Dream Team/Animorphs
« on: December 09, 2010, 08:14:47 PM »
Irrelevant, I guess. But I'm interested. If you were K.A Applegate, and could choose the main characters for a sci-fi series called Animorphs, who would you have picked out of all of the un-infested controllers. Would you have stuck with the original line-up? Or would you have changed a few things (Cassie, what?). Now, do not misunderstand my question. I don't mean create new characters, or make certain bad guys good guys. They have to either be major [human] characters, secondary [human] characters, minor [human] characters. The ONLY exception would be Tom, in that alternate universe world where he said, "Na, the sharing isn't for me." But ONLY Tom.

My "dream team" would be as follows:

     Tobias (leader)
     David
     Melissa
     James
     Ax
     Jordan

I figure that secondary characters need more depth. That, and I really like David and James. But a lot of the characters are blonde :P Talk about the blonde leading the blonde.

Cassie. Just Cassie. Maybe Tobias for some comic-relief.

Nah, I'd keep the original line-up.

Melissa has the personality of a wet rag, at least as far as the books show us.

I'd have kept Aftran around and involved Erek some more, but I'd definitely have kept the core six. They were all great foils for each other.

I would've liked to have had more with James and his team(s), but that's all really.

I like the core group as is. They're perfect, IMO, in a completely imperfect way.

Although, having Tom with them would've been cool. too.

I'd've kept the original team, but I think it would have been a neat twist if, at some point in the story, the Anis discovered that they weren't the only group of teen humans out there with access to morphing tech.

Like... what if there was a completely independent group of human morphers living in Asia or Europe or Australia or South America?  (No offense to Africa, but I don't really see a Yeerk invasion beginning in a place with such a low relative population density; they would have to start in Johannesburg or not at all, there.)
The universe is, instant by instant, re-created anew. There is, in truth, no Past, only a memory of the Past. Blink your eyes, and the world you see next did not exist when you closed them. The only appropriate state of the mind is surprise. The only appropriate state of the heart is joy. The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now. Be glad of it.

I was actually thinking the other day that something like a Animorphs UK team would be cool. There's this show Misfits that I love that reminds me of it a little. I'd read/watch that show/book series.

Speaking of Tom, I always kind of wondered what it would have been like if they had rescued him back in book number 1 when they nearly freed him in the yeerk pool raid.
Meh.

That's a good one. I mean, at that point they didn't have the cube so they couldn't have made him part of the team right away. They couldn't keep him hidden or anything, everyone would notice, and they didn't know about the Chee yet, either.

That would've seriously fracked things up, I think. Never thought about that.

Kinda' funny to think that Jake's dearest wish would have gotten them all killed. O-O;
