Joanne nods at Ossanlin's comments slowly, continuing to sip her juice. "Yeah, I'd say Furball's comments are about right. Only he forgot to mention that with all these wack-jobs in the same place, sometimes fightin' breaks out. It's usually small-time stuff, though. Unless a real powerhouse hits the Bar.  The other good part, least for me, is that sometimes somebody with rank or money'll show up. Real easy to get jobs here."

Joanne walks over to Ossanlin with a slight smirk. "What's your names, anyway? I can't jus' keep callin' you guys Furball all day."

<I-I didn't say I deserted....did I?> Claxter said, flustered. He either slipped up, or the older Andalite had seen right through him anyway. <Ok. I confess to have deserted. I'm a...a coward. And I'm too afraid to go back and restore my honor. I want to fight Yeerks, and I don't mind taking orders, but my Prince is rather cruel. He shoved me into a brutal battle scene that even another Prince said I may not be ready to witness. I want to return and burn every Yeerk I come across, just like the next Andalite, but if I come back without a good story my Prince will have my head. I'd rather trot in front of a Hork-Bajir battallion than be near my Prince when he's really ticked off.>

<I'm not associated with this other girl, if that's what you think. I don't know why we showed up at the same time practically. Or why Yeerks would want to spend time in the same room as Andalites. Unless Joanne and that other Human aren't from our universe.>

The Gedd ambles his way over to Joanne, squinting at her dracon beam. He scratches his head worriedly. "You'rrrrre a bounty hunter?" he asks, suspiciously. "So you'rre not with the..." he lowers his voice to a whisper. "Yeerrrrks?"

Joanne sighs tiredly, glancing at the Andalite. "...you seem like a nice kid. I'll admit that I'm from the same place as you, which in turn means that there's somebody else here with me. There's more to the world than the Empire an' the Andalites, kid. Kess and I could tell you that. You can try to kill us if ya want, but I can' say that I won't defend my own self. Kess does all the talkin' with big-name clients, but I'm the one that does the shootin'. I know he can do it as well as me, but it was my skill to begin with and I like doin' it. Reminds me of th' gang."

Joanne then notices the odd Gedd and peers at him curiously. She nods. "Yep. We're bounty hunters. The Empire and the rebels call us some crazy word. I call us awesome. The Empire lets us live 'cause sometimes we're useful to 'em. Those guys do a ton of things to each other to get ahead. Including killin' their own."

Claxter's eyes narrowed when Joanne admitted to being a Yeerk, but then they softened again. <I'm still young, and I know that. I've been trained to kill Yeerks, but it does bother me that if it wasn't for fighting Yeerks I wouldn't know what to do with myself. I suppose there are multiple sides to the story, and when I hear rumors of Yeerks turning against the Empire and Andalites turning against the Electorate, it's hard to say that one side is absolutely right and the other absolutely wrong. I guess it's pretty obvious after I ran from battle that I still have some growing up to do.>

That speech kind of surprised him. Since he would never say that kind of thing in front of his superiors or peers, he didn't really know he had such thoughts in him. But he felt it was all true.

Corliss looks up at Claxter, pushing away his empty plate.  He listens with increasing concern.  Clearly this Andalite was your usual, run of the mill racist, but he was young and impressionable--and hadn't started shooting anyone yet.

"I think you're pretty wise, for a kid, Claxter," he says, smiling a bit.  "I guess I should tell you that my name really is Mike, but it's my host's name.  I'm Corliss Three-Eight-Two.  And you're absolutely right to believe some of those rumors.  There are good and evil people in every race, and quite a few in between, that much they tend to leave out in the standard training propaganda."

He glances back at the Gedd.  "Whoa.  I've never seen a Gedd in armor like that before.  Who's your robot friend, and what's your name?  Don't worry, I'm pretty sure I can pronounce it."

((I was called "Noble". ;D ))

Parker saw Zoshonel jump up to the rafters, and he was reminded of the previous occupant of the rafters. He wondered if the rafters could support his weight, he stole a look to the BT and saw the assumed scowl telling him not to try it. Parker shrugged a single shoulder in response. The BT dropped his gaze and went back to drying the same ol' mug.

Parker abandoned the thought of the rafters and waited until Ossanlin ended his explanation to speak to Terenia, "Ah, next on my welcome list. Yeah, sorry. I'm relatively new to this place too. I crashed here when my ship exited Slipspace. My ship was 'dead', for all intents and purposes, and just floating along in space. I saw this was the only nearby planet with life, so I jumped ship and landed here."

The Gedd smiles at Corliss. "rrrrI'm Puk!" His eyes glaze over for a second and his voice lowers slightly. It becomes apparent that he's been speaking in the Gedd equivalent of a falsetto. He looks shiftier, shyer. "mmm... Gorrrrt," he mutters, before his eyes glaze over again. Puk jabs a thumb at the robot, who seems to be glaring at Thor's armor with significant curiosity, perhaps envy. "The S.S. BeastHammerrrrrr's rra bunch rrof rrrittle people. They rrrike to be called Helmacrrrrr-"

Puk is interrupted as The S.S. BeastHammer stands up, dramatically. Its tiny tinny voice tinkles, "We are the S.S. BeastHammer, uncrowned king vessel of the Glorious Helmacron Empire!" It leaps onto the table, pointing a threatening finger in all directions. "The future comes on swift wings! Its proboscis swollen with acid and its billion eyes-" something whirs in the leg of the Chee android chassis the ship has been welded to, and the S.S. BeastHammer falls to the floor with a loud clank.

Puk shakes his head cautiously. "Don't help him rrrup."

((Helmacrons??? Oh dear. ;D Also Breekan, I'm not certain if your character's misinformed, or if you are, but my character's name is Parker, his A.I. unit is named Thor. FYI ;) ))

Parker looks up to the robot/ship that began spouting like a crazed zealot. Parker rolled his eyes behind his helmet, <Good lord, these guys need a nice slice of humble pie.> He looks to the oddly shaped primate and tilts his head. <A talking monkey? Now I've seen everything.>

Parker extends a hand to the "monkey", "Hi, I'm Parker, nice to meet you Puck. You have a rather... zealous friend there."

((I realize it's misspelled, but that's how Parker would assume it's spelled.))

<Thank you, I suppose.> Claxter said to Corliss. <This is a confusing place. I suppose the only one who may hold the secrets to it is the bartender, who never speaks. That may in fact be exactly why he doesn't speak. I will not cause any undue fights, as we both seem to have come here to relax away from combat. Wow, this is the first time I've spoken casually to a Yeerk. How strange.>

Claxter began feeling better, having someone to talk to who wouldn't harshly judge or punish him for speaking his mind. <I assume that you and Mike have come to an arrangement? That you get along together like Joanne and Kess?>

Corliss eyes the snooty Helmacron robot with an expression of weariness.  "Jesus, I've 'eard of these little bastards, they're really annoying."  He smiles back at the Gedd.  "Pleased to meetcha Puk.  I'm Corliss."

To Claxter he says, "Don't feel bad, this is an awfully confusing place.  And yeah, we get on all right.  Wasn't always that way, but I reckon we see eye to eye now.  So to speak.  We're both soldiers of the Yeerk rebel militia, Mike and I."

Alic decided to join Ossanlin and the two other andalites. Why be antisocial? She knew it would be awkward for her, living among humans so long. The only one of their kind she has been around.. And wanted to be around.. Knew who she was and Alic was content with that. She was almost hoping she would never have to see another andalite again. But they were here, so why not?

<Furball works just fine for me, thanks.> Alic raised an eyebrow at Joanne, slightly annoyed. This yeerk had no reason to be speaking with anyone unless she was out for trouble. Ahh. Bounty hunter. That would explain what was said between her and Corliss.

Alic gave a small wave to Claxter and Terenia.

((gosh you guys.I have a hard time keeping up lol))

Claxter noticed the other girl Andalite give him a wave, and he returned with a smile. He hadn't heard of Helmacrons, but this one seemed to think highly of himself. It was kind of cute, but perhaps he had reason to think highly of himself. any Andalite knows that Yeerks are just slugs that were a few inches long. You could see one slithering in a pool, and not think anything of it, but if it got inside your head it was all over for you. Alloran Semitur Corass knew that more than anyone. <I am honored to see one of the great Helacrons. Welcome to the crossroads of the universe.>

Ossanlin smiles reassuringly at Claxter.  <Well...you were flying a fighter as you said...that must mean that you are or were in the military.  Then you said you purposely flew around until you ran out of fuel...not to mention you wound up way out here at the rim.  It doesn't take an Apix research scientist to put things together.>

Ossanlin looks to Joanne, the new Yeerk and the one who registered as dangerous according to everyone else.  He thought the truth might not hurt with her...but if she wasn't Empire it was very possible his name would have very little effect on her, she might not even know who he was.  Ossanlin shrugged mentally.  He'd gotten too used to his name causing a ruckus almost to the point of being conceited...he needed to work on that.  <<My name is Ossanlin-Rethin-Sephirel.  Most people call me Ossanlin, or Oss if you prefer.>>

Ossanlin moves his eyes back to Claxter.  <Don't worry about being afraid.  Everyone has fear, Warrior Claxter.  Without fear we wouldn't be mortal.  The war is sickening and it gets old real fast.  Seeing those sorts of things changes a person...and generally not for the better.  We don't judge here, so feel free to stay as long as you like.  And yes, there are Yeerks here, and yes we have had a few Imperials in here...but most are rogues or with the rebel resistance like Corliss here.  We're on the same side.  I know all about the propaganda and brainwashing on the homeworld...it's hard to put it behind you, but you don't have to hate Yeerks.  And when you get past that, you see them as just a different type of person.  The extremists who run the Empire are fools and need to be dealt with one way or the other, but they are not like most of their species.>  Ossanlin shrugs noncommitally.

Ossanlin turns a stalk-eye to watch Alic approach and wraps an arm around her lower torso, his tail twisting around hers for a moment before returning to swaying gently back and forth behind him.

<<Prince Ossanlin? I've heard of you. I don't suppose you could send a message to Prince Fasool of the EmpireStriker to tell him to ease up on his subordinates? Not that you owe me any favors. I'd like to return to my domeship soon and help save the galaxy, but perhaps I'll also try not to get sucked into extremist propaganda.>>

Claxter noticed Prince Ossanlin being rather friendly with the girl. Perhaps he was not merely his assistant, but also an intimately close friend. Even though there was a noticable age difference.

(Terenia do you want to keep going with Ardiss, who is on Temrash's ship, or would you like me to just NPC her?)
