Yeah, it does look big.

Can we get the signature size limit put back into the rules (it doesn't seem to be on the list currently), and/or put a reminder next to the signature editing place (lol what is it called)?  Or maybe it's possible to make it so the signature will automatically resize...

And out of curiosity, what is the size limit on avatar images?

edit:  I guess my signature is too big according to the 550x120 rule...but then most other people's are too big as well.  Do you think increasing the limit a bit would be a good idea?

Ah, so many questions in one post xD

Yeah, but I mean the avatar (the one on the left).

For instance, I've noticed that Este's is taller than 100 px.

oh, didn't read avatar.
i think it automatically re-sizes ones that are too large. take broken's, for example.

fixed, ignore the spoiler. [spoiler]bit off topic, but you think we should sticky this: http://animorphsforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,1052.0.html ?[/spoiler]

It's already linked to in the Useful Links sticky in the Intro section.

But maybe it should be somewhere more prominent.  I always get a bit confused about where the rules are.

haha, awesome.
didn't see that.

is there anywhere on the site where the exact dimensions of avatars and signatures is mentioned?
if it's not, i think the avatar size shouldn't matter, since it re-sizes them.

Ah, okay.  Now I need to find a program to resize an animated GIF (mine is 150px high), unless there's a way to resize an image with SMF BBcode.

Also, I'd like to change the layout so the text is on the side (again, reducing the vertical hight).  I tried to use table tags; are they enabled?

Okay, new, smaller (320x120) one attached.  Now changing siggy to point to it.

So does that mean that as of Sept. 14, 2008, there is no specific limit on signature size?

And how come Este's av is larger than 100X100?  o.o

I'm not saying it's too big or anything, just happened to notice.

That's true. Until someone has a problem with the size.

I think the problem is not big images, but multiple images. Maybe some rule about a limit on number of pics?

I refuse to remove this sig because of some petty argument. RAF must remain solid.

i think the total height matters more than the individual image height.
somebody could do

(etc.)
in their signature and it'd be fine under these rules. if we can't figure out a way to set a pre-defined pixel height limit, we need to (as you stated above) set a limit on the number of large images.

Or just a guideline on overall height.  200 px or so sounds fine to me.  I'd really appreciate being able to use table-tags, though, so I can convince the layout to go more horizontal than vertical.
