"Respect? We're freaking killing the guy!" Breekan laughs. His grin fades to a more serious look as he hunches over. "Look, we need to analyze our reasons for offing this fellow. If it's for some warrior game or petty vendeta, I want no part of it. If we're killing him because he's a significant threat and we have no other way of neutralizing him- which seems to be the case- then our primary goal here is to save ourselves, rendering an unnecessary direct conflict counter-intuitive." He leans back. "It's basic Slaughter-Philosophy. I was a general for Crayak, I've got a PhD in that sort of thing. And on a more personal note," he looks down to Keirdan, "with a direct attack, we risk hurting those who aren't even involved in this. And I think their lives are worth about a billion times more than some roid-jumbled Bounty Hunter's abstract post-mortum respectability. Or ours, for that matter."

Myitt barks a laugh.  "He's a bounty hunter, he'd do the same thing to any of us.  Respect...hah...I don't think that creature has respect for anyone other than himself."  She sighs, glancing at Corliss.  "The only reason I'd wager us against him is if we knew he was planning our demise, right now.  However likely that might be....I'm not going in for a preemptive strike."  She taps her Dracon on the table.  "If we can destroy his ship, we can destroy a great deal of his strength."

<Hhmmph.> Alic stomped one hoof on the floor in protest. <I agree. No respect. We go after him and take him down.>
She brought her tail forward as if she could already picture what she could do to him. <I will cut his heart out.>
She took a deep breath, excited about the battle to come. Alic was pretty sure there was something wrong with her, no sensible female andalite liked violence.
She let go of Ossanlin, eager to show her friends she was just fine so they wouldn't try to stop her from going with them.

"That's not a bad plan, Myitt. It's buckets easier than going after the guy, and a smidge nicer, to boot."

"I respect him as a worthy adversary. Also, I don't think he's as evil as some bounty hunters I've come across. For instance, he never just blasted the bar from the start. He knew I was in here, and he came himself. But your opinions are your own. I'm not begging for a confrontation right now, but eventually he will come after me. It's his job. He may or may not kill Myitt, depending on how wanted you are. Now disabling his already broken down ship would aid us, and greatly slow him down. But that would just make him all the angrier when he does catch up. Your call, guys."

Mar pauses, thinking over the various options for destroying the bounty hunter. This conflict doesn't really concern him too terribly much, but if the bounty hunter is some kind of threat to his precious then helping might be to his advantage. Besides, if the conflicts calm down he might stand a chance of seeing Myitt out of the bar and getting a drink himself. At this rate I might need one.

Mar then glances at Temrash. "The man attacked you, and put the patrons of this bar in danger. That is reason enough to kill him. I know my opinion does not really count but even if it does not, I may be able to help the others destroy the ship. If the bounty hunter is gotten rid of Myitt is that much closer to leaving the bar alive. I cannot produce the kind of firepower I would be able to ordinarily, but I can surely produce something of use."

((Note: Mar is being helpful mainly because I want him to be. It's entertaining. X3 He would normally leap at the chance to see Myitt dead a few decades earlier than expected. But hey, that's his mortality and the Space Bar for ya. >3 ))

*Ossanlin shakes his head, sparing another glance for Alic before she lets go of his arm.*  <Honor is a tricky thing.  Beings with honor are generally doomed to die early deaths, but those who have none are often doomed to an eternity of despair.  He obviously wasn't bristling for a fight...perhaps we should try some diplomacy first before any blades fly.>

*Ossanlin regards Temrash with his main eyes.*  <If he must be destroyed, rest assured that I can do so.  If my tail doesn't catch him off-guard, my katana will.  I'm deadly when I need to be.  But I will still advocate diplomacy...if we could simply show him the stupidity of the Empire, and the possible benefits of a different life, we may be able to sway him away from his profession...AND his contract in so doing.  Of course he may be driven by nothing but credits...that's the way with many bounty-hunters...but if he himself has honor, we may be able to end this with peace.>

*He looks significantly at Alic who seems to be spoiling for a fight despite hardly being able to keep her own hooves under her.*  <Talk can often be more effective than violence.>  *He looks back up at Myitt and then Temrash.*  <At the very least, talk would allow us to get close to him possibly away from his ship if he decides that he still wants to take anyone in.  A ruthless tactic, but effective nonetheless.>

"Hmm. I honestly don't know anything about his contract, or why he's even a bounty hunter at all. I don't know what the Empire is payiong him, or if giving him more money would keep him from killing me. I doubt he's the kind of guy that's raising money for a sick mother, or to feed a starving community. I could try to talk with him. Ossy and I, and possibly Myitt, can leave the bar together to attempt to do so, while the others remain on standby incase negotiations break down."

Mike looked to Keirdan as he made his case-in-point speaking to Breekan. His eyes seemed to slowly work their way from the boy's grasp, trying to look back up to Breekan, <Well if you can think of any way to...> He hesitated then, feeling the boy petting his furry back. Guilt swept through him, wondering if he should continue to ask the bat-creature to help him get away from Keirdan without hurting the boy's feelings. But he knew if he demorphed he'd be blind, and also he'd be forced to confront Myitt and Alic about what happened before. So he just shook his head and then pushed it into the boy's chest. <Nevermind.>

B1 sends Mike a quick glance of acknowledgement but says nothing, not wanting to blow the kid's cover. "I like that plan, except do you guys have any way of reaching us if you need back-up? Or will we be in thought-speech range?"

"His ship didn't crash too far from here, and that's likely where the hunter is. We should be within earshot. Or thoughtspeech range. The place borders the woods. If a fight starts, we can use the trees for cover as we fight, until you guys show up."

Temrash looked at Ossy's arms and swords, as if noticing them for the first time. Andalites weren't known for fighting with anything besides their tails. He wondered how much more effective that would be. The though crossed Jagill's mind that it might be interesting to spar with that kind of Andalite.

<Maybe one day we can test it out. All in fun, of course.> Temrash said.

<Yes.>

Mar promptly decides in his own mind that he will assist should their parlay with the bounty hunter go awry. He doesn't understand why these people change plans so fast, nor why they would be concerned with the honor of creatures whose profession demands they live without it. Mar's eyes glint as he glances them over, but realizes quickly that he should have known his senses would be rather dim. In any case, what I got was rather vague. They're utterly morally ambiguous, the whole group of them. Only a few seem to have what you'd call "honor" themselves if their life was in danger.

He glances at Myitt and states irritably, "Two people risked their lives to preserve your own, and you're thinking about taking on a bounty hunter? .....I will be here if something goes wrong, in any case. I wish you hadn't picked such a senselessly dangerous profession."

Alic crossed her arms swayed a little, using her tail for balance. What was wrong with them? She was thinking to herself, if she had any say they would already be on their way back with his head as a trophy.
<I want to come.> She said plainly. Alic knew she could handle it, she was only a little out of it. But if they had asked her to stay, she would. She sighed, knowing she might miss out on the action.

Breekan smiles at Alic. "Tell you what- if these knuckleheads really do end up needing us to save their bacon, I'll be more than happy to let you have the final blow. Or any other blow you'd like to take, for that matter." He looks around for his glass of Gutwhiskey. "I'm perfectly content lazing about a few hundred feet in the air as long as none of you get hurt."
