I recorded myself performing all of the Drode's spoken lines.

Hello! I haven't posted here in years, but I've never forgotten about you guys.

A few years ago, I discovered that it was really fun to do the voice of the Drode. I created this voice after reading in book 27 (http://animorphsforum.com/ebooks/27/), The Exposed, where it describes the Drode's voice as "high, shrill, and grating". I first shared this voice with the internet in some videos on my YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/dogman15/) in 2011 and 2012.

This was a long time ago, and I was using a very bad microphone to record my voice. In fact, I think it was a Nintendo 3DS microphone wired through a DS game called Jam Sessions, connected to my computer through a line in jack. But now I have a proper USB microphone that uses an XLR cable and everything, so it sounds better. A few weeks ago, I finally got my act together on this one thing and recorded myself performing just the Drode's lines, with way way less reading of the book's surrounding narration and other characters talking. Still, some of the lines were begging to be read, so you'll also hear my voices for Crayak, David, Rachel, and Alloran/Visser Three when they speak.

#27 - The Exposed: http://www.mediafire.com/download/gpyddq5jgqkr1d0/Drode_book_27.mp3
This is the first book the Drode appears in, in the Pemalite ship while the Animorphs are morphed as giant squids.

Megamorphs #3 - Elfangor's Secret: http://www.mediafire.com/download/2i9d4edlpsd2615/Drode_Megamorphs_3.mp3
The Drode kicks off this book's plot by explaining the messed-up timeline and the rules of how the Animorphs can go about fixing it, because both the Ellimist and Crayak agree that a single Yeerk/human shouldn't have access to the Time Matrix.

#48 - The Return: http://www.mediafire.com/download/7b0af9w8mguiupf/Drode_book_48.mp3
Crayak tries to get Rachel to join him, and the Drode has a small smattering of lines taunting her or being a spectator. This is where I couldn't resist doing some of the other characters.

Megamorphs #4 - Back to Before: http://www.mediafire.com/file/5jx7b9mh4qdivnj/Drode_Megamorphs_4.mp3
The Drode once again kicks off the plot by offering Jake the chance to pass by the construction site and never get their morphing powers, but it erodes thanks to the "stacked deck" the Ellimist created, as the Drode laments. As with the previous two Megamorphs, the events of this book end up not really happening.

I didn't read the whole thing, since it's practically written by and narrated by the Drode, who in this story was once Imaeus the Ai. But I wanted to record myself reading the prologue of a story that focused on a character I had created a voice for, so this is included at no extra charge. Check out the story if my intro makes it sound interesting.

I'm not a professional voice actor, but I'd like to think I know more about voice acting than your average Joe out there. Let me know what you think, and remember, these are all very rough takes. I make a few mistakes, and I didn't bother editing out some things. But if you wanted me to polish these recordings up a bit, I can do that. If you're curious, the software I use is Audacity.

I apologize for bumping this, but I just today realized that I had the wrong link for Megamorphs 4. I accidentally re-linked to Book 48, but I fixed that now, and correctly linked to my MP3 of Megamorphs 4. So go check that out; my favorite part of that book is where the Drode says "Oh I see it now! Subtle as always, Ellimist! Your meddling came before, didn't it?", which leads to the "You stacked the deck!" link I mentioned in my original post.
