"Sorry if I'm being annoying, Mar. I don't mean to act like I'm still as powerful as I used to be, though sometimes I like reveling in past exploits." Temrash said.

After hearing Ossanlin, it seemed that Crussl wasn't as big a prize as Temrash thought. "Hmm. I don't much remember Taishe at all. If what you say is true, then I guess we fell for it. Now that I think of it, I remember one of my advisors once telling me that Crussl may not be all he seemed. But my superiors ordered me to focus on Crussl, and I did."

"Between you and me, I'd say everyone here is a person." Danika said.

Asmodee thought the offer over. It would be a bit awkward paling around with people he tried to kill recently. But sitting at a bar would be more stimulating than sitting in a medbay.

As the Andalite walked away, Parker thought on what he said. He shuts his external speakers off, "Thor, what do you think, would it be possible to get home?"

<Well, if any of these ships can travel through slipspace, then I would assume so, We entered through slipspace, so it logic dictates that it must be re-entered through slipspace.>

"Yeah, alright, well; let's see if the fox has a slipspace capable engine."

Parker goes back into the bar and stops next to Hunter and the insectoid. He watches his step so as not to kick the child and cat.

"Hey Hunter, I don't mean to interrupt, but does your ship travel through slipspace?"

Ardiss' pupils dilate as Temrash goes over his credentials. Of course she had heard of him, like all of the Visser's in the single digits his reputation would be known throughout the Empire. When she spoke, though, she retained her cool hostility.

"I believe our friend Mar here is right, Temrash," she scoffs a little on the word 'friend', "You are no more powerful than me, save your various minions running amok. If these so-called rebels decided not to trust you I doubt you would be leaving this bar. They would just call on their pet Andalites to take care of you." She sips her drink, wrinkling her nose slightly at the taste.

"And don't think that I don't know how these 'achievements' of yours are counted by you Visser's. I have spent my life working closely with your kind. Some nameless underling will accomplish something under your orders and suddenly you are Emperor of the universe taking claim for it," she snorts derisively. "No, we aren't anything alike. There is a reason that I never rose to a Visser rank, although I assure you the opportunities were there."

Temrash knew many Vissers achieved their ranks by taking the credit for other's accomplishments, and hated when people accused him of doing the same. But his face did not betray any emotion. "I got where I was by deed alone. I was near the top because I am that good. You want to say you are unlike me? Fine. Still, I'm offering you a lot. All I ask in return is civility."

"As for the rebels keeping me where I don't want to be, I'll have you know it's quite difficult getting me to do something I really don't want to do. That's why I never rose higher than Visser 6. I could have been Visser 1, or on the council, if I turned my back a few more times than I did. I know for a fact that there are precious few Andalites that can take me on in single combat. Save some special cases, which Ossanlin might be one of. However, I have taken certain precautions for that. Much like many things I do." He said. He took a quick glace upward to the rafters, where Zoshonel stirred, resting but alert.

"I've given you Kandrona, a host, and my protection. Would you like more of me?"

Corliss laughs a little, looking down at the table.  "Temrash, I think you'll find that, as a matter of survival, we've become quite good at making people do things they don't really want to do," he says darkly, sipping his beer.

Keirdan smiles at Danika, then glances from Shalner to Breekan. Noting their lack of attention, he turns back to Danika. "I want to play outside."

"I'm going to let it go at that, Corliss. I don't need to prove anything to anyone, and if the time comes, we'll see who is right and who is wrong." Temrash said.

"Alright. Let's go outside and play." Danika said.

Mar stares rather coldly around the room, sipping the drink the bartender has put in his general direction. He's surrounded by members of the Empire, talking about old war positions. Something about the entire situation is setting him on edge. He's almost sure that he's been here before now. However, it really isn't any of my business, is it? If one of me has slipped past Crayak, who am I to care what he's doing?

Mar looks up at Ardiss and states quietly, "The Andalites here are hardly pets of the rebels. They are more like rebels themselves. Your species may hold a great distaste for them, but that is hardly a reason to judge all of them."

Mar glances at Temrash and says, "As for you...we cannot be sure of your battle prowess until we have seen it, but I do not doubt you personally. There is something about the way that you speak that suggests someone who lives harshly. However...it isn't me that you need to prove yourself to. And Myitt is ironically far less trusting than I am."

Cale thinks about it for a few moments, before nodding, he could probably trust this Hunter fellow.

:…Yes, it would be interesting to see another’s ship…:

The Poleepkwa heard another approach and turned a little apprehensive, he wasn’t used to this much activity without being constantly watched by MNU agents or cameras.
He rose to his full height, 7’ and clicked nervously a few times, eyeing the humans weapons warily.

He was prepared to get away as fast as he could and if that was not an option he would try and tear the human limb from limb, it was unfortunate that he had left his weapons on the ship, but his own strength was good enough for the moment, if it came to that.

He hoped not.

After a little while, Asmodee got up and left the Mirage, He made it to the bar, where he found a seat and ordered some tea. Upon his arrival, Zoshonel stiffened, and glanced towards Temrash. He hadn't interacted with Asmodee in a long time, and was wary. Temrash glanced up, and gave a slight shake of the head, so Zoshonel settled down.

Gaz brought out her communicator and contacted Fletcher. "Fletch, we ready to do this thing?" she asked.

"You bet," Fletch replied. "I was actually about to get a hold of you and recommend we take off soon."

"Be there in a few," Gaz said. She nudged Morgan and both of them swallowed down the rest of their rum.

Gaz hopped down lightly on her boots while Morgan thudded down onto his hooves.

"Well, folks," Gaz said, "we're off to do some honest pirating. If anyone is interested, they're welcome to join. The Vagabond and The Cursed Pride will be taking off shortly. Don't take too long to think about it. We'll be back."

The moment Parker finishes his question, the insectoid rose quickly. Its body language suggested that it meant to flee; but it stood its ground. The insectoid's eyes were just 6" shy of meeting Parker's. It eyed his weapons with caution. Parker, not wanting to set off the alien slowly rose his hands in the universal "surrender" gesture, turned to face the insectoid, and then lowered his right hand in an approach to shake its hand.

"Hold on their, pal. My name's Parker. I didn't mean to offend you, I'm just trying to get home." Parker said calmly and in hopes of calming the alien as well.

Ossanlin chuckles at Ardiss' hauteur.  It was comical really, sad but comical.  He had to remind himself that she had undergone all the same brainwashing as any other Yeerk.  It would take time, that was all.

Ossanlin looks over to Temrash again and smiles a bit.  <I'd rather not test that theory Temrash.  Much as I enjoy a good sparring match, if we really fought, one of us would end up injured or worse and whichever of us would suffer that fate makes no difference, it is unacceptable either way.  But then I'm a bit of a pacifist as if you hadn't figured that out.>  He shakes his head ruefully.  <I did not mean to diminish your accomplishments in any way, Temrash, I'm simply telling you the truth of Crussl as I know it.  The fact is that the tactic was a double-edged sword.  The same propaganda that convinced the Empire that Crussl was enemy #1 made our own people see him as Prince #1.  Whether he deserved his fame or not, he did have it, and his death caused a backlash of negative morale that could be felt for more than a year into the future.  His death did have quite an effect, and because of that the Electorate did everything in their power to maintain his reputation even in death.>  Ossanlin shakes his head again.

He looks over to Asmodee and eye-smiles briefly, signaling the BT to put the hunter's drinks on his tab.  <Glad you're feeling better Asmodee.  I'm sorry for everything I had to put you through to get that nasty Imperial out of your head, I hope you can forgive me.>
