Myitt makes sure to hang on to the control of Tamora's hands until the last possible moment, while she slithers back into Tara's head.

Mike smiles back.  "Well, if she were open to the idea of alliance and cordiality, she wouldn't be so much of a git, now would she?  Sorry Efaen, reckon it's true though, don't you?"

"You sound like a guy people wouldn't want to get cross with..." Salem's comment about personal gain tugged at Rayker's attention, but he just tucked that observation into a corner of his mind. "That's a lot of new information to take in. This is starting to sound like some freaky H.G. Wells story..."

"Sure, I'll bet. I like this game." Jackson said. He smiled to himself slightly. I'm not half bad at this....

I hate waiting...Carson got up and went to the room Temrash had shut himself in. He knocked on the door. "How are things going?" He had no idea how long it took to read Desmond's memories.

Mar grins a bit nastily at Rayker. "Well, it was all going on behind the back of you mortals. Since what we do doesn't usually show up in such a physical way, it isn't one of your concerns. But that doesn't mean that our actions can't effect you."

Mar then wracks his brain for who exactly he was, trying to answer Rayker's question about his strength. "I was...powerful, yes. At least powerful enough to be noticed by the mortals I spent my time manipulating. They had various ways of interpreting my presence, similar to the old tales of the Ellimist on the Andalite home world. If you know what it is I speak of. But there were those far greater."

He thinks of it in past tense now, as if the person here is someone else entirely. He simply doesn't feel connected with that harsh presence anymore.

"I think I heard that name before... Is that "Ellimist" like you?." Rayker replied. "It seems that you're a lot more... pleasant... than you say you were before..." He tipped his mug back, upset at not being able to get that last drop at the bottom.

Mar nods, though still obviously unclear on what he means. "Yes, but it depends on what sense you mean that in. I consider him a Highest like myself. But he was a Highest that was more beneficial to the mortals he oversaw. I call him a Light side Highest, though that isn't what he'd call himself."

A bitter, tired expression crosses Mar's face. "I am familiar with their sort. I knew one stronger than myself very closely. And if you'd call powerless, emotional, and confused pleasant, then I suppose I am. But I don't see it as an improvement. When I came here, I knew exactly what my place was. Now I haven't a clue what I'm supposed to do with my life."

"I think that's a fairly common trait of mortality. Neither do we. I'm sitting here drinkin' coffee and watching a poker game that I'm sitting out on to talk with a Highest, as you call yourself. My friends are busy capturing the guy I've spent more than twenty years chasing through existence, probably in danger, or worse." That really didn't come out too eloquently, he thought. He seemed to realize something. What would he do if this ended today? What if they got him? "And I don't even know how their doing...."

Mar shrugs, looking bored as he takes a sip of his glass. "Your friends are really your own problem. But you say there's a man you've been chasing for a while on this asteroid? I wouldn't start a conflict if I were you. This place seems to be..." Mar then rolls his eyes. "...just filled with conflicts."

Mar grins. "I mean within the first few minutes that I was here, I was threatened by nearly everyone in the Bar. Then my Precious was shot and I had to bring her back to life with the help of a servant of the Ellimist. That is how things will get after you've been here for a bit."

Managing to keep hold of the crates of canned foods, Tora makes her way off her ship and back towards Corliss's, weaving unsteadily between the parked ships. Perhaps it is all the morphing or the aftereffects of inhaling strange chemicals, but her arms feel like lead and legs like jelly. It will be time to go home soon... that or take a nap. She supposes which depends on Corliss's schedule. As she nears his ship, her thoughts center on Terenia, a rumination that is betrayed by the worried frown on her lips.

Rayker laughed. "Man, you sure got that right. We got shot at right out of the ship..." Rayker paused momentarily and stared at nothing. "...Then again, we were wearing the enemies uniform.... Long story. We'd actually come here on his ship, disguised as his crew. The idiot never knew... I guess I shouldn't call him an idiot, since it did take us two decades to get so close. Desmond is a very resourceful, very selfish m - being."

"Done here now." Jagill said after everything was finished. "I go check with Temrash. You come?" He asked Dara, before starting to leave. On his way out he decided to have a little snack, and stripped some bark from the tree. He was both content to have some time alone to move his own body, but also worried about Temrash. He might have even decided to take an extended break if there wasn't a chance that someone on the Pride would decide to kill Desmond with Temrash in him.

He thought about it a bit, and wondered what other business he might do for Temrash while the Yeerk worked. He had checked in with Myitt, so he might check in with Corliss.

"Hey Dara. You want go see Corliss with me? Corliss other rebel friend."

"Sure, I'll go with you." Dara also stripped off some bark. He turned to follow Jagill.

"Corliss not at bar, and not with Myitt. Maybe in ship at junkyard." He said and started jogging towards the shipyard. He was actually having a bit of fun with Dara. usually when Temrash was out he would just sit patiently and guard his Yeerk, but now he was running errands. So far that was pretty fun for him. As he neared the ship, he noticed a Human carrying things in that direction, and slowed down so he wouldn't startle her.

Dara followed Jagill. "Are you and Temrash part of the rebellion?"

"Not completely. We not talk to leader yet. Right now Temrash just have his own people. Soldiers who still loyal after he leave Empire. They work in Empire, and he uses that to fight Council. We talk to rebel leader soon enough, I think."
