"Alright," says Tara, letting Myitt slither back into her head.  For a few moments Myitt says nothing, then she sharply looks up.  "Too much.  No, she's seen far too much.  We can't let her leave here, not in a host."

"Nah, 'course you're not broken," says Corliss, going over and kneeling by Kara.  "You're completely whole, yeah?  It's not an easy fight, that's for damn sure.  Are you hungry?  There is food, here."  He stands up and looks over at Myitt.  "Well, shall I call Rev, or are we just going to let her die with a little dignity?"

"Not starvation," says Myitt flatly.

"No?  Then what, what do you propose?"

"I don't know."

The jukebox, which has been strangely silent, starts quietly playing "Only the Lonely" by Roy Orbison.

Breekan frowns. "There's not much room for dignity in dying," he mutters. "That desperate idiot..."

Shal stares at he friends, and reaches down to pull her knife from the sheath strapped to her leg. She approaches the pool, and looks to Myitt and Corliss. Murder is nothing new to her.

Myitt shakes her head, rubbing her eyes.  "Make sure Temrash doesn't get hurt.  Are we really sure this is the right thing to do?  I hate this.  In the heat of battle, in self defense, shooting cannons from miles away...it's not the same as this.  Goddamnit, why can't people just ****ing change..."

Corliss looks over at Kara, patting her on the shoulder.  "What do you think we should do with her?" he asks gently.

Breekan looks up at Shal, his expression hard to read, but definitely concerned. "Sis..." He murmurs. He makes no move to stop or help her.

Mar "purrs" once he sees that Kara is safe again. "There's nothing broken about you. You've been through a lot, dear." The poor thing. I do hope she'll be nice and safe. Safe and hopefully sane enough to play a little with me.

He glances at the Yeerk oddly and states, "It's hard to tell when you've got...two people in one body which...is producing what emotion. But I have my....guess. I would suggest...not to kill without provocation, as I promised assistance. But...I suppose I'm too weak now to control what you do. Just that killing the helpless unless your fate is decided is...unwise."

"I...." Kara hesitates, swallows and starts to speak. She stops herself and pauses again. It takes her two or three more tries before her face crumbles and she mumbles her most coherent, and miserable, sentence yet, "I want her dead. That makes me as bad as her, though. Don't. Just....leave her."

She says this with her eyes mostly unfocused, until they find Mar. She attempts a weak smile in response to his words, but partially crumbles.

Shal sits down on a stool near the pool, knife still in hand.

Keirdan looks from Breekan, to Shal, to the pool. His eyes widen, then he sighs. He crawls up onto Shal's lap and sits there silently.

Shal ignores him.

Mar glances at Kara a bit nervously, unsure of what to do. His current condition means that moving wouldn't be very smart, but he does want to comfort her. He enjoys the company of weak-willed, sweet people in general and also isn't hasty to lose his possible prey to insanity.

"Shh, shh. These people are alright and would never want a Yeerk in you if you don't want one. I'll do anything...that I can for you, as well."

Dang. Pages and pages while I'm gone.

"What is difference between ardiss and Kara, and Myitt and Tara?" Jagill asked. "Both the same. Myitt changed. Ardiss can change too."

Temrash was shocked when the exchange was made. But there was nothing he could do. He echolocated for Jagill, and Jagill brought him out. Now only Ardiss was in the pool. "You agreed not to kill her, and she will not be killed." Temrash said. He took the container into his arms. "If only I still had my ship. I have nothing to offer. I won't force Kara to let her back in, but I want to give her a chance. A memory wipe could relieve her of Tara's memories. Ardiss will be under my protection now." He said, while looking at Shal and Alic. "The rest of you may care for kara. Someone must speakfor and defend Ardiss. So that will be me."

"You've got a memory wipe lying around?" Breekan asked Temrash, hopeful.

Temrash sighed. "Like I said. I wish I still had my ship. I have no resources. No way to mold her memories, or even to keep her alive after this thing wears out. I would need to leave, somehow." Then the thought occured to him. "Hey Gaz? Would it be possible for you to take me to a little spot I have hidden away? It's not too terribly far from here, and I could pay you. If not strictly money, then perhaps service for a while. Once there, I would have the resources to help Ardiss.

<I don't think so, Temrash.> Alic was glaring at him now. <That yeerk does NOT leave this bar. For all we know you're going to take it, contact some friends..> she shook her head. <Nuh uh.>

"I do not require your permission, Alic. And even with half my forearm blades still missing, I doubt you could even slow me down. I don't want to hurt any of you, but I want to give ardiss more time to see things our way. For that to happen, I need to leave. I just need a ship. Possibly Gaz's, if she doesn't mind taking me.

<Hah. I doubt I would be the only one in your way.> Alic looked around the room. She was sure they didn't 100% trust Temrash either. If he left with Ardiss it would be a huge risk to the bars occupants.
