Animorphs music
« on: May 18, 2010, 02:50:46 PM »
Hey
I'm a big fan of the Animorphs, and I've always figured Animorphs-inspired music would rock!
I've been playing the guitar for two years now and I know a bit about composing songs.
I've been thinking of making Animorphs music for a while now, and I believe the most suitable genre would be symphonic progressive metal/rock, not only because I'm a big fan of it, but because nothing can tell a story like 10 min+ epic song.

Anyone who knows a bit about music, is an instrumentalist, or has good vocals, and is interested in making kick ass Animorphs music can reply
to this post and we can work something out.

I'm making my GCE exams these days although after 7th of June, I'll be done, and I'll get me a new guitar and start working on this project, please, if you're interested in contributing in anyway, you can even write lyrics, reply to this post. :D

I wanna hear! But I can't really help ^^' I play no instrument, and to see my vocals... look at the Ani-parodies I made (RAFize songs) and sang...
But I'd like to listen to them.
Maybe this thread would fit more in the Project board...

You should write an Animorphs opera.

Haha, but anyway, I'm a musician of sorts.  Not very good at composing or writing lyrics...but I'd like to see what you come up with and maybe there'll be a possibility I can help!

A musician of sorts? talk about being vague :P
so do you play an instrument or did you study music?
I have already started composing, although recording will have to wait till I get a new electric guitar, which may well be late next month.

Well, I play clarinet in marching band, and I sing a little.  I'm not really seriously doing anything at the moment.  But when I have money I want to start voice lessons again.

Have you taken any formal classes in composition or anything like that?

Clarinet? That's cool, if you can read sheet music (even though I can't :P) I could send over some passages and you can record them and send them back...along with guitar, that would definitely give a symphonic metal feel :D
And no, I actually have not recieved any formal lessons, just bits and pieces about scales and whatnot I got off the internet and some books, the rest is just good old feeling and randomness :P...it's not as bad as it sounds, though.
And as for voice lessons, why not give the Internet a try before you start spending money? :P
