"Trying to lure the orbs away? Ha! They don't need to move. Once we encircle them, they'll be stuck inside a forcefield that we can shoot into, but they can't shoot out of." One pilot said.

"I'm taking fire." another said.

"Don't lose your cool. These are just ameteurs. Evade and continue deploying." He said, though he was starting to take some fire too.

Gaz noticed that the fake-out was doing little good. She grumbled as she noticed the circle she was being drawn into.

"Fletch!" Gaz called. "Get the engines ready! We need to pull a drop."

In a second, the engines on The Vagabond turned and the ship shot straight down and on the way back it fired a few shots at the underside of the cargo ship.

"Wow. It turned so fast!"

"It's going to escape through the incomplete circle!"

"I'll intercept! You try to finish the trap!"

One of the ship's raced to the outside to the circle to face Gaz head on. He fired his weapons right at the ****pit.

Gaz's blast was stopped by the third ship's shields, but it was a string hit. "Shields down to 90%, sir. I think this group of pirates has a quality vessel on their hands."

Ardiss is beginning to grow restless in her solitude and stands, abruptly. She leaves her full drink on the table and approaches the bar.

"Cherry kool-aid," she orders, noting that it is Christine's favorite. Maybe it is this new host that has her so restless. Perhaps placating the body will placate her own mind.

((I understand. I wasn't pissed, just annoyed. Thanks, for the explanations and for responding.))

(sorry about the disappearance, guys! Went out of town for a bit. And myitt, sorry I didn't pick up when you phoned (drunk-dialed?) the other evening- I was trying to get some drug dealers to leave my friend's house, which was difficult because I was in clown make-up.)

Breekan frowns at Keirdan's wailing and grabs the shirt, inspecting it. He shakes it out. "Is something wrong, buddy? Did you get a piece of gravel in there or something?" He frowns at the cat and the limper. "You two. Do you know something about this?"

Keirdan stops howling, and grabs at Breekan's leg. He clings to him. Keirdan mumbles something into the leg.

Mar nods and shakes Parker's right hand with his left, peculiarly. His left arm appears to be either lightly armored or prosthetic, with a very strange-looking small jewel in the center of his palm. It's utterly dull right now, but appears to be real and made of an unknown alloy.

"I can be called Mar. Or any number of other things, but that's not important. Your perception is probably...unusual at any rate, so that may have already occurred to you. I am sorry, but in my current state I cannot produce a ship of that kind. And many travelers at this Bar have either appeared by accident or have come from entirely different realms than yourself. Is there any particular urgency with which you need to return to your home?"

"In my universe, all human-kind is in a war with a covenant of different aliens. They seek to destroy us, and we're just hoping to stay alive. On top of that, they have found these large artificial planets that act as a weapon that kills any sentient life within its radius. The Covenant believe that it's not a weapon, but in fact a machine that will make them ascend to a higher plane of existence. I was en route to help defend an Earth colonized planet, when I was ambushed, The Shaw-Fujikawa engine in my ship malfunctioned, and sent me here.

"I'm hoping to go back home to continue fighting off The Covenant from eliminating the humans. But if there's no ship here that can travel through slipspace. I guess I'm stuck here."

"Interesting problem," mutters Mar, musing over what Parker has said. "You seem dressed for the occasion, for lack of a better description. Although you may be in trouble. Unless another traveler appears with similar origins to your own, you'll probably be stuck in this location until you can make repairs. Brave souls interest me, but..." Mar flicks his hair behind him. "...they usually cause more harm than good when we meet."

Mar gestures around the Bar with a smirk and states, "This place is also rather hard to get away from. I came in here to pay a tab and ended up embroiled in events. I've chosen to stay for now. I am sure others of me can take care of my business while I am here, and there are a rather intriguing cast of characters to speak with."

Parker takes a half step back and looks down at his armor. "Ah, my armor you mean. This is a specialty armor meant to heighten speed, reflexes and it also is damn-near indestructible. If it weren't for this suit, Khaz would've impaled me with his tail. Parker removes his helmet to show his 'humanity. He has light brown hair in a 'high and tight' style cut, hazel-almost golden-color eyes, and pastey white skin.

"As for the patrons of this place; so far I've met a talking fox, a centaur, and a metamorphisizing pile of slime. I'd say this place is special. Wait, did you say, 'others of me'?"

Mar nods, pausing to look over it, walking around Parker in a circle. He then stops in front of him again. "It appears to be of quite impressive construction, enough to rival anything of similar magical grade. I'm certainly glad you weren't gutted, dear boy. It adds another flavor to the odd group here."

Mar shrugs a bit. "And as for how there can be "others of me..."...considering that half of you believe in a higher being, you think of them as being so much like yourselves. There is only one me so to speak, but many bodies like this of varying natures and types. Mortal shapes are generally weakest and even are sometimes unaware of being related to the whole. I am lucky due to the nature of this Bar and how I arrived, but unlucky in the sense that the avatar is hopelessly weak. Without my power, what am I?"

Danika's orb went over and made a scan of Parker with his helmet off.

"I'm not sure what's going on, Breekan." Danika said. "But I believe it may be because we encountered this one in the woods. I found an object once, but it seems to have disapeared."

"My armor is called, 'Hayabusa'. It's very hard to earn the right to obtain this armor. Our regulation armor is much simpler, it's called, 'Mjolnir'. This suit quickens my speed and reflexes, but when I also am paired with an AI..."

Parker reaches out his hand palm up. A hologram of a man appears in a kneeling position his right arm resting on his knee, and his forhead resting on his forearm. His left hand holds a short-handled hammer with the head on the ground, and his hand on the handle like a cain. The man raises from his earlier stance now standing tall, about 7". As the hologram speaks, a voice comes out of Parker's helmet's speakers.

"I am Thor. Nice to meet you."

Parker rolls his eyes at Thor's entrance. "He likes to be dramatic. When paired with an AI my reflexes are enhanced all the more. He supplies tactical info and also is pretty nice to talk to if your alone.

"So your avatar is more like a conduit to your higher conscience then? Can your 'source' travel, or is that solely the function of the avatars?"

Breekan frowns. "Is that so?" He kneels down and rubs Keirdan's back, trying to make it feel better. "There there little guy," he says gently. "Nobody's gonna bother you again; at least no more than usual." He smiles.
