I've been searching for a good Animorphs fan community for five years now...Actually, I gave up after the first two and lucked into this one through youtube. Um...I read my first Animorphs book in the third grade. I think it was #24 The Pretender. I was intrigued by the character Tobias from the few episodes I had seen of the television show, and so I sadly did not read them in chronological order but in order of my favorite characters, haha. So I read all of the Tobias books, then Rachel, Jake, Marco, Cassie, and Ax...
After I had read a couple, I stopped and then started up again in the sixth grade. I pretty much read the entire series in less than a year, and it honestly turned my world upside down. For a while, a friend of mine and I actually made ourselves believe it was all real. :crazy2: The only one I never got a chance to read was The Ellimist Chronicles because I could never find it in stores, but I bought it offline a few months back--almost a year ago, but I haven't gotten around to it since it was my senior year of high school and now my freshman year in college. But after all this time (around ten years now), Animorphs is still the best reading experience I've ever had in my life. It was actually what made me love reading. <3
Some of them I've re-read quite a few times (all of the Tobias ones, especially #33, #24, and #49, The Separation, Megamorphs 4, The Hork-Bajir Chronicles, The Invasion, and The Beginning), but I plan to read them all again one day when their contents become more of a distant memory. I'd like to enjoy them from beginning to end without all the skipping around I did the first time. Although I have to admit, the writing isn't as easy to stomach as an 18 year old than it was as an 11 year old.
As you can tell by my username, my favorite Animorphs character is Tobias (I think I've already said that though, haha). It's strange to not have to explain it because I've used this name on other forums (I pretty much use it everywhere), and it seems I have to write an essay to explain it's meaning whenever I'm asked about its...peculiarity.
Oh, and I've forgotten to tell you my name. It's Jasmine.
Hopefully, I can find the time to hang out around here a little bit and join in on some of the discussions. Happy reading!
P.S. One of the reasons I came here was the irresistible lure of downloadable Animorphs episodes. After a while, those "best of" VHS tapes get worn out from overplay, and I get frustrated that it's not even the entire series...Could someone point me to where those are?
