I really really think that some music enhances the books so well. Sometimes, I don't even realize that the music is in the background, but then i get chills as i read a line and I realize that the music was really helping whether to enhance an emotional scene, or to make it stand out.
i just thought of this, because I was listening to "Do you hear the people sing?" from Lez Mis while reading the quote from Terenia about rachel and David in book #48, this one
<Kill me, Rachel! If there's any humanity left in you at all, please kill me!>
"I'm one of the good guys." I choked, tears welling up in my eyes.
<Then do the good thing!>
[...]
I caught a glimpse of myself in a broken shard of mirror.
And saw what anyone looking down the alleyway from the sidewalk would have seen.
A young girl sitting knees-up in the sun, staring at a white rat.
It would be hard to believe the entire fate of the planet depended on that girl.
A girl who wanted to do the right thing.
But who had no idea at all what that was...
and reading it while listening to the music (even though it might not be antthing similar) just accented that scene and made Rachel seem like a strong, yet at some point, young vulnerable girl. It gave the character a new dimension.
I also remember rereading #18 to the soundtrack from "Perfect Dark 64" the game, and wow, it heightened it alittle.
