Tamora gives the Andalite a thin lipped smile and nod, her knuckles white as they clutch her beverage. With careful precision she pries one hand from the glass and extends it to shake Ronny's; she drops the handshake quickly, returning to her nervous position. Her Imperial uniform feels like a blazing neon sign and she watches Ronny's tail carefully, wondering if he is the sort of Andalite that acts before thinking.


"I am not going to kill you," Terenia says begrudgingly, "Or infest you or let you become a nothlit or anything else. Demorph if it makes you feel better, if you have the energy. Once you're not on the brink of unconsciousness I'd - I'd like to speak with you."

*makes a mental note of Tamora's strange, nervous behavior. It could be easily chalked up to human nervousness at encountering something new, but given the circumstances of her surroundings here in the bar, something told tells me that she has no problem with the strange or absurd. And there was much here that appeared to be both. I flick my tail in a display of idle movement while lowering my hand to my side.
I step back and begin to morph, my humanoid torso slowly and efficiently changing to that of a true human. My Andalite tail shrinking to nothing - the defenseless feeling of the shrinking will always be disconcerting, there's no getting past that - while the rest of the body closes in together, my two rear legs melting into the front ones to form a single pair. The balancing act performed on a daily basis by bipeds is an amazing one, and though I have it down now, the first few weeks were a marvel to me*

*the morphing act finished - with my updated gear to allow me the morphing of human clothing, something developed since the Earth invasion was halted for the sake of their strange views of decency - I pulled a chair out from the table and sat, watching this Director and the Tamora girl with interest*

"So. Director. You are obviously of Earth origin. What brings you to this place?"

"At the moment I don't know anymore. They apparently hit me with the Serum too but somebody or something got me out of there and stopped the rest of my change. We don't know who or what it was or what exactly I am." She looked to the table and made a fist. "The CG is gunna pay for what they've done to my family."

[Chad32]

"Something stronger than this little handheld dracon. Also something that's not an energy weapon, perhaps. Some stun grenades, and an emp device. Also a ship designed to take down another ship rather than designed to evade." Temrash said. He didn't know if Gaz would have everything, but he was partly thinking aloud. He hadn't put together everything he might need yet.


"Well, I'm not one to say no to revenge." Cody said. "Good luck with that too. I don't know if Sukohn would be willing to help or not. I'm still waiting for Ossanlin to come back so I can ask about him."

[Gaz]

Gaz thought a moment and said, "I know we got some pretty powerful guns down there. Might have a stun grenade. We do use them on occasion when the need comes up."

Asda was looking at her computer when she gasped. "Oh no...I know what the chip is for. Fletc--"

The doctor turned to look for Fletcher, but he wasn't there anymore. He must have walked out to the bar...but Silver was there! Asda jumped up and ran out of the ship to the bar to stop Fletcher before something happened. With a lower hand she grabbed her bag just in case.

Fletcher walked into the bar for a drink. He approached the bar, not far from Silver. Suddenly a strange feeling came over him, something in his chest didn't feel quite right. He reached up and felt his pulse...it was slowing.

Asda ran into the bar, bag in her lower left hand. "Fletcher! Step away--"

"What's wrong with me?" Fletcher asked, right before he collapsed onto the floor.

Morgan was out of his seat in an instant and at Fletcher's side. Despite everything that had occurred, Morgan couldn't deny that young man had been a valued member of the crew.

Silver had heard Asda yell from the door and she stood. It was then Fletcher fell to the ground. Silver began to make her way to him.

[Chad32]

Temrash was a little surprised when Asda ran out, but he stayed with Gaz. "I would be grateful for some weapons. Though Salem could be flying around in the ship of his by now. That is, if he's still hanging around the area."


Cody and Claxter looked on curiously as Fletcher came in and collapsed. Asda had told him to step away from...something. Neither was sure.

(Is this really the first time Fletcher has been in proximity to Silver?)

¤close enough for the chip to work yes. Last time he was on the other side of the room.¤

[Gaz]

"What's going on?" Morgan asked as Asda was unfastening Fletcher's shirt.

"I found out what the chip does," Asda said. "It must have been inactive until recently. Something triggered it, but I can tell you we have a slight time line for when it was put in."

"And?" Morgan asked.

"It must have been placed in after Fletcher went rogue," Asda replied. "Someone must have known who she was and figured you would run across each other one day."

"So?" Morgan demanded. "What does it do?"

"Fletcher, as we learned," Asda said, "has cybernetic body parts after he apparently was in an accident on a CG job. One of those, was his heart. It's artificial and one of the main things keeping him alive, obviously. The chip, in close proximity, shut it down."

"It stopped his heart?!" Morgan exclaimed. Then Morgan looked at Asda. "Is there something you're not saying?"

"I recognized the chip," Asda said, "because it was something I helped design. Clear!!"

The last word was yelled because Asda had pulled out some sort of special defribulator from her bag. Morgan assumed it was one designed to work on artificial hearts.

Silver had pushed through to where Asda and Morgan had been, just catching her say clear. "What happened? Is he all right?" She asked.

[Gaz]

Morgan sighed as he tried to think of a way to explain.

"It's the chip," he said, "Asda says that she recognized it after studying her scan because it's something she helped design. Something triggered it and in close proximity...it stopped Fletcher's artificial heart."

"Then.....No! Dammit!" Silver turned and ran from the bar and into the woods around it. She kept running until she was out of breath and fell to the ground. She pulled herself into a ball and sat there crying.

[Gaz]

Morgan saw Silver run out of the bar. He shook his head, angry with himself, and ran after her. This was all happening too soon, she had recovered from her first episode and the news he dropped on her was sending her back. Though, Morgan couldn't have brought himself to lie to her, he respected his daughter too much for that.

At the same time Silver ran out of the bar, Andromeda was on her way to the bar to meet Morgan and find out why Asda had run off so fast.

Andromeda turned and fell to her knees beside Silver and wrapped her arms around her.

Morgan had caught up and quietly explained what was happening.

In response, Andromeda pulled Silver into a motherly embrace.

"Shhh," she murmured comfortingly, "you cannot blame yourself for any of this, my darling. The CG did terrible things, and even though we suffer the consequences...you are not to blame. Asda is a brilliant doctor, she'll figure out what to do. Everything will be all right."

The snakes on Andromeda's head reached down and tried to rub against Silver in an effort to offer some comfort.

A moment later, in a quiet voice, Andromeda began to sing the lullaby that she had sung to Silver when she was very young.

Meanwhile, inside, Asda was still trying to restart Fletcher's artificial heart. Suddenly there was success! A few seconds later, Fletcher was struggling to bring in breath.

Silver cried against her mother. After a little while she hd calmed down and only gave soft hiccups now. "Everythings been going all wrong lately. The only thing right was I found you guys again. That and Parker." She sniffled.

[Darth Revan]

The Director gave Ronny a puzzled look, "Obviously? How is it obvious? I thought it was obvious, how I referred to Humans as 'them', that I wasn't Human. Guess I was wrong." He shrugged the moment off and smiled, "No, I'm not from Earth. I'm from a planet called Gallifrey. Different planet, different universe in fact. I traveled here through a rift in Space and Time. How'd you end up here?"
