Psh, RYTX....didn't you know history got it wrong? EVERYTHING of worth takes place in SoCal. Including the end of the dinos. Obviously that's why Visser Three chose to ONLY focus his invasion there and not build a single other Yeerk Pool in THE ENTIRE WORLD.
I've spent the better part of the last three years in SoCal now. Nothing of worth takes place here.
Proof: Visser Three has proven himself a tactical moron several times through the series. Should have based in NorCal  :P

But now that I think about it: how did they have 3 years worth of story supposedly in SoCal, and only have like, one drought, instead of the typical 7 month heat wave. Too weird. And off topic so....
Something, something, oh crap I pissed everyone off again....

i never thought of that actually. i don't know. maybe the nesk could have possibly returned, or maybe where ever they went, they were wiped out. after all, 65 million yrs is a long time. and who knows how time would pass in another galaxy? that would have been awesome to know actually

well.... since we're on this topic...

what do we know about the Nesk's attitudes? like...we're they spiteful? how smart were they? how advanced? I mean...they moved an asteroid to destroy a planet..but they didn't have any planet destroying weapons (assuming they would have used it if they did)...

and why exactly did they want to destroy the Mecora?

Wasn't it just because they didn't want to share Earth? It's been awhile since I read the book, but I could have sworn them hitting Earth with the asteroid was the equivalent of 'Fine, if we can't have it, no one can!'

yea because the mercora were the "alien" species that came to earth. perhaps the nesk were originally from earth. they may have thought "its us or no one." unless they were aliens to earth also. considering the wide array of technology they stole from others. come to think of it they may have gone somewhere and did roughly the same thing.

Tractor beam?  All they'd have to do is give it a push.

if i remember correctly, the mercora simply state that the "nesk had redirected the comet to hit that settlement" assuming that the nesk could only do this by strategically placed explosions, then wouldn't the animorphs see (or hear) some kind of explosions? why i am saying this is because perhaps the nesk calculated and measured that the comet was going to hit that settlement and they figured that the best thing to do is to leave. if this is true, if tobias and ax carried any guilt they shoulda have to worry. haha

Yeah, it was as simple as putting it into decaying orbit around Earth.
