"In that case, we should probably let things remain as they are. As long as things are going well for us, there is little motivation to throw in something that may not work properly."

"True. By the sounds of it, this single demon has many foes, how has the battle lasted this long?"

The creature seems to derive power from elsewhere. From Zoshonel's description it seems to be able to withstand massive wounds and bloodloss. These demons we have encountered seem to be lesser dieties or something. We are unsure."

"And that uncertainty necessitates a great deal of caution," adds Myitt, "particularly in the form of staying in here so we don't get torn to pieces.  Not fun."  She looks Thordon up and down.  "Thordon, just so we're clear, you've never heard of this conflict between Yeerks and Andalites, correct?  I'm trying to gauge if you really are from another universe, or just from someplace really out of the way in our own universe, even in this galaxy.  The relatedness of our common language is really interesting."

<What are you doing?>

<This creature could be a powerful ally, if he's from our neighborhood.  If not, then he needs to be aware of the situation.  Many visitors here are involved with our war, of course.>

"No, I've never heard of any of your races. Humans, Yeerks, Andalites," Thordon gestures towards Temrash, "or anyone else here for that matter. I don't know exactly where my planet is located, whether it's a part of this Universe or some other. We travel directly between planets via the portal I arrived in, so we don't ever see them in their celestial environment."

"You have no space travel at all, besides the portals?  No spaceships?" Myitt asks, astonished.  "Your people must have some powerful psychic abilities, if you can travel through space by just thinking about it."

"Depending on how much I could take with me, I probably wouldn't need spaceships either if some friends and I could just hop over to Earth any time we wanted." Temrash said. Then he began seriously thinking about what he just said. "What kind of military do you have, if you don't mind me asking?"

Thordon answered Myitt first, "No, no space travel. Also, portals are very difficult. Before I became a wraith, the only way we could create portals, is if a large number of sorcerors from both worlds worked together to create it. The very first portal that joined our worlds was a random occurence. It stayed open long enough for our sorcerors to study it and learn to create our own.

"No, it's a large event, creating portals. Normally we only do it once every year, however this time I needed to create a portal to help those on the dark world. I hope they do well in my absence."

Thordon ponders on them before answering Temrash, "The portal I created was small compared to the portals we create for our trades between Anarion and Sijris. For our annual portal opening, the portal is very large. Large enough for convoys to travel between worlds. Once a year we trade items back and forth between worlds. Friends converse and vistit during the time the portal is open, we even have exchange students. Citizens stay and learn about our culture and our world for a year, as our citizens stay there for a year, then during the next portal, they change back. In some rare instances, they stay; but it's very rare.

"We have no official military on Anarion. We've never needed one. Our planet is very cooperative, we work to better ourselves and others. Every citizen has the power to tarse, affect our element. We are trained at a very early age to defend ourselves and our families. The only times we've needed to 'fight' was to keep wild animals out of our city limits; and when Sijris and Anarion were first joined. The first portal scared Sijris more than it did Anarion. They thought we were there to attack them, so they attacked first. Other than those few times, we've had no reason to have a military."

(Boss Hound)

The Hound, now impeded by a barrier, turns at bay, as the bullets had furrowed into the flesh along its spine, causing pain and bleeding wounds and damage to the tissue along its back, it cried out in, in agony from the wounds but the pain that could be ignored, everything could be ignored if one tried.

It dodged around the winged enemy, avoiding the talons and darted in with fangs bared, even if it got stabbed by the energy blade it would attempt to drag another into the Warp with it. If it fangs found purchase then it would drag it enemy into the Immateriam with it.

(Drak’Shal)

Drak’Shal roared in the face of his opponent, this was a good combat even if the Daemon was losing, the constant hammering on his axe caused his grip to loosen, sensing that this could both be an advantage as well as a disadvantage he dropped the axe, which retracted to his belt. With his free hand he moved to grab the wrist of his foe in a crushing grasp, as he met the enemy with push for push, even as his Life-Blood slowly seeped from numerous wounds.

((Okay, looks like I had time to post now, if nobody likes the post say so and I’ll try to edit it))

((No, your post is great.))

Parker saw the jump, he quickly switched his sword to his left hand and stabbed the dog directly in its mid-section and pushed down as hard as he could to stop its jaws from clasping on Zoshonel. He then withdrew his shotgun with his right and while holding the sword in the dog put the barrel to the back of its head and shot.

((Let me know if you object to this post.))

"So the first portal was a random occurrence, with both your sorcerers and those on Sijris inadvertently focusing their mental powers at the same time?  How did this ability come to occur on both planets, are your people distantly related?"  Myitt swivels her bar seat so she's facing Thordon, keenly interested in learning about this new race he belongs to.

Corliss gets up and stretches, leaning over to Myitt.  "I'm going to check on the Skimmer, got equipment in there I can't just leave sitting. Besides, I don't like the idea of the loos in here, if the bleeding floorboards kill people and the motel cots can eat you or whatever."

"You don't have to ask my permission," Myitt replies with a smirk.

Her brother rolls his eyes.  "I'll be back," he says dramatically.  Corliss steps out of the bar, hurrying into the woods past the sound of the fearsome creatures dueling behind the building.

"Oh no, the first portal was a natural random occurrence. We never knew about other worlds before. Then the portal arrived, showed us a whole new world. Our sorcerors were able to study it and we found a way to recreate one. Unfortunately, since only we Anaron sorcerors created it, and didn't have the help of the Sijrin sorcerors, so the portal went nowhere. We lost a man to it. We don't know where they go when the portal doesn't have a destination, but we haven't seen him since.

"I believe all of our planets are related. In my vision, I saw fourteen other worlds. Sixteen in all. However I never saw this place. How I got here is the biggest mystery. We in Anarion can manipulate electricity and energy. Sijris has the ability to change temperature. They're planet is surrounded in flames; heh, not literally, of course, but it is very hot there. Its climate is almost unbearable. However over the millenia, we have adapted to live in much warmer climates. We used to be a very light-skinned people, but we're much more tan. Our skin has thickened.

I've seen a planet completely covered in ice, a planet that was in almost complete darkness because of foliage cover, and a planet almost completely enveloped in water. I would assume that each planet is governed by some sort of element: Fire, Ice, Water, Darkness. What is your planet like?"

Zoshonel knew that if the hound latched onto him, he may have to lose a chunk of himself before killing the beast, and regenration was a slow process. To curcumvent this problem, he decided to give the hound something to chew on that Zoshonel could afford to part with. He clenched his talons and aimed to ram his gauntlet into the hound's mouth.

Elsewhere, the Vampire continued to grapple with the demon. He changed the energy armor so that short spiked protruded from it to impale the demon, so that his struggling would lecerate the creature. He also bashed forward with his shield to keep from falling backwards.

"But if as you say, you need the Sijris and the Anarions to create the portal at the same time, how did you create one that led to the other's planet in the first place?  How did you learn of each others' existence?  Did you discover each other through space travel?" Myitt asks as politely as she can.  "As for my planet...it is...hm, very hot and humid, lots of lightning.  Not much in the way of organismal diversity.  There are very few and very small saltwater seas, most of the bodies of water are freshwater, so the continents are very large.  My people are aquatic in our natural state, and we inhabit the freshwater pools.  Nearly every night acid rain replenishes the bodies of water and allows for transportation between the pools through narrow river channels.  It's quite different from this little moon, or a place like Earth.  Not very exciting."  She considers.  "If there were an element for my planet, and I can assure you there really is no one element that governs it, it would be sunlight.  Our home sun is critical to our food chain, but instead of plants being the primary producers, it's...us.  Yeerks.  Well, us and the few plants.  We are a sentient, photosynthetic civilization."

Thordon thinks for a moment to better explain, "The first portal that joined our worlds was done without either planet's influence. It just appeared, out of nowhere. I have no idea where it came from, it just showed up. One moment life was going on as normal, then the portal showed up. Randomly. Without provocation. A pure happenstance."

((Don't read any frustration in his voice. He's extremely patient.))
