gymnast physique and pale blonde hair. I know because I asked the same question not long ago.

And I think my feelings on the matter are clear considering I made her an Animorph in the fanfiction so there you go.

Hmmm... there seems to be a real significant core of Melissa fans.
Wonder if KA would have predicted this many would connect with her.

she said she didn't. originally, she was supposed to be just some irrelevant character...

If Melissa had been introduced in a much later book, say... any time after the first ten, then I'm sure  not as many people would have connected with her because everything would have been established. As it was, she was introduced in the second book of the series, so most people didn't know what would stick around and what wouldn't and were still getting connected to the characters. They had no way to know that Melissa wasn't someone they should get attached to.

Applegate also didn't go real much to her character though, so I didn't have a chance to get close to her.

I'm sure she would hold something interesting, with a family background like that. I can see drama and irony and those Hollywood stuff potentially go around her but then, maybe 6 member is enough. Maybe.

Personally I kinda regret she was THAT irrelevant.

Yeah, that's how I felt. I mean, there wasn't much point in that book at all if they weren't setting Mellissa up to have a bigger role. Like as a nonmorphing Human ally or something. Has anyone ever wondered if it would be better for her to be the Erik of the series?

You know, if she wound up being the android, instead of a guy from a different family.

Well for her to be the Erika she would have had to be yeerk resistant or a human who could control yeerks of course that brings the problem of why the yeerk's would go in her head in the first place.

Yeah. Maybe she would have been adopted. That's about the most realistic thing I can think of. If his wife was an android, he'd eventually find out. I would think.
