Morgan carried Cutter into The Cursed Pride towards the sick bay.
"Doc," Gaz said over her communicator, "might want to get ready. Morgan's brining a patient."
Morgan lowered him gently onto the examination table, and the ship's doctor walked in.
The doctor was tall, around 6 feet, had black hair that she kept up in a bun, a tan complexion, and eyes with no whites that were pure black, they were also slightly larger than a human's. Her most distinctive feature was that she had four functioning arms. The second set was positioned a few inches underneath the first.
"Doctor Asda," Gaz said.
"Gaz," replied Asda, "it's good to see you. So, who's the patient, Captain?"
"John Cutter," Morgan said and he explained all that had taken place outside.
Doctor Asda examined the injury that had been closed and nodded in approval.
"The work is good," she said, "not much else I can do with that aside for watch it for infection. Now, it's his head that's the main concern."
She walked over to a cabinet and pulled out a scanner which she directed at Cutter's head.
"There's no major damage," Asda said, "no fracture, that's a good sign. We're lucky there was no neck injury or moving him would have been extremely bad. He may have a concussion, but we won't know how bad until he wakes up."
Asda put the scanner down, put on some gloves and gently lifted back Cutter's shirt. She quickly reached for the scanner again.
"There's discoloration," Asda explained as she scanned. "That's not a good sign because that doesn't look like bruising."
After a brief pause, Asda's eyes went wide.
"I need this room clear!" she shouted. "I also need someone to scrub in to assist!"
"What's wrong?" Gaz asked. She was rushing to the door to get assistance from outside.
"He's bleeding internally!" Asda said. "It looks like there's some damage to one of his kidneys. Ask if anyone's type O+, we'll need a transfusion!"
Gaz ran outside to the crowd and yelled, "He's got damage to a kidney, bleeding internally. Doc says she needs someone O+ for a transfusion and someone who can scrub in to assist, NOW!"
