"Ah?  Then she's not a complete mess, she can still think for herself, and it bothers you," says Tara, shaking her head.  "We could tell if you left her head.  It's a little crowded in there but I think there's room for one more."  She taps the little plastic container, smiling faux sweetly.

Kara blanches at the idea, staring down at the tupperware in horror, "You...you'd kill me. Absolutely not! You think I trust a human and a Ho...Hork-Bajir with my life? Do you think I am insane?"

"Of course she is still there. Else the Yeerk wouldn't need restraints." Jagill said. "You trust the Andalite to let you out of this bar if you don't?" He replied, with a glance towards Alic. Not that he really wanted to bring her into the conversation. He didn't like her at all.

Tara raises an eyebrow.  "Yeah, we'd just kill you, because I personally love murdering people.  Especially helpless people.  It's fun."

"Like I said, Ardiss, no one would hurt you," Corliss chimes in.  "You'll just have to take our word for it.  But no one can force you out of your host, of course.  Let's be rational about this, yeah?  None of this is easy, I was once in a position of considerable success within the Empire, too.  We all grew up with the same rot.  I didn't change overnight, and I don't expect everyone to be able to change."

Mar glances sideways at Myitt and states, "I can't control what the higher beings in this reality choose to do with your life threads. I told you that it isn't my business what you do while you're alive any longer. I promised you that. I can guarantee that no one other than me will be able to manipulate you once you pass on, but you only bet on what you can see, now don't you?"

Mar then tries to put a hand on Kara's shoulder, but only ends up straining his back. He cries out in pain briefly and then shakes it off, glancing at her.

".....I think that in this case dear, they may be right about part of your host still being conscious. Although, I am glad that you have been so kind to me as a result."

"Why, hello, Mar," says Tara, too pleasantly.  "So good to speak with you again.  Nice of you to possess my friend's consciousness, but at least you brought her back to life.  Does that hurt?  Yeah?  Aw, that's too bad.  Yeah, mortality really sucks, doesn't it?  Poor baby."

Kara glances at the two Andalites that she has spotted. More specifically, she glances at their tail blades and begins biting her lip again. She feels as though she has been wedged into an elaborate trap. She could leave her host now...and die. She could refuse their offer and be forced to leave in two days...and die. Or she could run and hope to find another random bar with portable Kandrona available. Not likely.

"I think..." she gulps and finishes her bottle in a long, unbroken swig. When she finishes she looks no less terrified, "I think that this is likely to be the stupidest decision of my life. And that's saying a lot, considering I'm a runaway."

Mar almost snarls at Tara, baring his teeth. He then thinks better of it and stops himself before things get too complicated or dangerous for him. He instead reverts to his regular irritability.

"If you had a chunk out of your left side you wouldn't be feeling well yourself, dear. And I have your friend's soul because she sold it to me. And I wouldn't return it even if it were actually possible for me to do so. You would protect something you loved from harm if you had the means as well."

"Yes, Mar, I'd protect something I loved from harm, but I wouldn't hurt it further for my own twisted benefit.  For all of goddamned eternity."  Tara turns back to Ardiss.  She looks surprised, and her expression softens a bit.  "Look.  Corliss is right, we aren't going to hurt you.  Really.  We just want the chance to talk to the only other person that has a say in your fate.  In both of your fates.  If she wants you dead, well, we promised you that you'd be safe."

"And just think of the wonderful company in that sorry excuse for a pool," says Corliss, grinning.

She wrinkles her nose, looking at the tiny excuse for a pool, "I need another drink, first." The bartender already has one ready. It hasn't taken her long to achieve her usual alcoholic reputation. She downs the shot from a grubby glass and sighs again, shaking herself out as though she is preparing to do something truly vile.

"You'll need to hold my arms," she warns, "the human isn't used to supporting its own weight."

Slowly, unwillingly, she tilts her head towards the pool and begins to disconnect from her host.

Tara watches, actually feeling genuinely bad for this creature, a Yeerk with a terrible job and a guilty conscious, just doing what she's always thought was normal.

Corliss, hand to his mouth, also watches with great interest.  He gently takes one of Kara's arms and helps support her weight.

"I have no intention of hurting her once she is dead," Mar states rather strongly, as if he means it. "You can count...on that. What would you imagine me doing, putting my own sweet pe...Myitt through a torture chamber? Do you do that to creatures you care for?"

Mar is frustrated, but he also finds the proceedings going on before him rather interesting. He glances at the small container rather worryingly. I do hope this goes well. Granted, my concern is likely not with the Yeerk in truth, but she wasn't horrible to me.

For a long moment nothing happens, but then the small stub of the Yeerks body can be seen exiting Kara's existing left ear. Slight tremors roll through the human body as brain function is returned to its original owner. Finally, with a soft plop Ardiss falls into the pool and Kara...the true Kara...collapses.

"No, no torture chambers per se, but you'd...she'd be...there would be dresses, and mind control, and just...cutesy...ugh, she'd hate it, and it'd be forced on her forever," says Tara irritably, helping support Kara on her other side as she collapses.

"Hey," Tara says gently.  "It's okay.  Are you alright?"

Corliss helps prop her up, leading her to a chair.
