Halo/Animorphs
« on: October 15, 2008, 06:17:04 PM »
Ive been working on this for a few days, just for fun. Its kinda like halo and animorphs mashed together. It takes place after animorphs, and its the war that Earth wadges against whats left of the Yeerk Empire...

Ben’s armor crackled as he climbed over the darkened and blasted hill. Hork-Bajir and human bodies littered the ground. I followed close behind, my finger tight on the trigger of my P90. I had just lived through my first battle, and I was still running high on adrenaline. “Ben?” I asked through my helmet’s comm link. Without even looking at me, he asked “What?” Even over the comm I can tell he’s annoyed. “It’s over right? I mean, we won this battle.” Ben sighed. “Yes, it’s over. We won back this part of the continent.” I relaxed, slightly. I switched on my helmet’s thermal scan. I wasn’t reading anything living for at least half a mile. “It looks all clear.” I said as I turned off my helmet’s scan. Ben didn’t answer. I climbed up the rest of the hill, and joined my commander.

Below us was a field of bodies and burned out husks of antipersonnel vehicles. Ben whistled. “We may have won, but we paid for it.” He pointed at the masses of bodies. There I could see hundreds of human bodies, and only dozens of dead Hork-Bajir. I slackened my hold on my gun. “Just be glad your not one of them.” Ben shook his head. “Those poor kids.” But I wasn’t paying attention any more. I was looking at what was left of the forest. “Ben, look!” Ben turned and looked at the forest, switching his helmet to infrared. “Good eye, those are Hork-Bajir.” I switched my helmets display to infrared. The second it changed, I gaped. “There’s over thirty of them!” Ben chuckled at my surprise. “What are we going to do?” I asked. Ben lowered his gaze to the ground, and started searching for something. After a few seconds, he found a high-powered rifle with a scope. He held it out to me. “Snipe ‘em.” I hesitated, and the set my P90 down.

Nervously, I reached out and took the rifle. I looked through the scope, down at the forest where the Hork-Bajir were hiding. “Aim carefully, your only going to get one easy shot.” Ben advised. I breathed deeply, and aimed. KAWUMP. The rifle fired, and was deafened by my helmet. I watched as one of the Hork-Bajir toppled of the log he had been sitting on. Instantly, the remaining Hork-Bajir stood and looked around. I could see their beaklike mouths moving. I aimed again. KAWUMP. Another one fell. This time, the Hork-Bajir ran, and began spreading out. But now Ben’s rifle was firing too, and the Hork-Bajir were to slow. KAWUMP! KAWUMP! But then someone started firing back. TSEWW! TSEWW! The hillside before me exploded in geysers of gravel and clumped grass. “Duck down!” Ben yelled. I fell to the ground and rolled to the side. Where were the Dracon beams coming from? “There!” Ben said, pointing at a Hork-Bajir in a tree. I aimed, and fired. Click. What? Click. Click. Click. “Ben, I’m all out!” Ben shot a few more times. KAWUMP, KAWUMP, KAWUMP. “Use your P90!” He yelled. By now, a few Hork-Bajir saw that there were only two of us.

They rushed out of the woods, and started climbing up the hill. I crawled back to where I left my P90, and started shooting the running Hork-Bajir. WHIZZZZZ! WHIZZZZ! My gun sounded like a blender set on liquefy. Two dropped, with lines of red exploding from their chests. The rest ducked behind the husks of the vehicles, and fired back. TSEWWW! TSEWWW! WHIZZZZ! KAWUMP! My gun emptied its clip, and I reached down to my combat belt. I reloaded my gun, and then reached for a grenade. “Fire in the hole!” I yelled, giving Ben time to climb lower down the hill. I pulled the pin, and chucked it down at one of the husks. WHAM! The husk exploded into a fireball, and the concussion forced the other Hork-Bajir into the open. WHIZZZZ! WHIZZZZ! The last three Hork-Bajir toppled over, their screams drowned out by my gun. My first battle, and I had killed five Hork-Bajir.

By the time Ben and I got back to camp, two other groups of Marines had patrolled the area. Unlike Ben and I, these groups were squads of highly
trained soldiers. They had seen dozens of battles, and their body armor had the dents and bullet holes to prove it. But when we got back the camp, we were rushed straight to the HQ. Ben walked into the Command barracks with total authority in each stride. I walked in behind Ben, nervously clicking the safety of my gun on and off. “Stop it.” Ben said, irritably snatching the weapon out of my hands.

Ben set the P90 down on the table, and reached up to his head and pulled his helmet off. His white hair was buzzed close to his skull, and his brown eyes were cold and stern. His face looked like something out of a hologame. It was squarish, and his nose had been broken at least once. He was frowning, and kept looking at the barracks door.

Suddenly, the door  opened automatically and General Pickett walked in accompanied by War Prince Ulgrat. <Ahh, Sergeant Commander Ben McClure, what a surprise.> Ben’s face contorted angrily. “What is he doing here?” Ben asked. Pickett sighed. “Ben, show some respect! Now!” Ben scowled at Pickett and then faced War Prince Ulgrat. Ben saluted Ulgrat, over enunciating the action. Ulgrat frowned with his eyes, understanding the action was disrespectful. Picketts eyes bore holes into Ben, but Ben stood confidently. Ben smirked, happy that he had proved his fearlessness. “Ulgrat, what are you doing here?” Ben asked the Andalite.

The Andalite was all too happy to answer. <It seams that our special forces can’t penetrate the Yeerk’s defensive perimeter.> Ben

laughed angrily, and shook his head. “You can’t get through, so you’re going to sacrifice our men to get in.” Ben turned and faced

Pickett. “You can’t be serious! You’d sacrifice our men, just for them?” Pickett’s face contorted in anger. “Ben, if we’re ever going to win

the war, were going to need to make sacrifices.” Ben’s face flared a dark red. “You want us to make sacrifices? What sacrifice s have

the mighty Andalites made? Last time they lost a planet this important, they wiped out the entire species.”

Ulgret’s tail twitched. <That was under the command of War Prince Alloran! I follow the orders of the electorate only!> Ben turned

and stared straight into Ulgret’s eyes. “You could blast the Yeerks off this planet if you would only send a ship to aid us!” Ulgret shook

his head at Ben’s outburst. <I could say the same for you, Commander. You have ships as well. You could use your nuclear weapons to

blast them off the planet.> Ben looked at Ulgret, utter distain was clear in his eyes. He walked back to the table and put his helmet

back on. He set his audio system to speaker. “Come on, Private, we’re leaving.” Pickett looked at Ben and shook his head. “Be ready by-

” Ben interrupted him. “I’ll only go if the Andilite’s send aerial support.” Ben walked out of the Command barracks and towards the

soldiers and marines courters. “Ben, where are we going?”

1:00 AM

Three transports and eight fighters took off from the airport. Ben and I were in the transports. "Listen up ladies! We're dropping in on the Yeerks from eighty thousand feet! We need to take out the power, and main security towers. After that, haul your butts outa there as fast as you can! Were gonna nuke 5 miles around the base. That means everything for 20 square miles will be vaporized! Got it?" The collection of squads and soldiers in the hold shouted "Oorah!" Ben nodded and turned back to me. His helmet hid his face, but on the private comm link, I could hear his sadness. "Take a good look around Luke, only three of the twenty-eight people here will make it back to base."
Suddenly, our transport shuddered. "Anti-aircraft guns." I turned and looked out the window of our transport. Two Andilite fighters dropped out of the clouds, and opend fire. Bright blue light stabbed the at the forrest. Behind the fighters, three Andalite transports uncloaked behind the fighters, and opened fire as well. Ben's shocked voice surprised me. "I don't believe it. Ulgrat actualy sent help." I turned away from the window. "Do you think there's a dome ship up there?" Ben shrugged. "Maybe, but we still have Posidon, Enterprise, and the Victory up there any way, so it doesn't matter."
The pilots voice came on in our helmets. "We're over the drop zone, open the back door, and drop on out boys." Ben got up and walked over to the back hatch, and pressed the button. The door opened with a swish. "Com'on private lets go!" I checked my MP5, got up, and then ran to Ben. Before i stopped running Ben pushed me out into the open air. With a sickening feeling, I looked down at the world below. I heard Ben's laughter in my helmet. Suddenly, Ben was next to me. "Make sure you hold onto your weapon, if you loose it, you'll get stuck with your pistol." I checked my gun, and clipped it to my belt.

My night vision flickered. "Woah! What was that?" Ben looked over to our left, and down at the ground. We could see the Andalite fighters using thier shredders to blast entrenched Yeerks. Below us, the Andalites were jumping out of their transports, and rushing to attack any Yeerks they could find. "Pull your cord!" I reached over, and pulled my choots cord. I felt the sudden yank as my shoot caught the wind, and slowed me down. "Aim for that clearing." Ben pionted to a meadow near what looked like a mini-pool ship. "Thats going to be thier command center, if we take it out, they'll surrender." I looked at the pool ship, and the security towers around it. "Why cant we just blow it up?" Ben looked over, and I could here the smile in his voice. "If only it were that easy! It has a shield, thats what we have to take out!"
I touched down in the meadow, with Ben just behind me. I switched my helmets display to infrared, and uncliped my MP5. "Clear left!" I stated. Ben answered. "Clear right. Squad, touch down on my position." Within a few minutes, the rest of the squad had gathered in the meadow. Ben took command immediatly. As he spoke, gunfire, dracon beams, and shredders could be heard firing. "Alright, James, William, move out ahead of the squad. Oorah?" The squad answered. "Oorah!" The squad broke up and moved out. Safteys clicked off, helmets settings changed, and small talk exchanged.

Ben led the way through the woods with half the squad close behind. Off to my left, light exploded. TSEWWWW! TSAP! TSAP! TSAP! BLAMBLAMBLAM! Andalite shredders returned fire, joined with human gunfire. "They're blasting he heck outa them Yeerks." Some one else piped up. "Yea, well pretty soon it'll be our turn." I looked over at the soldier next to me who had spoken. His name plate read Christian. "Yeah, I cant wait for that to happen." I added sarcasticly. "Squad, hold up!" Bens voice hissed. I switched my helmet's settings to infrared, and saw why Ben had us stop. Befor us, rows of Yeerk assalt vehicles were parked, and an anti-spacecraft gun was blasting plasma twice as hot as the sun into the air.
Ben turned an looked back at us. "Everyone use grenades, just one. Then spread out and gun anything down that moves. Roberson and Tuzsun, plant the charges on the vehicles, and blow 'em when I say." Ben made a hand gesture for us to throw our grenades. I reached to my belt and found a grenade. Pulling the pin, I brought my arm as far back as I could, and threw the grenade. Everyone else was just a second behind. KA-WUMP! A fireball exploded, demolishing the anti-spacecraft gun, and setting the ammmunition of fire. "GO!"
I launched myself out of the woods and ran to the nearest vehicle. TSEEWW! The ground exploded, spraying me with gravel and dirt. BLAMBLAMBLAM! My MP5 answered. Christian crouched next to me. "Flashbang!" He yelled. He tossed a flash grenade. Flash! Christian and I ran out into the open and started shooting. BLAMBLAMBLAM! A Gedd's shoulder exploded. A Hork-Bajir stared in astonsihment as holes appeared in his chest. He fell to his knees, coughing and puting pressure on his wounds.
