"I was wondering if..." Fletcher struggled to get out. "If...I might team up with you."
"Team up with me?" Gaz questioned. "After you criticized what I do and...and tried to steal my ship, I might add."
Fletcher blinked. "You're never going to let that go."
"What about the other group you're usually with?" Gaz asked.
Fletcher avoided eye contact. "Well...they...what I mean is..."
"They marooned you here, didn't they?" Gaz finished. "You didn't know I was here. It was all chance."
Fletcher's shoulders slumped as he finally sat down. "Yeah," he admitted. "I was hoping I'd be able to bum a ride."
"So, why do you think I should take you on?" Gaz questioned.
"I could...help you find things," Fletcher offered, "jobs and such. I'm good with charts and...useful..."
Gaz raised an eyebrow. She turned to Keidran, who looked like he might need cheering up, and asked, "What do you think, kid? Should we let him in?"
