((Hmm, we'll confer about possible time skips when there are more of us on. :3 )

Mar wanders closer to Kara and puts a hand on her shoulder. He seems almost shocked and slightly disturbed. His eyes glint red very briefly, with a look of anger. The monsters, tempting and tricking a child. A creature of innocence with no grasp of sin or will. I have had to in my time, but I as a variant have never liked it.

"You poor thing. They should never have done that to you. You deserved a much fuller life than that. Hmm...do you think that your parents knew?"

[Chad32]

"Heh. Zoshonel is more of an adventurer than a pirate. He wouldn't go for looting and plundering, but seeing new places and meeting new challenges would be his thing. I suppose if we were on the ocean, and you were a seafaring pirate, he would just be a sailor. Jagill and he found each other after we were all captured on separate occassions. He picked on the wrong Yeerk. And I was resting in my pool when the military ambushed me. Jagill fought hard, but they were ready for him. They were going to infest Zoshonel, but that got put off when they got me.

Jagill was put in the same cell as him. That's how they met. They bonded through an impressive battle. Going through Jagill's memories, I'm impressed at how the two quickly learned to act together. They rescued me from another room, and we made out getaway in separate ships. It's been a few months, and we haven't seen him in person since. though we did team up in space against Asmodee the Hunter.

[Terenia]

She shrugs, a helpless gesture. A few more tears escape as she shakes her head, "They didn't know. They were....free. Until I -" she cuts off, inhaling deeply and turning the unscathed side of her face away in shame.

Mar pats Kara's shoulder worriedly. She seems to him like a terribly unstable, childish woman who might even benefit from him taking care of her affairs. He figures he will try his best to get what he wants and see where the situation develops.

"I'm sorry. It's not your fault. It's the fault of the Yeerk that was inside you. Do you miss them?"

[Terenia]

She nods miserably and, at his touch, collapses into his arms in another bout of sobs. Through her gasps she manages to speak, "I'm....so.....sorry.. .."

Mar wraps his arms around her kindly, wishing he could strengthen the warmth around himself. The feeling about me is rather neutral, and yet she seems attracted to me...I'd feel guilty taking the soul of a child. But perhaps...

Mar glances at Kara and states, "Listen...I know I look like you, but I'm actually an extra-dimensional being of significant power. You seem very sad and look like you need my help. I need power in order to get stronger, and I can get it from you. But...you would have to give it to me, and I don't want to hurt you. I'm...not sure what to do. Can you help me?"

My god, thinks Mar almost derisively of himself. I've finally lost it. What am I doing? Even while drunk I know this is mad.

[Gaz]

"I'd often wondered what it was like for those pirates," Gaz said. "The high seas and all. But I think I've decided I like this better. Much more space to roam in."

[Terenia]

Kara pulls back slightly and looks into his eyes with the same wide, nervous stare, "How....how can I help?" she asks, sniffling slightly. Her entire body still has a slight case of the shakes, tremors rolling up and down as she fights to convince her muscles to obey.

[Chad32]

(I'm going to start calling him Maroku. Except instead of him asking women to bear his child, he asks them to give him their souls.)

"I wouldn't know much about sea travel. Our people went straight from walking to flying space ships. We completely skipped the invention of the wheel, though I think some of our keenest minds may have been close to figuring that one out." He said, with a chuckle.

((Yes, fear him. Taking advantage of helpless people is kind of what he does. XD It's the only way he can get out of his lousy job. I'm now thinking of Soul Edge from Soul Calibur saying "Give me your soul!" ))

"I don't need your body," Mar says quite hesitantly. This whole thing looks more insane by the second. "You can have that. I need...you, frankly. I need a bit of energy that represents you. I...frankly I don't want to ask you for this at all. It's not right. But if I had it...I could protect you and perhaps make your life a little better."

[Terenia]

"I..." Kara hesitates, obviously confused and bewildered, "You'd protect me?" she asks, clinging on to that promise above anything else that he has said. She has never had anyone protect her in her fifteen years as a host. Perhaps if she lets this one person in....maybe it will be the end of her troubles. "Protect me how?"

((Oh dear god. I'm actually failing to keep him in character because Kara is just that cute. Fight the cuteness! Stay strong! XD .......plus, Mar's clients aren't usually adorable ex-hosts. ))

Mar, realizing what an incredibly unlikely opportunity this is, realizes he has to get his head back. The alcohol is winning him over. Hah. I'm actually losing my grip in front of a weakling human girl. Oh, well. Going along with it seems to be moving me right along, so why should I change a thing?

"I'd protect you in two ways that I know. The first is that I would prevent you from being re-taken as a host. I know I am not much now, but you would be surprised what I am capable of. I would also, if you'd like, help you on your road to recovery. .....perhaps I would do that even without your help. The second is that I would...help good things to happen to you, as it were. I can do something like that."

[Terenia]

Kara sways slightly. Partially it is because of the alcohol, but partially it is in response to Mar, who has somehow managed to pull her in. It's really not fair, considering that she has never been able to choose to trust anyone or not in her adult life. Of course she would become enraptured in the first person that comes along.

"I...." she takes a deep breath, stuttering slightly, "I don't ever want to go back. I will do....anything if you can guarantee that I stay free of Yeerk control."

"Anything?" states Mar with a smile, waving his finger. "Well, alright then. You give me permission to take what I want...which I must point out is your soul...and I'll make it...well, let's put it this way. It will be impossible for a Yeerk to infest you ever again. It means I might have to disappear for a bit to complete your terms, but I shouldn't be gone for more than a few seconds. Time has a funny way of being on my side."

"Also..." states Mar. "...I want the chance to protect you here as well. If you will let me."

[Terenia]

Kara seems to consider for a moment. The concept of a soul obviously has little or no meaning to her, spending so much time in the company of a scientifically-rooted Yeerk. The offer seems....reasonable . At least. Besides, this Mar character is...enticing.

"I think..." Kara hesitates, leaning closer. She is entirely unsure how to proceed, relying soley on her instincts, which are overwhelming, "I think that....I can agree to those terms."

She leans in, to her own extreme surprise, and presses her lips to Mar's, her arms wrapping securely around him.
