Well done! Even the cables down the bottom you've done well!
I am not sure about the lava-looking-red lights, but the Pool ship looks authentic!!! Great work!
The red lines are my interpretation of the lines in the schematic I based the model on. I tried a couple of approaches to them, liked this one the best. I'm still at work on the project, and I have yet to add bump mapping and proper lighting.
I wanted the ship to seem like a gross, bloated, living organism. The design of the ship's "head" is meant to have a few similar features as a Yeerk, based on book 29's illustration. The red lines on the head sort of look like a Yeerk swimming forwards.
Was this done with Maya? I can't even begin to use that program!!!
How long did it take ya, Hylian Dan?!
Yeah, it's a Maya project. It was assigned a week before Thanksgiving, and I've been working on it ever since then. Modeling took about two days, UV unwrapping took two days, texturing took three long days, and since then I've been running into a ton of problems and glitches and setbacks. Rigging it for animation took a full week.
It's my final project for my Intro to 3D Art class, due this Thursday. Prior to this project, I had made a stapler, textured a crate and barrel, and animated a pen in Maya.
If all goes well, I should have a youtube video of this thing in motion posted by next weekend.
Thanks for the comments!
