Temrash slowed his pace as he neared the crash site, through the trees. Smoke could still be smelled in the air, from the crash, and the hunter's tracks could be seen. He stopped when he came within sight of it. The hunter was looking at the engine, and tools were strewn about. Temrash hesitated to make himself known, and glanced around for Ossy.

(I like to drink from time to time. Once I drank so much that I had a head rush, and had to pee every 5-10 minutes. Fun times.)

*Ossanlin sees the bounty hunter and motions to the trees with his stalk eyes.  He speaks privately to Alic.*  <<In the trees...and stay back so that he can't hear a thought-speech shout.  I still need you in range of the bar too or that communicator is of no use at all.>>

*Ossanlin turns his main eyes on Temrash and Jagill, checking the grips on his katana one last time before speaking privately to them.*  <<I hope you're right.  Otherwise this plan could turn out backfiring badly.  You're his quarry, I leave things up to you from now on.  If you want me to address him first, I will...otherwise, be my guest.>>  *Ossanlin smiled tightly with his eyes before squaring himself...he was very surprised the hunter hadn't noticed their approach.*

Alic nods, almost disapointed. But she understood that at this moment this was where she was supposed to be. She reached out to touch Ossanlin's side to let him know she would be there when he returned. After all, she really didn't believe they would need her.

In thought speech to the members back at the bar: <Apparently, I'm in place. Whatever happens, happens.> Alic shrugged, as if they could see her. <Ill let you know...>

Mar nods calmly, sitting back at one of the bar stools. "Let us know immediately if anything happens to our boarding party of sorts. I felt quite close to the Andalite, which may bear further use. Myitt is desperately important, and if she dies again there will be consequences when I leave this place."

Mar glances at Breekan oddly. "I've heard you have an association with the dangers of this realm. Crayak is not a creature to be trifled with. It's one of the reasons I had to come in my current state, and one of the reasons I came at all. You seem to be able to be used as an agent of his, but not of your own will. How came you by this?"

"Funny you should ask, because I only got the details myself a little while ago," Breekan replies with a sad grin. "But... Well, the details are a tad depressing, to be honest. Not to mention embarrassing. The short version is: Crayak made me to work that way. I'm equal parts punching bag and murder machine. If he needs me to kill someone, he turns me into something that's willing to kill. If I need to do something extraordinary, I have to avoid letting myself get transformed again." He looks into Shal's eyes. "He's always turning us into scarier versions of ourselves."

"I'ts impolite to stare!" The hunter shouted suddenly, without looking away from his ship. "My sense of smell is keen!"

Temrash stiffened a little, but proceeded towards the hunter. He went just close enough that they could talk without shouting at each other. He turned to face Temrash. "Can't we talk about this? You don't seem to be like the steriotypical bounty hunter. Money crazy sociopath who views life as objects."

"I try not to cause too much damage to bystanders. They might be future employers at some point. You don't fit the steriotypical Yeerk trooper either. Blindly loyal slavedriver who views life as one of five ranks of host species. So you came to settle things finally? Why bring the Andalite?"

"I came to talk. Why do you need to work for the corrupt Council who started the largest intergalactic war this century? Not to state the obvious, or anything, but they're evil."

"Hah! People can justify anything they do with a bit of effort. I'm in this proffession for the excitement, and because I'm my own boss. I'm good at fighting, and hunting is one of the few ways I can do it without joining a military force to take command form higher ups. I don't have time to weigh the morals of my clients. By the time I decide whether they're good or bad in my opinion, they've moved to other hunters. Besides, I don't care who wins the Andalite Yeerk war. My people pushed back both your species easily."

"What do I have to do to get you off my back? Do I really have to kill you?"

"Is that really a problem for you? How many people have you killed, that you never knew?"

"I'm really tired of mass murdering people. Especially for people I don't like. That's why I left."

"Breek, you have the comm link, Ossanlin can always send us a thought speech message for help."  Myitt shrugs.  "Alright, Corliss, let's go, time's a-wasting."  They make their way outside and onto Corliss' weird, crouched Skimmer ship--it looks like a combination praying mantis and lobster, made out of black metal.  It's much bigger than the average Bug fighter, too, which makes it even more challenging to fly solo.

"Open exterior hatch," Corliss says matter-of-factly, and the side melts open in the usual living metal way.  The two siblings climb aboard, and as the hatch melts closed, the ship flickers and disappears.

"Alright, let's get this puppy off the ground," says Corliss, tapping a number of controls at the main viewscreen.

"You sure you don't want weapons?" Myitt asks, settling behind the weapons station.  "You were always a better shot than I was."

"Can you fly this thing?" Corliss asks, glancing sideways at her.

"Sure I can.  Might take me a minute.  Weapons, I know."

"Uh huh.  Stick with the weapons until you've memorized the operations manual," says Corliss wryly.

"Fine, fine."

The cloaked ship lifts off the ground, sending dust flying, leglike landing gear retracting into its invisible crustacean body.

It swiftly hovers over the tree line, and in a few moments they have spotted the hunter's disabled ship.  "There's Temrash and Ozzy," says Myitt.  "I've got a bead on his ship, but it looks like they're just...talking.  Lame."  She checks the ship's comm link system, finding the one she left on the bar counter for Breekan.

On the counter inside the bar, the little flat black square chirps.  "Hey, Earth to you guys.  Can y-chh- hear me?"

*Ossanlin wasn't caught terribly off-guard as he watched the banter between the Nisraeln and the Yeerk silently, trying to look non-committal.  At a brief silent period during some possible hostilities...he jumps in to fill the void, hoping to avoid violence.*  <My name is Ossanlin-Rethin-Sephirel...>  *He left off his title and honorifics...they would do little good in this situation, the hunter wouldn't care.*  <I cam because I hope to help be an intermediary between you two.  Look, we've all killed beings...sentient beings...before.  We've all got blood on our hands.  Personally I dislike it.  I don't kill unless it's absolutely necessary because every time I do, I think of the families and friends of that person, and what future that person might've had if it weren't for me.  I don't like it at all.  Perhaps if I had the power to give or restore life, it would be easier to take it away, but I don't have that ability.>  *He thinks briefly back to Myitt and the events that had happened what seemed like so long ago...he was fairly certain that had been a one-time shot and he doubted he'd be able to do that again without killing himself and d*mning the very soul he was trying to save...so it was the truth now.  No reason to bring that up though.*

*Ossanlin pauses briefly and steps forward just a couple of steps, completely non-threatening, more-or-less moving toward the middle between the two, breathing evenly, keeping his hands well away from his swords and his tail low.*  <We've come in peace to talk.  If we'd have come with other intentions, we'd have brought the rest of the bar with us, but we don't want to fight.  The way you came into the bar when I was unconscious...you could've killed us all, or simply shot Temrash where he sat immobilized by the scanner but you didn't.  You have honor.  I think you dislike killing as much as we do.  There are more important things in life and no matter what, an honorable being never finds it easier to snuff out someone's life like a candle in the wind...I'm not saying you can't do it, obviously you can and are willing to.  But it still opens a new gash somewhere in your mind.  You bury it, like I do, but it's still there like an open wound festering.  It doesn't get easier, and we'll carry the wounds fresh and unscarred until we die...that's why I try to avoid violence and the death of others if there's any option to do so.  There's no reason you can't do that as well.>  *Ossanlin continues to make eye-contact with the Nisraeln, aiming both stalk-eyes straight at Temrash, not moving them, showing the hunter that he felt no danger under this truce, all that mattered were the hunter and the Yeerk and hork-bajir.*

"What is your group really trying to do, anyway?" The hunter asked Ossy. "You want me to get rid of my contract on him? What do you plan to do?"

It hadn't been very long, but Alic was becoming impatient. She rolled her eyes at the communicator and tossed it over her shoulder. She started towards where her friend, the hunter, and the yeerk were, making sure to be quiet.
Without cracking a twig on the ground, she made her way close enough to get a view of everyone. Alic kept out of sight and watched patiently now. It seemed as peaceful as it could be at this point, but she didn't trust Jagill almost as much as the hunter.

"And about how many have you brought to this little meeting? There seems to be a late arriver. Bring her out. Let her speak her mind, or go find something else to do." The hunter said.

"Tell me she didn't come over here." Temrash whispered to Ossy, who was the only one between them who could look behind without being obvious about it. Though it was obvious the hunter smelled something. "Why don't we stick to the topic at hand. My new allies are resistors of the Council, and other species, who I would like to believe all want an end to this war."

"You know that if you end this one, a new conflict will just start up. That's the way life is. constant turmoil between opposing forces, with extremeists willing to eradicate those that don't serve their will."

*Ossanlin grimaced internally, but let none of it show on his face.  He just knew he couldn't trust her, why had he given her a chance.  He directs a private speech to Alic, his tone obviously that of a person barely keeping his cool confidence from boiling into anger.*  <<I told you to wait back there!  I cannot trust you Aliciania-Kilomes-Arendes!  So what happens now if we get into trouble, how will there be help now?  I should've chosen someone I knew I could trust, who knew how to follow orders!  You're jeopardizing this entire mission of peace!  It was myself and Temrash, and now the hunter smells you, he knows you're there so there's no point in hiding.  In fact I'd be happy if you stepped out, said nothing, and returned to the bar very obviously and out in the open.  Make a point of all of us seeing you walking back to the bar, and if you sulk, that's all the better.  I knew I shouldn't have trusted you, but I decided to give you a chance.  No more.  I was foolish and I don't make the same mistake more than once.  Go now or there will be consequences...dire ones.>>

*Ossanlin refocused after Temrash spoke.  If Alic did not emerge from the trees and go back to the bar soon, he would have to speak about her anyway.  A child's curiosity and desire to see this situation would help explain her away, though it would make Ossanlin look a fool for not realizing he had been followed.  But there was little help for it now, the damage had been done.*
