"Good," Myitt says, struggling to control her anger, mouth twitching.  "Then let it fall apart.  You're a fool to threaten everything my friends have fought and died for."  She raises her Dracon again, jabbing it at Mar.  "I could easily destroy you and rid ourselves of one less threat."

<Then why don't you?>

Her finger doesn't pull the trigger, and she glares at Mar, trying to figure out...why?

Conner picked up a dracon beam and pointed it at this foes head.

"Give me one good reason not to destroy you."

*smiles a bit as Applix relaxes.  He had known that Applix was not a true andalite ever since he'd known him, but the color and shape changes still caught him off-guard, quick as they had been.*  <Well, I'm glad you're relaxing a bit.  You've been a little uncomfortable ever since you arrived.>

*He drinks up the rest of his Mirfan, listening idly to the conversation between the others.  Suddenly he feels a strong twinge in his senses as Myitt baits the stranger for information, and his tail stands straight up in the air, all four eyes turning to focus on the stranger.   This was bad, he didn't know what it was about the stranger, but his aura was very strong...Ossanlin begins to will his silver-blade form into being.  His fur ripples as a small wave of silver washes through it before it reverts back to blue.  He'd had so little time to recover his energy, he was still too weak, and on top of that, the Ellimist had told him it would take him some time and practice before he could will the transformation quickly.  He continues to will his silver-blade powers forth as he turns his main eyes back to Applix, his stalk eyes still locked on the stranger who called himself Mar, though Ossanlin was sure it was simply a name that he used to relate to ordinary beings, something he certainly was not.  He directs a private thought-speech to Applix.*  <<This Mar is not what he seems...I sense a very dark and powerful aura...keep your eyes open...there's a secondary shredder strapped to my tactical harness behind the left hip of my torso.>>

*to Tara and Myitt he directs another private thought-speech*  <<I know you already know he's more than he seems...I won't be able to transform for some time...I may still be too weak to do so at all.  I'll do what I can, just know that I sense a dark and powerful aura surrounding him...it's oppressive.  Keep your guard up and be careful...if you need backup, gesture with your free hand.>>

Breekan listens with increasing curiosity to the exchange between Mar and Myitt, with Conner's occasional interjections. He glances at Jess as she stares at him, and pretends not to notice. As Conner levels his gun at Mar, Breekan leans over and whispers into the human's ear. "Let Myitt handle this, Conner. This is her fight." He pauses, grins, and adds "Besides, if you really are from an alternate Universe, killing him won't change the outcome of your war anyway!"

Shalner's lips begin to silently move. She begins to swat at the air in front of her, trying to knock something away from her. She drops her hand after a few swats. It sits on her lap twitching. Her eyes are still on Breekan, her lips still moving.

Applix looked over the situation behind him with both his main and stalk eyes, showing he had great trust in his andalite friend not to even keep one on him. He felt and heard the change in the air as Ossanlin's tail went to attention. He could feel his body already turning to normal, looking at himself to make sure he was still blue. The figure named "Mar" indeed seemed strange but he didn't get the same impression about him as his friend Ossanlin did. He gave a private thought-speak to the other andalite, <<Don't be too hasty. You can't go around shooting people because they give you a bad feeling. Someone needs to defuse the situation.>>

Applix looked towards Myitt carefully, lowering his brows as he wondered if she might shoot this stranger. But his instincts told him that even though she seemed very intent on doing just that, that she respected life enough not to just end his on a whim. Applix seemed to hold steady where he was beside Ossanlin, his smaller and more fragile body overshadowed by his friend's bigger frame. Again, he remained silent, still feeling somewhat of a stranger to all of this.

"Conner," says Myitt, glaring at Mar from behind her weapon.  "This creature is of no concern to you.  This is between the two of us."  She narrows her eyes.  "Three of us.  He won't harm you."  Her finger tightens a bit more on the Dracon.  "I, however, can't give him the same assurance."  She scoffs at Mar.  "My soul.  You expect me to believe such a thing?  That somehow you control my destiny and simultaneously seek to destroy everything I've worked for all these years?  You really must have a death wish."

Conner nodded, and lowered his weapon. He sat down at the table, and ordered a shot of fire ale. He swigged it, and said.

"Go ahead myitt."

Mar laughs a bit darkly. It's not a good kind of laugh. He glances toward Ossalin and smirks. It seems I haven't been careful enough. I've caught the attention of an Andalite, and they are closer to empaths than they know. If I still remember what happened. Blast, this was a terrible idea, coming down here in this way. Hopefully I still have access to some things...

"I suppose in a way I do. But there are so many people here who catch my interest. As for whether I have your soul...well, what does it matter? For the moment that has no reflection on either body, no? And destiny...is a terribly flexible thing, really. You shouldn't be so concerned about that."

"Excellent, then I won't," Myitt says, smirking.  "But you've threatened my crazy, fantastic band of friends and their cause.  I really can't let that fly, you know."  She tilts her head, curious.  "You're very powerful.  That much I also know.  Why can't you help us, instead of hindering us?  If you care so much...why can't you help?"

Mar pauses, checking around the room quickly to determine the situation. Unclear as he is of how much has been retained and how much has been lost, he does not know what the outcome of a fight with these opponents would be. I don't want to start something if I can help it...

"Helping you would complicate things that I have set in motion. Suffice it to say that I seek to benefit if the Empire spreads, and certainly not if its members find another method of existence besides conquering. I have business with you, but not enough to alter the situation here."

Mar glances at Myitt. "If you need some kind of assistance that doesn't involve helping the rebellion, remember that I never do something for nothing."

"Yes," Myitt sneers.  "You're the devil, after all.  I really want help in the munitions department, namely helping my people fight...my people.  But since you clearly can't do that and only want me, or the spiritual projection of myself that may or may not exist, then I'm afraid we can't help each other.  Is there anything else?"  She sniffles.  "Because I'm really itching to shoot you, I'll give you fair warning."

"What in the world gives you this impression that I'm anything but a powerful, interested third party?" Mar states, the frustration obvious in his voice at this point. "And no, I don't feel like getting shot. You want some kind of...arms? Weapons?"

Mar paces back and forth idly. Rebels do not trust such things. And I am not inclined for them to happen upon what they seek.

"...I don't really want to do such a thing, no. But why so hostile? Do you normally kill off enemies that agree to pay your tab?"

"When they claim to have me under their control, yes, I'm naturally suspicious," Myitt snarls.  "And I know that if you supply us with military aid it will only come at a far greater cost than anything the damned Skrit Na would charge us.  So perhaps we really can't do anything for each other.  Especially if one of us isn't being entirely truthful."  She sets the Dracon down and glares at the shiny lineup of glasses behind the bar.  Unbelievable!  This pompous creature marching in here and declaring that he has control over her life...

<Um, Myitt?  Pot calling the kettle...?>

<Oh, come on, you have control sometimes...>

<Uh huh.>

Mar grins. "Actually, I haven't claimed even once that I have any control over your life at all. I have claimed that were I not in my current awkward position due to the way this place works, I would be a demonic entity of sorts that has your soul. But you do not believe in such things, and so therefore I am no one at all but someone who you do not remember."

Mar lays back. "You can make of that what you will, dear. And I will merely wait for you, as long as it takes."
