Myitt slides down out of the ship, wincing a bit.  She sidles up to Asmodee and her friends.  "So, pal," she says, slapping Asmodee on the injured back.  "What's to stop you from offing us once we help you fly outta here?"  She grins at him, pulling the goggles up onto her forehead.

Shal follows Myitt out, and watches her friends, and the newcomers from several feet away. She crosses her arms, and leans against some nearby wreckage.

"Nothing, I suppose. Still got a contract out on Temrash, and it probably wouldn't be too hard to get any money out of your hide." He said. "But you know what? I'm tired, and not in the mood for such things. We'll just save the animosity for another day." He gave a gentle slap on Myitt's back, but it wound up knocking her over. "Oops."

Mar glances at Corliss, suddenly noticing that he's spoken. Mar smiles pleasantly at him, which is probably the oddest thing Corliss has seen all day. "I call my precious "Precious" because that's what she is. She's beautiful and sweet in most other lives she's been in. Also..." *Mar grins nastily. "...it does mean she's mine as far as I'm concerned. She can run free in this life all she wants, but that's about all she has left."

Mar then turns back to the lovely young woman he's speaking with, glancing at her scar. "Oh, I'm so sorry. You must have very much to be sad about with such a sordid past, then. I have offered my services should you need help with that. Do be careful. Oh, and Breekan...I'm not really a vampire. I just look like one. The fangs have no purpose other than to tear through meat."

"I'm not entirely sure that I understand what you mean by your services," Kara says, "but I don't know how much good they would do. Do you often go around searching for clients in dive bars throughout the galaxy?"

She raises an eyebrow, trying to appear cynical and off-putting. But now the alcohol is raising a nice haze about her and she can't help a small smile that appears grotesquely lopsided as a result of her scar. A second later and she barks out a laugh, as if something in their conversation has just now become genuinely amusing.

Mar grins widely. He's been having quite a pleasurable experience himself, and so laughs along with her.

"Normally my clients ask for me themselves and they're often very desperate or greedy people. Of course, some of the requests I've gotten have been truly unique and I've gotten rather involved. The whole thing sometimes turns into a game of wits; mine against theirs. Although recently yes I've been looking for my clients directly."

"Oh? And why's that?" She asks with a wry smile, "Business slow?"

Leaning back on the stool and stretching widely she feels some of her apathy shake off of her. Perhaps this was exactly what she needed - a night out, talking to intriguing strangers, with a happy drink alongside to keep her from wallowing.

Mar pauses on this for a moment. Truth be told, he's not sure. It seems as though for the past hundred or so years he has been deliberately looking for customers. This worries him somewhat, but he imagines that since many worlds are in such a decadent age he shouldn't have any problem.

"I suppose, but that doesn't make much sense. Mortals are just as hopeless as they were when things began, if not more so. For every society that exists in a peaceful utopia there is a place like this one."

"I'm not hopeless." She sticks out her lower lip belligerently, for a second looking like a scorned child instead of a slightly drunk adult. She pushes her dark curls back in irritation and turns her head away from him again, hiding in her profile.

"Besides," she adds with a small smile, "What makes you think you aren't the hopeless one? Running around vying for the attention of others, so that you can do whatever it is you do? Seems a bit trivial to me."

Mar lies back idly, sipping his drink. "Maybe it is. But if it gives me enough power to get what I really want, then I don't really care that I look like an idiot. Although, I would prefer to do my business in style. And I am drunk and weak. Hahah."

Mar laughs out loud for no real reason. "Besides, I can't even make a move until I'm sure it's safe to leave. The kid says Crayak knows I'm here, and I'm not just going to let my precious die again right after I saved her life."

"Crayak?" She purses her lips in slight befuddlement. "Crayak is an Andalite myth, isn't he? A campfire tale of sorts. No such being exists. It's preposterous. A nearly all-powerful being, bent on evil? And a counterpart called the Ellimist bent on good?" She snorts derisively, "It's no more realistic a story in its portrayal of good and evil than the gods that the humans believe in."

Mar's eyes glint oddly. For some reason, he suddenly looks more alert and slightly less drunk. "It's interesting that you should say that. The problem with the way so many mortal species write the tale is that they write it in a terribly stupid fashion. Good and evil..." *Mar gestures with his prosthetic arm, which suddenly seems ominous..."...black and white. The truth is much more complicated than that, and much more gray."

"As for Crayak...I can tell you that he's as real as you are. And so is his opponent. I have no intention of provoking a confrontation with him at all."

"In another life?" Corliss barks, laughing.  "Well, you don't own 'er now, mate, so lay off the cutesy stuff."  He pauses, listening to Kara's conversation with Mar. "As for humans, what does that make you, then?" he chimes in, taking another sip of lager nonchalantly.

---

Myitt shakes her head.  "Fine by me, man, I'm tired too," she says wearily.  "Is there anything else you need?  Maybe a coke, a large fry?  I think I'm ready to head back to the bar.  Your nav system should be up and running, though."  She rubs the back of her neck awkwardly with her left hand.  "Good luck."  She shrugs and starts gathering her tools.

"I'm going to go help Temrash and Oss in the back." He said, and exited the c0ckpit.

Breekan looks vaguely flabbergasted at this talk of Crayak's non-existence; almost offended, mostly amused. He snorts. "Buddy, if you're living a life where you can afford not to believe in Crayak, you thank your lucky stars and you hope that nothing changes." He looks down at the sleeping Keirdan. "With him, good things only happen to get ruined; like the set-up of a bad joke."
