There, you have now received your official Texan welcome. I've seen you around and made a few comments here and there, but I've never actually introduced myself. I'm Bear, in case ya hadn't guessed. You could call me Josh, but, well, most people just call me Bear around here.

Gotta give you props on the Scouting front there. I think we have one other fella here who's an Eagle Scout, but i can't remember who. Gotta ask... you still carry your card with you?

And I've also got to complain at you a bit for reawakening my pokemon nostalgia. I'm probably gonna get sucked into that over winter break. Shhh, don't tell my mom. >.< Btw, you know of a good website I can play it on my computer (or iPad, preferably...) from? What's a good emulator/rom source? All my old games are dead...

Yeah, I do carry my Eagle card around with me. You'd be surprised how many places offer discounts and stuff to Eagle Scouts 

That and a lot of people don't believe that I could possibly be an Eagle Scout because of the way I look, but whatever.

i know you've been here a bit so it's quite late for a welcome, but i've been absent since i was fully preoccupied by my college experience. now that i've graduated and i'm bored outta my mind, i've wandered back to the internet.

anyway, i heard you are from vegas - i'm from vegas and have moved back now that i've graduated college

i live right by santa fe station. it's great being so close to the freeway because we just hop on and it's easy access outta town. we go off-roading and exploring in the desert almost every weekend.

A ways from there. I live about halfway between Sunset Station and Green Valley Ranch. It's pretty much right in the middle of town. Anywhere I want to go - Mt. Charleston, Summerlin, Boulder City, anywhere really - is half an hour away, generally.

ah so you're closer to henderson. my friend's grandparent live near sunset, it was a pain to drive over there to hang out.

you ever go off-roading and play in the desert? we just got a new toy to play with, but it probably won't be ready until summer time...

Yeah, technically I live in Henderson. It's just easier to say Vegas because everybody knows Vegas. Even though I'm not in Vegas proper, I'm still about 10 minutes from the Strip and all that so I don't feel too bad for not saying Henderson. My grandparents live about 9 miles away from me and somewhere between my house and their house I cross the Henderson/Las Vegas border.

I go out in the desert every now and then to play around, yeah. I don't have any cool toys for that purpose (vehicle-wise), however, so I have to go out with my friends. I have a friend who lives on the south end of Boulder Highway, right at the edge of the desert, so there is that. He also lives about 15 minutes from the dry lakebed between where the 95 ends (going south) and Boulder City (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about) so that's always a fun place to go mess around.

yup, i know exactly where that dry lake bed is. i've driven past it but never drove on it. there's another dry lake bed if you go up the 95, past the mt. charleston exits and the golf course, there's a right turn to a wildlife range. the trail on the left is the old road to alamo, but it goes straight into the dry lake bed. the bad part is you can't go all the way to alamo unless you have sand tires because it's like talcum powder over there. the awesome part is that some of the lake bed that is accessible was once part of the bombing range, so there's little bits of wreckage lying around from back in the day worth checking out.

i don't actually have any toys like atvs or dirtbikes etc. the new toy i'm referring to is actually an old 4x4 '71 land cruiser that needs fixing up. usually we take either my '97 land cruiser or my dad's toyota tundra.
