Issid shrugged. "My seat kept me secure, so I am unharmed. I feel fine. I'm happy to wait for you two, though." She sighed, touching the weapons controls again. "Do you think it's even worth it to go after him? How can we possibly catch up at this point, when we still have to swap ships, get some medical attention, and figure out exactly where he's going?"

She could feel Elayne rifling through these strange dreams still; now she was lingering over a conversation she had had with a man--no, a strange being--named Mar.

<You were the leader of a Yeerk activist group?> Issid snorted, amused by the information this new memory had brought to the surface. <Sounds about right.>

<Why would you say that?> Elayne asked cautiously. Her thoughts kept drifting back to the moment she had written down the names of the Animorphs, something which was providing Issid with no end of amusement.

She chuckled. <You hate me, but not because I'm a Yeerk. You hate me for not being Essam.> Her laughter only intensified when Elayne had nothing to say in response.

((Awesome, forgot how big the ship was. Sorry. :3 And welcome back Patty! Nice to see ya! :D ))

Keshin glances around him and breathes a sigh of relief. He also takes this moment to actually get a good look around his surroundings in this hallway. He was too panicked by the ship tostling around to do so before, and the hallway is far too close to the bridge area. Keshin curses and moves farther back down the hallway. <...we have to keep a handle on what they're planning to do, and it sounds like they want to switch ships now. Judging from that impact, this thing isn't going anywhere for a while. The problem is deciding whether or not we want to follow and attempt to screw them over from inside.>

<.....tricky, Kess. There's a good chance they could intercept the weird lil' guy, an' that's a problem for us. Sort of. But there's too many of 'em, an' we dunno enough about the other ship.>

<...we have to see the ship before we make any kind of decision. Maybe we can determine if we can hide on it for a couple days by looking at it. This whole job is turning out to be way more complicated than I expected.>

<That always seems to happen, don' it?>

Mar frowns at Claxter's statement and then shakes his head roughly, staring at him. It bothers him for some very vague reason. Mar then sighs a bit, holding his head. "I hate to defend this wretch, but there is no way in Hael that Terenia would do anything to hurt that woman or even cause too much trouble for her. If Terenia's tale is to be believed as the complete truth, the only thing she would be doing would be putting their lives in danger by escaping a very powerful Visser. Not smart, but nothing she has done so far has been. Keeping her away from the only thing she cares about would not be wise on the part of Ossanlin or you, my dear boy."

Mar then turns to Terenia, an unsympathetic but not a cruel look on his face. "You can only blame your own stupidity and obliviousness to the world for what happened. But that doesn't really make you at fault so much as it makes you an idiot. I would personally blame the hateful creature at the heart of the current matter. As for what happened..." Mar shakes his head. "...it would be much too difficult to explain. Suffice it to say that Ossanlin and the others must move quickly before the change is irreversible."

Myitt smiles briefly.  "I don't think Terenia's going to get very far with Mar around, either.  Don't worry about the seat, my friend, I'm more concerned about your ribs," she says firmly, adjusting the ship's speed and correcting for drag, lowering them closer to the bar.  The engines whine in protest.  "Oh, great, I hope that doesn't mean you need new z-drives," she whispers, craning her neck to look at another one of the five screens now demanding her attention.  After sliding two of the screens off to the side, the main viewscreens provide a much better vantage point of the approaching treetops below them.

"Nah, Elayne, I think we should at least try for it," Myitt replies, hands still tight on the manual controls.  "Otherwise, if he is from our universe--if we're all from the same universe--who knows how you will change, if he succeeds?  Isn't that all part of the Andalite theory of n-dimensional reverberant entropy correction?  All highly theoretical, of course, like some human science-fiction movie...but we can't take the chance of losing you and losing our Earth-based allies."  She pauses, lowering the spidery landing gears.  "Whoever they really are."

The Skimmer trembles nauseatingly as it lands, closer to the bar this time.  The gears touch down onto the gravel and Myitt shuts down the main engines, exhaling in relief.

"Well, kids, that was fun, wasn't it?" she says flatly, unhooking her restraints.

((Welcome back Patty!!  Yay! :D  And Kelly, you know, if Kess just stays on this rebel ship...filled with valuable and highly encrypted information...no, forget I ever said anything...xD))

"Excuse me?" Terenia asks Claxter, whipping her head around as he butts into their conversation, "I thought the whole reason you were on board with this psychotic mission in the first place was to get me out of Efaen's head. What do you propose I do, spend the rest of my life in a pile of sludge? Not that I'm particularly fond of the idea of living in Tammy's head, but I was under the impression that was your brilliant plan."

<Do not act like you ever intended to relinquish me,> Efaen says stiffly, <you mean to keep me by any means possible.>

<Oh shut it,> Terenia scowls, <they don't have to know that.>

To Mar, Terenia responds more carefully. She's still unsure about the vibe she is getting from him, but it makes her anxious. It is quite clear that he dislikes her immensely, and that very fact is what keeps her talking to him.

"So I'm an idiot now as well as reprehensible? I'm a reprehensible idiot," she nods grimly, "any other insults you care to throw out there while we're on the topic? May as well lay all your cards on the table right now, eh?"

<After seeing your life, I doubt that you would be willing to let anyone under your clutches go. Personally I'm losing interest in whatever happens to you. You haven't given me enough reason to care. Personally I'm tempted to put you in a cage, starve you out, and pretend you never existed. It isn't like anything you've done has been contructive, and no one would miss you.>

Claxter began to wonder why he was saying such things. Why he felt like being cruel. Maybe because trying to be nice was getting him nowhere, and if she wasn't going to cooperate willingly maybe she would cooperate through fear. Visser Three seemed to be quite successful doing just that.

"I never wanted you to care in the first place," Terenia says in exasperation, rubbing her forehead with one hand. All of this back and forth is beginning to grow old, "besides, what in my memories suggested to you that I am incapable of letting someone go? I have never intentionally harmed anyone out of malice."

She sighs heavily and stands abruptly. The barstool squeaks loudly as it rubs against the wooden floor, "you're right, Claxter. This is all growing quite tedious. In fact, I'm sorry I bothered any of you. I'll be off now."

Terenia throws enough money on the bar to pay for her burger and fries, her and Mar's drinks and some extra. She gives Mar a small smile, "there's enough there for another glass or two, on me. Sorry to trouble you with my reprehensible idiocy." With that she strides past Claxter and towards the exit.

Myitt sends a quick text-based comm link message to Corliss, alerting him to the situation.  Then she stands up and opens the main hatchway.  The ramp lowers itself to the gravel with a hydraulic hiss.

"We don't have much time," she says tersely.  "Let's get moving."  She glances at Elayne and Ossanlin briefly, then walks toward the hatch, stepping down the ramp.

Issid released the straps holding her in the seat and stood, unable to prevent herself from turning her head away from Ossanlin as she passed him. Her nose wrinkled as if she smelled something foul. <Andalite filth walking free in a Yeerk ship. It's unnatural,> she complained to Elayne.

<If you want to leave me to infest him, I won't be upset,> her host murmured dryly. It seemed she had set aside the dream-memories for the moment, taking more interest in the here and now.

She scoffed. <In your pathetic dreams. I would no sooner enter an Andalite's head than-->

<Spare me, please. I've heard it before. You might want to pay attention,> Elayne said. <They're giving you strange looks. It appears you're not assimilating to this new situation well.>

<Shut up,> Issid snapped, but recognized that Elayne was right. She raised her head and stopped stomping quite so heavily along the gravel as she followed Myitt.

Myitt look back at Elayne, curiously, as they walk along the gravel landing area.  "Are you sure you're feeling alright?  I mean, granted, we just lost the one person who could've redeemed your regrettable little act of betrayal.  You just seem sort of...I don't know.  Quiet."

Ossanlin follows Myitt out of the ship, glancing at Elayne who is exhibiting some very strange behavior.  He gallops to catch up to Myitt and glances at the Bar, seeing Terenia exiting.  <Oh for the love of the Homeworld....>  He looks at Myitt and shakes his head.  <Myitt, would you please take care of her....I know you don't share my views of her, I'm asking you as a friend to help me with her for the moment.  I'll get to the Mirage and start the takeoff protocalls...detsek, what a mess.>

<I really don't think Efaen being hunted by Visser Three's assassins is worse than being repeatedly tortured by him because you let it happen.> Claxter said while following her. <If you aren't sooperating, I see no reason to give you the chance to botch up a good plan. You are suicidally stubborn. I just can't fathom you at all.>

Claxter notice Ossanlin in the distance. <What happened, sir?>

He wasn't worried that terenia would get away. All she would accomplish was being taken in by the Terrenian.

Issid looked to Myitt when she addressed her and nodded with a smile. "I'm fine. You two do whatever you need; I'll meet you inside when you're ready." She changed her trajectory to the door to put more space between herself and the two Andalites who had just left the Bar--<This place is just crawling with them,> she muttered to Elayne--and walked inside.

<"Crawling,"> Elayne smirked. <Interesting word choice for a Yeerk. Well, it seems this place--> Whatever she was going to say was lost as she noticed Mar seated at the bar.

Issid immediately backpedaled. On second thought, I'm going to wait in my ship... if it's even here, she decided, turning back for the door. If her dream-memories indicted there was one individual who could see through the changes in her, it would be Mar. Not to mention something about him felt incredibly unsettling to her, even from across the room.

((I may be a little out of pocket this weekend, as I'm going to be out of town with a hotel room that probably has free wi-fi, but I'll try to check GESB a couple times a day.))

Myitt nods and watches Elayne walk off toward the bar.  She looks back at Ossanlin.

"What, am I Terenia's babysitter now?" she asks with a smirk.  Then she sighs.  "Alright, I'll go talk to her.  But let's keep an eye on Elayne, too, okay?  What you said about her...her aura or whatever...I don't like screwing around with the laws of space-time, there's no way to tell how it will affect her."

Myitt walks along the stretch of gravel toward the bar entrance, waving to Terenia as she, Myitt, approaches her.

"Hey," she says, rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly.  Terenia did not seem to be in a good mood.  "You missed the fireworks."

((No worries Marie :D  Have fun!!))

Terenia, who had been storming in the general direction of the forest, snarls wordlessly at Claxter's comment. She continues to walk towards the forest until she reaches the tree-line, where she stops and throws herself down at the base of a tree. She tears a leaf off of a low-lying branch and begins to tear it into strips methodically. When she sees Myitt approaching she wads up the strips and crushes them in a tight fist, grinding them to nothingness in her frustration.

"What, are you here to make sure I don't run off and spoil the Andalite's grand plan?" she asks sourly, ignoring Myitt's comment about fireworks, "you people do realize that I am an adult, right? I don't need you people to hold my hand every time I cross the street."

"Ossanlin and I just want to make sure you know we haven't given up on our psychotic little plan to help you," Myitt replies, seeing no point in lying.  "As far as I'm concerned, his 'grand plan' is to get your sister back.  He can make that happen.  Some of us are risking our lives to help you, so if you are a mature person, try and accept it without crying about it."

She sighs.  "We've got another situation on our hands, now.  It looks like that Imperial drone, Sukohn or whatever his name was, has gone off to try and wipe out the Earth-based resistance force.  The so-called Andalite bandits.  Unless we're incredibly lucky, their destruction might change everything for us.  And for Earth.  Do you understand?"
