Danika found something small scurrying among the broken tables. It was some type of rodent. "Free food. Nice." She said, and began hunting. She pounced, but missed, and started chasing it around the bar.

"Some try to set off on their own to start off with," Morgan said. "What they're made of will determine if they've got what it takes. People think that because nowadays you've got better ships, bein a pirate is easier. It's not. Those people don't tend to last very long. If they really hear the call to the black...those are the names that get remembered."

"That's how Morgan got started actually," Gaz commented. "Was sick of things where he was. A lot of land lubbers claim they feel the call, but they don't got what it takes."

"Best thing you can do is find someone experienced," Morgan continued. "Serve on their ship for a time and learn from them."

"That's what I did," Gaz said. "Was at another planet side bar and saw Morgan. I'd heard his name around, knew he was one of the best, and asked to ship out. After a time he helped me secure my own ship. Just need to work on securing a crew."

"Once your in the trade," Morgan said, "It's important to make a name for yourself. Make alliances with other ships. Though once you get yourself a crew or a ship, first person you should talk to is Cortex. He's got connections, you wouldn't believe. Can get you parts and information no one else might be able to get."

"No one has ever figured out how he quite does it," Gaz mused.

Morgan took a sip of rum, chuckled and said, "That was probably more information than you needed."

Breek shrugs. "Well, the little guy seems to have an interest, figured it'd help to be on the ball." He sighs dramatically. "If only he'd become a doctor..."

Keirdan glances up at Breekan, his jaws struggling to mash the tough, dried out gum. He spits it out after he realizes it's a lost case, and holds it up to Breekan. "I don't want to be a doctor. They're not fun. Shalner's almost a doctor, and she's boring."

"Well," Hunter said to Parker "I need some fresh air." With that he stood up, grabbed his beer, tossed the painkillers in a pocket, and walked outside.

Stepping gingerly over the fallen door, he almost walked straight into the mech walker that must have gotten there while he was inside. Stopping a few feet short of walking headfirst into one of it's many guns, he backed away a few more feet.

Craning his neck so he could actually look it in the 'face', he said "Damn! That walker looks pretty pricey"

The Suit sensors registered the near contact with the humanoid and turned; raising its arm that contained the built-in Arc wielder, it took aim briefly before deciding that there was no threat.

Parts of the suit hissed as hydraulics systems kicked in as part of the walker slid back, revealing the insectile occupant, the Poleepkwa exited the suit, which closed up behind it.

Cale stood 7’ and looked down at the humanoid, emitting a series of clicks in a strange language, he had a small box shaped computer on his wrist, and as Cale twiddled a few dials, and his language was translated into English, which he had decided was the most common language used.
:…Do you know where Cat food may be purchased?...:

Jumping back from the gun-looking thing that was raised towards his face, edged his hand towards the holster inside his coat. Seeing it lower the weapon, he let his hand relax, but he still kept in near his weapon. Hearing the hissing of the hydraulics, he almost literally jumped 3 feet in the air.

((if this were an anime, there would be a giant '!' above Hunters head atm... lol!))

Taking another swig of his beer, he almost choked on it as a 7 foot tall prawn like thing climbed down from the mech unit.

"Cat food? No clue, but I'm pretty sure that The Bartender would have some somewhere inside..." Hunter said with the 0.o face.

"That thing doesn't look like what I'd classify as a cat." Temrash said absentmindedly.

"You're gonna be one of us, ain't ya, kid?" Morgan said. "Perhaps one day you can ship out with me or Gaz, eh?"

"How have things been going for you, Morgan?" Gaz asked. "I had heard you were picked up."

"That I was," Morgan replied. "My ship was grabbed and crew questioned for a few days."

"I see you got away," Gaz said. "I was tellin 'em that no one could keep you in the hold for long. You're too good for that."

"Ye give me too much credit," Morgan replied.

Cale nodded his thanks and headed towards the ‘bar’, he paused outside looking for a ‘no non-humans’ sign, seeing none he stepped through and strode to the counter, not really noticing any of the other occupants in his haste for Cat Food.

:…I would like four cans of Friskies…:

The Bartender dug up the four cans, they were extremely dusty and possibly out of date but that didn’t stop the Prawn from shoving one entire can into his mouth and chomping down hard, splattering bits of tin and cat food. The taste was salty, bitter and oh so good.

Cale left a few rand on the counter and moved to a booth with his haul.
The second he sat down another can was already in his mouth and the fish flavored processed meat sliding down his gullet, he finished it with a contented sigh and eyed the other two greedily.

((No, hes not Christopher, awesome tho Christopher is, and the movie is awesome too))
((I will eat moar cat food later, salty bitter and oh so good ;D))

Ossanlin ****s his head and watches as the Yeerk enters its death throes and exits Asmodee's head.  He had always wondered why Yeerks were programed to release their hosts once they died.  He looked over to Alic and was a bit pained to see the satisfied, almost pleasured look as the Yeerk died.  He always thought it was time for a Warrior to retire once he enjoyed watching death...he hoped Alic would find peace, he wanted her to.  He would do his best to show her peace if he could.

He removes his katana and shakes the blood off, sheathing it.  He works quickly on the computer, updating the thought-link and programing the pod to accelerate the healing process.  He waits until Asmodee's most-painful wounds heal and then introduces just a bit of stimulant to try and rouse Asmodee to consciousness.

<Hunter Asmodee, are you still with us?>  Ossanlin watches the Nisraeln carefully for signs of pain or distress, as well as consciousness.

Keirdan smiles up at Gaz and Morgan. "I'm a pirate. I have a hat, see?" He gingerly touches his head, straightening out his hat.

( I figured you weren't Christopher, but I had to have a moment there. That movie made me so damn sad.)

Taking another look at the walker, he started back inside. Glancing around, he noticed a mangled pistol had just been tossed on the table closest to the door. Pocketing it, he saw the alien from before wolfing down cans of cat food, cans and all!

A little surprised, but not fazed, he waited ‘till he was done with the most recent can then he started to walk towards the table where he was sitting. “So, I didn’t catch your name. Hunter's the name, bounties are the game.” he said with a chuckle as he extended his hand to the creature.

Alic crossed her arms and snorted as the slug died. <One down....> She would not rest until one day her father would be saved. Being one step closer gave her hope.
Knowing that Ossanlin wasn't as satisfied with the death of the yeerk, Alic took to his side and linked her arm through his. She leaned just slightly on him and rest her head on his shoulder.
<You gave it a choice... And this is what it preferred.>
It wasn't much, but it was hard for Alic to feel anything but happiness knowing it was one less enemy.
