The deal with the Devil

In a previous post I put forth the idea that if another book were to be written, not questioning the order in the series or the circumstances of its publication, the book would be a deal with the devil of sorts. What I mean by this is that the book has to give us what we would like, but has something horrible in it. The way I see this happening would be K.A. writing a whole book by David's perspective and bashing all the animorphs. What do you think the price of a new book from a fans perspective is?

A book from David's PoV could be interesting.  I'm not sure it would fit into the series that well though, considering how it ended.

At first when I saw the subject, I thought you were going to say something about a book that used a Faustian bargain as the plot point.  That would be so sick. 8D

maybe the others wouldn't be as strong as Rachel, though, to resist.  Interesting concept.

they do a few times

Cassie betrays them all in 19, and then again in 50
Ax betrays them in 18 and 38
Jake kinda in 53

i know you mean kinda more like david tho, and in that sense id say definately not

 they are a pretty tight group. and i believe for the most part they would not give in their friends...but i gues it depends on how well they read each other,

I don't think Tobias would give Jake to Crayak in return for Rachel. He's just...got too much dignity and ethics for that.
And Rachel would never forgive him for it. :P

 yeah, i was thniking that. Tobias would know what rachel would want...and so it would come down to either his selfishness (wanting rachel) or his love (giving rachel what she would want even if it meant giving her up)

I certainly think so. He's shown several times that his own soul means nothing to him. He's got as many moral qualms as Cassie does (and don't get me started on her) but he does what has to be done anyway. Just look at the oatmeal incident in book 17. He's as morally against using chemical warfare as Cassie is, but he also knows that victory comes at any price, even if that price is his own soul.
